Personality
To the outside world, Ahiga comes off like a stoic, heartless, ice-cold killer. He rarely speaks more than necessary or shows any emotions apart from negative ones, like discontent or anger. There's little to no humor to be found within him. At best, a dry and sarcastic remark will leave his lips. It should be no surprise that he doesn't make many friends, nor does he want to. Even just allies aren't very welcome. Ahiga simply favors working alone. Teammates would only distract him, or worse, mess up something, which would be beyond the assassin's control, but still fall back on him.
Ahiga is a skilled man, and accordingly proud of himself. Not arrogant mind you, but he knows what he can do loves showing off. Making a big entry is one of his favorite joys in life. His self-confidence can be a bit intimidating to his foes, in fact Ahiga counts on this. Targets are to be frightened when he finally confronts them. "Nothing can be worse than my training", he keeps telling everyone. Of course by now he knows he's not invincible, but his victims don't need to know that. He's fairly good at judging the challenge in front of him and will both try to push himself against somebody stronger as well as back out should he recognise it's too much for him to handle. That said, should it be necessary to sacrifice himself for the good of the government, he wouldn't hesitate for a second.
Even though he does enjoy fighting, he still sees no point in prolonging a battle or being unecessarily cruel. Every single one of his attacks is going for the kill, which he considers merciful.
While he doesn't personally 'hate' pirates or other criminals, Ahiga is loyal to the World Government beyond believe. Nothing and noone will convince him he's picked the wrong side. So much so, that he frequently challenges his believes and tries to understand why anyone would have a different opinion. This is why he likes to take his time with assassinations. He watches his targets closely during their every day lives and doesn't show himself until he thinks he has understood their motivations. This goes so far that one could definetely accuse him of scopophilia. In the end however, Ahiga always finds a way to explain to himself why the Government is still correct in any given situation.
In combat situations, Ahiga is calm, collected and had an unbelievable amount of patience. He analyses his opponent's style and begins to think about how to counter it immediately. It's very hard to annoy him to the point that he will get angry. The only sure ways to achieve this are a) endangering his pet or b) interfere with his fight.
There are very few situations where one can catch Ahiga outside of his ice cold killer mode. The first one being: When he's out of his mask. He will still act stoic and unapproachable, but without it he is way more open to his conscioussness catching up with him. Esspecially women have a much higher chance of being able to reason with him. Yet, Ahiga knows of this flaw as he'd call it and is weary to remove his outfit by now, since it cost him one of the few crushing defeats in his life. After seducing him, a female pirate caught him off guard and beat him to a pulp. This and a couple of other experiences like his childhood crush Chusi and his commanding Officer and foster mother during his teen years made him suspect most women as dangerous liars, traitors or just bad people in general.
The second thing in the world that makes him show his humanity is Ahiga's love for birds. In close proximity to one, he cannot help himself but turn into an overjoyed ball of cute, wanting nothing but pet them and feed them goodies all day. He is very protective of his own pets, keeping them out of harms way if at all possible.
Finally, the third situation where one could catch a glimps of a human being under the mask is during a meal. Ahiga absolutely loves his favorite foods and will freely sigh, moan and burp while he munches on some fries and slurps iced tea.
Appearance
Ahiga is a muscular young man with smooth dark bronze skin. He stands much taller than the average guy, a tower of well trained muscles, dwarving most. Yet, he isn't overly broadshouldered or heavy for his height by any means. His face is square, his nose a hook, his lips colourless, thin and usually wearing a frown, his dark brown eyes deep in their sockets, his hair shaved off. All of this makes his head appear unfriendly at best and unpleasant to look at for most.
On his head, Ahiga usually wears a mask that replicates the oversized head of a bald eagle. His torso lies bare, safe for two giant yellow wings stuck to his back, that flutter in the wind behind him like a cape when he runs. On his hands, he wears a pair of gloves, resembling a bird's talon, complete with sharp steel tips on his fingertips. On his legs, he only wears light gray cloth slacks.
Traits
- Inhuman Strength
- Inhuman Speed
- Inhuman Endurance: Ahiga has build up resistance to his body's need for rest, as long as he keeps running. Exhaustion is barely a thing for him while on the move, he can run, even use Geppou for hours on end before he collapses and has to make up for it all by sleeping twice as long as he ran.
