His meaty fingers drummed against the plush chair in no specific rhythm. This place, this club he supposed was the name, was rather drab, save for a few of the juicier morsels on the strut. He had just come into town a few hours ago, what was this place called again... Lougetown or something asinine like that. The Entitled had docked right off shore and let its passengers disembark while it took on supplies and whatever else it needed to float. A rather splendid vessel, the thing had been built for the sole purpose of transporting World Nobles and lesser Nobles around the Blues and the Grand Line for their enjoyment. While most of the highest societal echelon preferred to stay high upon the beautiful Red Line, with its pristine air, some liked to travel instead and gaze over their property, the world for the little people, down here with these oceans of smelly water. Nonetheless he was here now, the nobleman known as Alard, a once proud fighter, well for a noble anyway. In his older age he had grown a tuft of a beard which matched his beady dark eyes. His once thick body full of muscle was now portly, but no one would ever say so to his face of course.
He was just one of the few “Upper Men” wandering this area of town, perusing through the selection. Amidst his lingering and eye wandering he noticed a rather sensational woman with blonde hair, appointed with a small lock of off colored hair. “Meh” he said smally, as if he didn’t need to raise his voice. A smaller man who was standing beside him, dressed in simple black clothes leaned inward to hear his liege. “Get her, I think she will make a fine pet. Spend whatever they want.” With a dismissive wave of his hand Alard then continued to look around to see who else would strike his fancy in this box. Secretly he wondered how this blond girl would taste later, perhaps he would sample her right when they brought her over…
Ethan stood waiting in line to sign in and board this massive luxury liner called the Entitled. He was a simple mechanic, so this job would provide him much more opportunity than he had been accustomed to, and yet for some reason Ethan had a strange feeling about today. Nobles were supposed to be rather odd by normal standards, so he was concerned just what this ship would look like. But from what he could see, the towering white structure was a simple shallow bottom barge. It must have 10 levels of deck, with layers and layers of entertainment for the fortunate. And from what he had heard in passing from the many lines formed at different desks on the dock, it had floors for the workers as well. It couldn’t be too bad, at the pay day would be wonderful, he thought, the flyers had been rather unspecific. Still, there must have been a thousand people standing around on this section of dock, formed into lines behind simple desks, each home to one man and a chair with a long list of names filling the roles for this trip. A ship this size needed a big crew of workers, so what better place in the East Blue to pick them up than Lougetown?
Our friend Ethan was a good 7 feet tall though, thanks to some good genes, and he had the pleasure of looking over a lot of the other workers that were milling in lines. Dressed in a simple one-piece machinist outfit of a dull green, toting his large bag of possessions and tools with him, he must have looked a bit out of place, though his short brown hair and close trimmed beat-nick beard made him look a little less intimidating. And none of the people around would be able to make out his prostatic arm which was tucked gently into his left pocket. Hopefully he would blend in enough to get the job he so desperately needed. Hell he just wanted to get out of this place. Gazing nonchalantly around Ethan’s eyes passed over a rather petite woman in a line further down, standing with her arms crossed in front of her chest. She didn’t look to happy about being here at the time, but her thick brown hair had a seductive quality to it. Shaking his head for a second, Ethan thought he saw her eyes flicker slightly so he jerked away, looking straight in front instead. The man in front of him stepped forward, one space closer to the desk at the front of his line. Sighing to himself, Ethan awaited his turn.
The guards that had been set up to house the workers into lines were walking up and down, weapons at the low ready while more sharply dressed full-time workers going about their duties. It might be a few more hours before the ship left port, right after everyone was hired at training for their jobs had begun. Then again, there were a lot of guardsmen come to think of it. Man this must have been a big operation. Looking down from his perch, the Captain of the ship shook his head, hoping that they were hurry up and get everyone on board. They would have to have the walkway cleared by the time the Nobles arrived once again from their visit to the island.
This was going to be an interesting trip either way. No doubt about that one…
