Not too far away the deserter captain of the mostly captured crew drifted towards an enterprising ship. His eyes rolled listlessly as sea sickness caught him unawares after not having gotten to eat even a morsel of the chicken that had been ordered for him back in Roguetown. In fact the ironic adventure had simply led to a full scale showdown between four men and the might of the of Navy armed forces stationed in the hub cap of the East Blue, but nonetheless the lovable scoundrel managed to slink away with two faces at his side.
On one hand there was Tomas, the blond haired opportunist that had a plain face and even plainer manner of speaking. He’d been right by the pirate’s side in their escape and had even waited for the man while he retrieved the other tiny figure on that resided on the captured ship of the mysterious individual, the Lanternshark. A well made vessel that cut through the feisty waves of the normally calm sea comprising the East Blue region. Even as he stood with a sickened shade of pale green for a face he stared off into the distance with rabid eyes that hungered for more than just food. Certainly he was a bit more cautious running on empty, but to completely curtail the very essences of a villain or at least an anti-hero to the truest sense seemed absurd to one such as him. Whirling around fiercely he stormed across the deck with newfound strength in search of Tomas; the b@st*rd certainly had to redirect this blasted shop to the cash cow that floated no more than five leagues away.
Let it be known that our pirate friend, Jack Dancer is not a sailor in the slightest, “Hey! Shifty-eyes, bring yer a$$ out here!” he shouted with half hearted annoyance, but even as he stood at the steps leading to the lower deck his lips curled into a hard smile. The kind of smile a mercenary gets when they find a cache that might be worth the risk of getting captured and packed away in prison.
Oh yea, this was one of those days.
Meanwhile…
Captain Walker’s ship was nearing the San Fortuna and it was obvious from the many people standing nervously towards the edge that something indecent was taking place inside the main hall. Despite himself the competitive streak of the husky man in his all white navy breeches found him smiling excitedly when; he’d have his share of fun even if capturing the Dancing Blade Pirates had been no more difficult that snagging a defenseless child. Now only a few knots away from the looming merchant ship, the officer did what any good helmsman would do in his position, “I want the cannons prepped and several men on the anchor preparing it for drop!” he bellowed with the sternness of a man who knew his way around a ship.
His eyes floated from one of end of the bustling ship to the other making certain that each man was doing his part to ensure that justice was upheld. Of course there was something to be said for the prospect of failing here and having Commodore Rina return from her victorious campaign only to hear about one of her men failing. No, Anson would avoid that possibility as best as he possibly could. Realizing that he’d been tensed in his standing position he eased his muscles with a few circular rotations of his shoulders when a shiver went down his spine, as if something terrible was about to happen. His eyes immediately flitted to where fourteen men had rushed below deck to ready the cannons.
Taking he step his eyes narrowed dangerously until a lookout said that they were within cannon’s range…and another ship was spotted in the distance, one that appeared to be similar to a navy vessel. Indecision made the cut-and-dry man hesitate a moment as a lingering gaze towards the door was quickly ended with a sharp shake of his head; apparently denial was something that he could live with rather than having to deal with more than one nuisance at a time. Where was Ren Korchov?
The man should’ve been sniveling around here by now, but he was nowhere to be seen. All they had to do was make it to Roguetown, something which they would set out for as soon as the good people of the San Fortuna were safe,
“Let’s bag us some pirates!” the man said heartily to which the men responded in a chorus of proud Navy men; the honor of the seagull emblazoned onto their flags as they charged towards their vile foe.
