LEONARD LECLERC & ANGELO SORES
ACT I SCENE IV- Marine Attack!
The Colossus Marcus Rhodes Appears! -~~~On the Docks~~~
Angelo squared off with Marine that seemed to be in charge, the man shouting out for him to be under arrest. It was now the second time on that day he was told that, by now he was more than getting sick of it.
Angelo ducked and weaved closer to the large man with an officer’s coat on his shoulders, the Marine’s heavy katana coming up in the air.
“I’ve had my fill with you Marines telling us what to do!”
“I APOLOGISE!!!”
Angelo stopped a mere couple of feet in front of the officer who was about to bring down his blade.
“It’s about time you get that we won’t ever stop!”
“FOR CUTTING YOU DOWN!!!”
The martial artist raised his arms above his head in a crossed block, each wrist supporting the other as the sword came down to meet him. This was do or die, either he had truly mastered this move, or he would die.
Harden your body, still your mind. Let the soul of the Metal Dragon flow through you and turn your body to steel!Metal Dragon Soul
“KINRYUUGON!!!”
The blade came down and… SNAP!
The top of half of the sword when flying right up in the air as the force of the attack against the hardened arms broke the weapon clean in two. The Marine Officer looked in shock at his weapon, his eyes looking like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
Angelo then relaxed a little and began moving again, this time pulling his arm back. It was time for the counterattack.
“I apologise…”
The Marine Officer looked in shock at the man readying his strike in front of his face, a drop of snot beginning to drip and sweat flowing from his forehead.
“FOR STRIKING YOU DOWN!!!”
Angelo unleashed the power of his Dragon Fist in the Officer's face, and as promised, struck him down, sending the man flying and rearing back into several rolls before the man crashed in some crates, mere inches from the docks edge and the deep waters.
The other marines were all in shock of the blond man’s power and the strange folding penguin that had begun attacking them. At least for a moment before they came rushing again.
“Brandon! To the boat now!”
Angelo called out to his partner in crime as he himself sprinted up the dock, kicking and pushing his enemies on the way. Reaching the very edge of the dock, Angelo grabbed the mooring line and set off in a leap, just about reaching the railing of the Freedom and climbing onboard.
There was no time to lose! He had to get the ship ready and moving for the others!
The young man was forced to duck as a small volley of bullets came flying at him as some of the marines resorted to deadly force, while some attempted to climb the side of the ship.
I gotta get the anchor off and cut this line!
A few of the marines made it onboard and rushed Angelo. Good he could use them.
As one desperately swung a cutlass at the martial artist, Angelo ducked and rolled under the attack, letting it swing right past him and onto the mooring line, cutting the ship free. Only the anchor was left.
With that in mind, it was time to put those muscles Angelo had trained for so long to good use. The First Mate grabbed the rope which joined the Freedom’s anchor to the rest of the ship and… pulled.
Not like one would normally pull an anchor, slowly and carefully, instead he lifted it like it were a fishing line with the heaviest catch at the end.
Lo and Behold! The anchor burst out the water like a metal fish.No use wasting this momentum.
With a roar Angelo swung the rope and anchor about as if a giant whip of flail and BAM! Hit the Marines on their sides and send them flying right off the ship, the sheer momentum of the swing enough for the Anchor to wrap itself around the mast like a grappling hook, keeping it secure for now.
With this, the ship was free, now it was just a matter of getting it moving under the hail of bullets. Angelo had a rough idea what each of the ropes Raq had placed around the sails were meant to do, the Freedom was not that small a boat but she had made it so only the three of them could sail it, but even with Brandon’s physical abilities, Angelo was alone in this endeavour. No matter, he would just have to power through it. Running across the deck, the young man grabbed several of the ropes and wrapped them around his arms and legs, doing his best to duck when he heard gunshots, the final rope going in between his teeth, it was in the awkward position that he managed to hop to the helm and pulled on all the ropes, as he grabbed onto the ship’s wheel, releasing the sails all at once.
“Caehuu uuu-y! E on e a uu-ny ie!”
(Careful buddy! It’s gonna be a bumpy ride!)
The martial artist shouted at his feathery companion through gritted teeth biting down a thick length of rope.~~~In the Warehouse~~~
The ropes came at her like whipping snakes, yet Atheleys Raine was not quite ready to give up. Once again her body was just ever too slow to react as she tried to jump out of the grasp of the rope, not enough speed and momentum to avoid it entirely.
Instead the Marine Captain opted to lift herself up using her makeshift spear, the ropes binding themselves around the broomstick instead of her as she leapt up and away, this would prove to be the final mistake.
In an impossible twist of her body and with inhuman agility, the rope woman pulled herself up and around spear maiden, into a deadly kick. One that Atheleys had just made herself jump headfirst right into. The force of her own jump would be added to the incoming kick and there would be no way for her to remain conscious from that.
This small instant seemed to last a lifetime, long enough for Atheleys to reflect on her mistakes in this fight. She overestimated herself, underestimated her opponents, and oh god the paperwork that will come from this. But most importantly she made a promise to herself.
Run and make your escape, you pirates. Go and let us chase you to the end of the seas. Next time, Azure in hand, I will not fail. I would not have anyone else catch you until then.
The rope woman’s leg impacted with the side of Atheleys temple, and then… everything went black. The last feeling of the Marine Captain before fading away to nothingness was the hardness of the cold hard floor as she impacted the ground flat on her front.~~~ In the Streets~~~
Leonard bent down shakingly and grabbed his trusty nodachi in his right hand, his left still occupied holding his core, the inside of his body feeling it like it would come spilling should he move it.
Damn, there really was no way to run now. He fledgling captain was incapable of anything like a run that would outpace the casual stride of the Colossus. There was only one way out of this.
I need to figure out a different way out of this kind of fight in the future. I’m making a damn habit of it.
Trusting his inside to hold still for just a little longer the young swordsman opted to grab his sword with both hands, raising the long blade above his head in a straight forward stance.
A few paces ahead of him Marcus Rhodes stopped and raised an eyebrow.
“Oh?”
A simple exclamation as if to say “Are you sure this is how you want to do this kid?”
Barely capable of keeping his eyes open, entire body heaving up and down with each deep, exhausted breath, Leonard mustered a reply.
“I can’t… hah... run away… fast enough.”
The young man even had to swallow some of his blood in between sentences to keep speaking.
“Wouldn’t… want you… to have… to… strike me… in the back… would we?”
Even in this ridiculous state, Leonard LeClerc managed his usual cocky grin, one which was responded with a chuckle from Rhodes.
“Are you saying you can take more hits from Beast?” Responded an amused Rhodes.
Leonard smirked harder.
“Nah…” One more deep breath and a flash of childhood memories flooded the swordsman.
“I’m saying you hit like a decrepit old man! Come on and give your best shot! I’ve got a ship to get back to!”
This would be the very last clash of this fight. One long downhill avenue was all there was between Leonard’s back and the sea. There was no doubt in the young man’s mind that his friend would have made it to the Freedom and safety. All he needed was to get himself off this island, and now the only way seemed to be by flying. Escape and survival is victory. As the Pirate Captain said before, all he had to do was win.Angelo: 00b4ecAtheleys: 1f4f86
