LEONARD LECLERC & ANGELO SORES
ACT I SCENE IV- Marine Attack!
The Colossus Marcus Rhodes Appears! -
Leonard was just leaning back on his chair, feet up on the round wooden table. The bar the fledgling crew had found themselves was dimly lit, the little illumination came from a few lamps on the wall and the faint sunlight that peered through the thick, almost opaque, glass windows and the thick polluted smog of Dauntaun.
The city had definitely not been the most charming the swordsman had visited, it was all steel and cold impersonal buildings where the people were stacked on top of each other. They had been told that there were some woods and more rural parts to the east side of the island but there were no real reasons for the crew to venture that way.
The fledgling pirate crew had made their way to the island to resupply and hopefully find a doctor or cook, hopefully one of each, to join the crew. While buying supplies had been simple enough, finding the right people for the crew proved much more difficult.
Some of the locals pointed Leonard to the mercenaries on the payroll of the Steele family but the young captain had no interest in some opportunist only loyal to the money, and it’s not like Leonard had the reputation or the financial backing to afford mercenaries.
For now the young man just relaxed in a small hole in the wall bar while trying to think of a way of finding the right people for the crew. He couldn't well just go shouting on the rooftops he needed people for a pirate crew, after all there was a non negligible Marine presence on the island and simply claiming yourself a pirate was punishable by the law.
Angelo did not have much to add to the situation. The Martial artist had used most of his spare time to train and build his strength up, having seen how far the captain had pulled ahead of him.
At least working the ship on the journey to Dauntaun had been some good conditioning and strength training, Having to pull on the rigging and occasionally take the helm required some good amount of strength.
As for Dauntaun itself… well Angelo couldn't say he liked the place. The whole island had a smell to it. Whether it was the people, the dirty street or the pollution the martial artist wasn’t sure, maybe it was a combination of all three; but the place sure made him miss the clean air of Karate Island.
Hopefully Leonard would come up with some idea on what their next move would be, or at least a new destination as Angelo really did not care to stay on this island any longer than he had to.
“Any brilliant ideas, captain?” Asked Angelo, his head resting on his hand, leaning against the table, a bored look on his face.
“Not really, I thought coming to a big and populated island would make finding people easier but it seems it might have been counterproductive.” The captain replied, looking absentmindedly at the ceiling while tossing a little dried fish from a plate towards his penguin companion on the other side of the table.
“I’m open to suggestions if anyone has an idea of their own. Otherwise we might just call it for this island and see what other places around have to offer.” Leonard finally added looking back down at the table and his two crew members capable of speech.Angelo: 00b4ec
