Kano Post #1 / Merle Post #1
Tropical warmth, fresh sea air, beautiful blue sea, and annoying rough pebbly sand on the feet. This was almost perfect. The little cove landing on to a small piece of beach hemmed in by cliffs was almost perfect. Just almost though. Kano grimaced as he looked down lifting a foot to pick at pebbles in his shoe. His mood was a little cross for having only recently arrived at the site of his next adventure. Staying low to the water's surface required a lot of extra attention, he couldn't randomly dip in altitude lest he drop into the Grand Line and drown himself.
-Splash Splash-
Kano's attention turned to the arrival of his newer traveling companion. Water splashed and crashed about as she emerged from the waves to step onto land. The fool smiled and grinned as the fishwoman stepped onto land. "Have a nice swim?" She looked up at him. Putting her harpoon into a single hand she combed through her hair with the other, pulling back hair from in front of her face. "Of course." She said before looking over Kano. Golden eyes analyzed him up and down before she too started grinning and then laughing out loud. A long arm came forward to cover the mouth and stifle the continued laughter. "Sorry, sorry, you look so annoyed right now. Its hilarious."
The fool's face fell slightly, before returning to a grin. Her happiness was sorta contagious, at the very least for him it was. Merle was like this, laughing at everything, it was a good change of pace. A good way to forget- Kano paused for a moment his happy face sliding away. Eyelids snapped shut and his breathing slowed. Merle noticed this and quickly gathered her composure once again.
"Come now, don't be like that. Live more Kano. We've got an island to explore!" The fishwoman said as she walked towards him to pat him on the shoulder. For his part Kano almost thought that he wasn't in the mood but the tug on the corners of his lips told him otherwise. His head nodded up and down as he raised his head again. The softest of a sparkle was in his eyes. "Good then, how about we go around the shoreline and find an easier way up." A completely reasonable idea came from Merle as she started to turn around.
"Or ..."
Hands reached forth, that sparkle in his eye bloomed and a grin returned to the fool's face. Kano grasped Merle about the waist. "Kano, what are you doing, what are you ... unhand m- AHHHHHHHHHHH" Her voice was soon drowned out by the sparking of what sounded like a firework. A small cloud of sand pushed ballooned from the ground as two figures flew.
