Uma Uma no Mi, Model: Chalicothere
English Name: Horse-Horse Fruit
Classification: Ancient Zoan
Owned By: Dubrovnik Ragusa
Appearance: The devil fruit resembled an over-sized feijoa with yellow skin. The typical swirling pattern of all devil-fruits is a rich forest green colour and stretches across the entire skin of the fruit barring the stalk. Said stalk is of a slightly darker shade of green when compared to the colour of the swirls, and uncharacteristically straight. Its flesh is a rich pink.
The flavour, as with all devil fruits, is terrible. This particular fruit's taste is said to resemble that of expired milk, with a texture not dissimilar to a hard-boiled egg once bitten into.
Ability: The devil fruit is of the zoan type, with his model transforming the user into a chalicothere human. Giving them the ability to transform into a chalicothere, an ancient perrisodactyl. The transformations include:
- Full TransformationThe user has the ability to transform themselves into a chalicothere, an ancient relative of the horse. Chalicotheres can stand at roughly 3 metres when at full height, but their posture means that they normally stand at roughly 2.5 metres. The best way to describe their appearance would be a cross between a horse and a gorilla. They possess short, stocky hind limbs and long forelimbs with large claws. The large difference in length between the forelimbs and hind limbs of the creature require that it walks on its knuckles, with is hefty claws folded back. This particular chalicothere is russet-brown in colour with white colouration around the maw and spots accross its thick, coarse fur.
- Hybrid Transformation
The user has the ability to transform into a half-human half-chalicothere form. They retain their humanoid shape, but their stature rises to roughly 2.5 metres tall when standing at full height. Their body becomes significantly broader and heavier. Further, the user's arms become significantly longer, reaching down to the ground. Further, the hands at the end of those same arms are replaced by five long and serrated claws. The user's face becomes half-way between that of a human and a horse, with an elongated maw and ears resembling that of an equid. Finally, the user's entire body becomes covered in a thick russet-brown fur.
Weaknesses:
- Kairoseki - Sea Prism StoneAs with all devil fruits, contact with kairoseki prevents the user from activating or using any of their abilities and reverts them back to their human form. Further, the substance actively drains the energy of the devil fruit user.
- SubmersionAs the user of the devil fruit, the holder of the Uma Uma no Mi has been rejected by the sea and when submerged in water loses their ability to move and will sink to the bottom. Further, as is common with zoan users, once the user is submerged over fifty-percent, the user loses the ability to actively control their abilities and reverts back to their base form.
- CumbersomeWhen transformed into their full transformation, the bulk of the chalicothere becomes as much of a curse as it does a blessing. High-speed and high-agility techniques become unusable, and mobility is extremely limited. As such, the user becomes a target that is very easy to land a hit on. In hybrid-form, this takes effect to a lesser degree. The user loses the ability to use high-agility techniques, but can build some speed when moving in a straight line. The user remains as an easy target to hit due to slowed reactions, but their ability to walk or run is not as hindered as in full transformation form.
