It was almost cute how the elderly couple had welcomed them onto their little merchantman ship as though welcoming family aboard. He couldn't believe that the little old lady with her head shaking constantly with her glasses that were probably as thick as a cork and starch white hair plus her husband with his slouched posture, wooden cane, hearing problems and lack of hair on his head at all would still be sailing around. Especially in the Grand Line.
Kane almost felt that they had made the wrong decision boarding the vessel and potentially involving these elderly people to a Marine chase. They had been willing to give them a ride though when they had asked. The only ones in the harbor that had said yes. And now they had to worry about potentially causing these poor nice folks to both die of heart attacks.
Still, Kane had actually quickly turned his view on the subject to be glad that they had actually decided to board with them. Already, it seemed like they had kept these two slightly senile members of the community from making a horrible decision just so that they could see their fancy and rich grandson on Bravo Bravissimo. The ex-Captain had even made some adjustments to the route so that they would get their faster, following the log pose more closely. They had been lucky so far that the worst weather that they had experienced so far was a small torrential downpour though.
Why the son didn't just get off his own lazy butt and come to visit the grandparents was a different story. The red head was pretty sure that the grandson was just too spoiled to make a sacrifice for his grandparents. That was his opinion, at least, once he had heard about the scope of the place that he lived in. It was a mansion with pool tables, swimming pools, a private theater and a servants living quarters. Seriously. He could have afforded to even just send someone to pick up his family to bring them safely for a visit.
Hours after the dinner and everyone else had gone to bed. Now that it was night, Kane still couldn't seem to settle down. He felt restless despite the warm sheets and private room that the Fuji couple had provided him. There was so much going through his head about things that it just wouldn't stop. It was like a vicious circle.
Gripping the wooden railing with one hand, Kane's blue eyes gazed out of the dark ocean. He could barely distinguish where the Ocean actually stopped and where the sky began because of the intense cloud coverage that night. The ocean just seemed to merge into the sky. Every once in a while, the clouds would move out from in front of the moon and cast a light down on the little merchant vessel or some stars or the moon itself would briefly shine out from behind a cloud and twinkle for a moment. Besides his red hair ruffling in the breeze, the older teenager was fairly quite. He was staying still; contemplating.
