▲;—Personality:
• Excitable -- Verbal altercation also tends to inspire in Iskandar surges of passionate tangents regarding subjects of personal fancy. With his bevy of knowledge, Iskandar can spend hours explaining and discussing any subject he finds personally interesting. This can be quite overwhelming, as when he begins his assault there is no stopping Iskandar's barrage of facts and trivia. Many people find the young librarian difficult to talk to, as they find issues in keeping up with the conversation and simply feeling as though they are even participating in it. On the flip-side, Iskandar can hardly be bothered with conversations on subjects that don't interest him, and readily dismisses those he does not find worthy of his time. Given the volatile nature of this particular character trait, Iskandar's interactions with people tend to be limited to first encounters.
• Curious -- The arsenal of information that Iskandar commands is fueled by his capacity for curiosity. Once Iskandar's interests have been piqued, he uncontrollably finds and devours all information regarding those particular subjects. This obsessive devotion to learning has crafted Iskandar into the young man he is today, forging him into a veritable human encyclopedia capable of instant recall and massive information storage. His major shortcoming, however, is in his failure to apply that information in the real world. While Iskandar is knowledgable, he is not particularly skillful, and he has grown to resent that simple fact.
• Resentful -- There are a number of things Iskandar holds resentment toward, although they all seem to stem from a single common factor: the wants that continue to elude him. For one, Iskandar resents those with fathers and mothers, whole families that show compassion to one another. He also resents those who are more skilled than he is, especially people he deems less intelligent than himself. Lastly, he resents the blessed few who have found their purpose in life. At the impressionable and chaotic age of 19, Iskandar is just beginning to realize his objective insignificance in the world, especially when compared to the great achievers of his time. All of this, coupled with his inability to apply knowledge to practice, causes Iskandar to feel trapped within himself, ultimately resenting his own character most of all.
• Compassionate -- Despite a wealth of character flaws, Iskandar is, overall, a very kind and gentle individual who cares deeply about his fellow man on a grand scale. Perhaps his capacity for compassion is borne from a complete lack of it in his own personal life, managing to fill that void only through his own caring actions. While his previously defined idiosyncrasies may, at times, color Iskandar combative and anti-social, he very much does wish well-being on anyone who deserves it. That said, Iskandar has no tolerance for the exploitation of the meek and defenseless. Due to his own fragile physique, however, Iskandar can hardly be considered a protector of the weak. Still, he does what he can to help whoever possible within the scope of his own ability. The only trouble is that Iskandar does not feel as though he is doing enough, and fears that he is incapable of doing more.[/ul]
▲;—Appearance:
• Complexion -- Despite looking borderline emaciated, Iskandar has impressively clear and healthy-looking skin. It is particularly fair due to his spending most of his time indoors, although it does brown beautifully in the sunlight; a perk of his sky-borne heritage. There is rarely a blemish to be found on Iskandar's flawless face. He does, however, have a number of birthmarks and moles scattered across the rest of his body.
• Intricacies -- Iskandar is quite plain looking compared to the vast expanse of body types and clothing styles that exist in the world. Iskandar does pay particularly obsessive attention to his personal hygiene, resulting in a sterile fragrance emitting from his body at all times. Iskandar's only other defining characteristic are his cold, dark-gray eyes.
• Style -- Madame Almonte keeps her prodigy in the finest and most modern of digs. While the quality of Iskandar's garb is quite high, it is of relatively simple style while remaining formal enough for professional work. After all, Iskandar must maintain a level of professionalism in his attire at all times given his occupation, which consists of a neatly pressed collared shirt, a skinny tie, a light cardigan, slacks, and a stylish pair of sneakers (all form-fitting).
• Disposition -- On-edge. At the ready. High alert. These are but a few accurate descriptions of Iskandar's demeanor. Whether it be anxiety-bred sensitivity or well-trained perceptiveness, Iskandar maintains a stressful level of attention to detail beneath a fragile mask of practiced reservation. This promotes a generally jumpy or easily startled disposition in the young man when forced into most larger social settings.[/ul]

▼ History
Island of Birth: Water 7
Current Island: Silver Islands
Madame Felonia Almonte was the proprietor of the largest private library in all of the Silver Islands, happily charging its residents exorbitant member fees to peruse her immense catalogue of books, scrolls, and tablets on brief loan. This is how she acquired her immense wealth, even managing to partner with the archipelago's University by supplying numerous texts and research materials to the various scholars enrolled, charging additional delivery costs the whole way through.
At her core, Madame Almonte was a businesswoman, and it seemed that Iskandar was looking to be more of a long-term investment rather than a blood-relative. From the moment he could comprehend language, Madame Almonte began a vicious education regiment which lasted until Iskandar was nearly 18. He was privately tutored by several professors from the university, taught a great deal of the world's languages, and was even given managerial duties at the Almonte Library shortly after graduating from what one would consider his "Secondary Education."
As a result of this forced human programming, Iskandar's social skills developed rather sluggishly. Most of his interactions were with educators and scholars, debating theories and arguing histories. When not interacting with the University, he was at the library interacting with its patrons. The meetings were usually brief, and altogether unmoving. No connections were made, and Iskandar did not pursue them. He was, after all, consumed by the knowledge that surrounded him.
It was convenient that Iskandar genuinely enjoyed learning and found comfort in absorbing information. He devoured books like bowls of candy, smacking his lips and breathing a sigh of satisfaction with each book set on the pile. It was a wonderful distraction from the questions that continued to plague his mind with each passing day; the obvious, painful questions that no one seemed to know the answers to, but gave unsatisfying responses all the same.
Where was his father?
Why had he left him here alone?
What happened to his Mother?
Madame Almonte gave Iskandar the same brief message Asad left her with those many years ago:
"She's dead.”
With all that in mind, Iskandar continues his quest for knowledge. The solace it brings him is enough, given that his intelligence is really the only thing he has left. That, along with the friendly creature that had, in recent years, come to be the library's biggest freeloader: a black and grey cat that had grown quite fond of Iskandar, curling up somewhere in the vicinity of the young librarian at all times, but never directly in anyone's line of sight. Iskandar named the creature Djinn, and they have become inseparable.
Now, at 19, Iskandar has become a senior manager of the Almonte Library and has been tasked with finding rare and expensive texts to add to the hoard. Iskandar has recently been dispatched to the Pirate's Market, a neighboring island in South Blue that deals with more-than-questionable vendors and treasure hunters. Madame Almonte instructed Iskandar to be on the lookout for texts regarding ancient Dial technology, Dial mechanics, and ancient Skypiean history. He was also instructed to hire muscle as soon as he arrived, as there are little-to-no rules at the Pirate's Market, especially rules protecting a Government funded merchant on the lookout for dangerous cargo.[/ul]
