LEONARD LECLERC
ACT I - SCENE I- A PENGUIN AND A MAN! -Wealth, Fame, Power,
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, Gold Roger.
The final words that were said at his execution sent people out to the seas.
“My Wealth and Treasure? If you want it I’ll let you have it.”
“Look for it! I left it all in that place!”
Men now, chasing their dreams, head for the Grand Line.
The World has entered the Great Age of Pirates!
As so begins another tale anew…
Somewhere in a remote part of the South Blue:
“Hmmmmmmmmm… This is a problem.” The young man mused aloud. It had not been so long since Leonard LeClerc left his home in hopes to sail the seas and experience all the world had to offer. Not Content to explore his native West Blue the young man made his way to exotic South Blue, although that had cost the travel berrie that had been so carefully saved over the years. One crossing to another sea, one cheap sailboat and one nasty storm was what it took to bring Leo where he was. Sitting alone, on some small rock barely big enough to accommodate him, lost in the middle of the southern sea with no land or ships in sight.
“Urgh… Grandad would cuss me out if he could see me right now.” Leonard shifted his weight as he sat cross legged on his rock, making sure his nodachi was safely across his legs to make sure it would not roll off in the water. The last thing he wanted at this point for his sole, and thus most, prized possession to be lost to the sea along with everything else the storm had already taken.
Resting his head on his palms the stranded sailor mused to himself some more, it’s not like anyone was going to think him mad for talking to himself, there wasn’t anybody else around. “I definitely need somebody’s help to navigate. They say the Grand Line is infinitely more treacherous than the Blues, if I can’t make it two days here I’ve got no chance in the most dangerous sea in the world.” With an exacerbated sigh Leonard began to lean back, to lie down, momentarily forgetting there was no land for him to lie down on.
Cussing out his negligence as he barely regained his balance, narrowingly avoiding a cold dive into the salty water, Leonard straightened his back, cracking the joints that were becoming stiff from sitting in one place for nearly an entire day and night at this point. It was as he resumed his slouching that Leo saw something on the horizon. “Huh?” It was a small dot coming into sight and growing bigger. Was it just his imagination? No; this was real. A huge sigh of relief escaped the wannabe sailor’s mouth as the profile of a ship began to grow on the horizon.
Immediately jumping upright, Leonard began to shout and wave his arms to catch the passing ship’s attention. “Oooooooooooooiiiiiii! Over here!!!! Man Overboard!!!!” After a few minutes of such flailing a loud banging noise echoes from the direction of the vessel, a wide cannon shot had been fired, signaling to the stranded young man that the ship had indeed seen him. From this distance Leonard had now way to know what kind of people might be his would be rescuers, but frankly he was not in any position to be picky, even if they were pirates, or slavers, that was still preferable to dying in the middle of nowhere. If worse came to worst, he would just have to figure out a way out from another predicament.