Fighting Styles
Rokushiki
Focus: Hand to Hand Combat, Precise Strikes, Surprise Attacks
Rank: D
Description:
Ahiga has been raised to become the ultimate government assassin. He has learned to use 5 out of 6 Rokushiki techniques and has begun to learn variants and combinations of them. His particular interpretation of Rokushiki involves first getting the element of surprise, like closing in on the target from above or through one of the Mado Mado no Mi's windows to get the first hit of the fight in. After that, it's all about keeping the enemy busy by attacking nothing but vital areas om close combat, while blocking what is thrown at him using Tekkai.
Techniques
- Shigan (Finger Gun, Rank 2)
- Shigan Pençe (Finger Gun Talon, Rank 2): A variation of Shigan. Using his thumb, index finger and middle finger, Shigan Pençe aims to put three holes into a target instead of one.
- Shigan Pençe (Finger Gun Talon, Rank 2): A variation of Shigan. Using his thumb, index finger and middle finger, Shigan Pençe aims to put three holes into a target instead of one.
- Rakyanku (Storm Leg, Rank 2)
- Geppou (Moon Step, Rank 2)
- Tekkai (Iron Mass, Rank 2)
- Soru (Shave, Rank 2)
- Soru Yumurta (Shave Egg, Rank 3): A combination of Soru and Geppou. While high up in the air above the enemy, Ahiga uses Geppou and Soru at the same time to push himself towards the ground at high speed and crash into his opponent. It appears as if he vanishes in the air, only to reappear below, already on top of his enemy, ideally with his clawed gloves burried in their chest

It appears as if he vanishes in the air, only to reappear below, already on top of his enemy, ideally with his clawed gloves burried in their chest
- Mado (Window, Rank 1): With a swiping motion, Ahiga creates a window on a solid surface. The same technique deletes the window again. See fruit profile for more information.
- Gensou (Porthole, Rank 1): Winking, Ahiga turns one of his eyes into a window. The same technique deletes the window again. See fruit profile for more information.
Rank 0 Weapon - Talon Gloves
Rank 0 NPC - Ulak
Ahiga's pet bald eagle. It's an aging animal, already blind on one eye, that either sleeps or eats goodies of the day and rarely hunts his own food anymore. Ulak's main job is being cute and occasionally delivering letters to and from his master's bosses.
Background
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #1 [Excerpt]:
This will be the first of many research notes of yours truly, Vice Admiral Ilkin Hirsizi. The Sanaga Island Mission was successful. We were able to capture some promising young talent without predisposed opinions on the outside world. Three boys and three girls, each between the age of 5 and 7. We lost a man go the Somigra and the children are giving the guards sleepless nights with their yelling, but I believe this is worth it.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #4 [Excerpt]:
It's been only four days and already the children have tried to stage six escapes together. They aren't raised to be on any side in the global conflicts. But they just hate every outsider equally. However, I'm confident we'll get that out of them eventually.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #36 [Excerpt]:
We've arrived at the training grounds on Egitim Island. Tomorrow, the children will start their exercise. Given they are Inyagi kids, thus know a bit about the hunt already, we will first test their survival skills by leaving them here for the next five days.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #41 [Excerpt]:
The children seem to have elected a leader. Ahiga, the youngest among them, looks like he's already picked up more skills back home than his peers. Not only did they survive well fed, they organised an ambush for us when we got back. Obviously it was foiled. Yet, we cannot have rebellion like that when they have actually advanced in their training. We will isolate them from each other and redo the experiment.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #47 [Excerpt]:
The children succeeded, each and every one of them is well fed and healthy. Additionally, they have stopped throwing tantrums and are unable to conspire against us. However, they are quite miserable without social contact. I have decided to give each of them a pet to combat the loneliness. Starting tomorrow, we will have them do chores and exercise for their food.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #402 [Excerpt]:
While their progress seems to be going fine, the children are still asking questions. They want to know why they had to leave home, where their parents are, why they have to do what they are told. I have decided it's time to answer them truthfully.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #1416 [Excerpt]:
Today marks the fourth anniversary of Project Sanaga. Sadly, it also marks our first casualty. Our oldest, Chusi, used the skills we gave her to overwhelm her guards and was shot shortly after. It fills me with more pain than I would have anticipated, we've all grown quite attached to the kids. We will have to watch out more with the others, test their loyalty before we allow them more freedom. Especially since some of them seem to be crushed by this experience and might develop similar thoughts. Our young Ahiga in particular told me he had had some sort of crush on Chusi. However, surprisingly he also told me that's gone now and called her a traitor.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #2485 [Excerpt]:
On a personal note, this kind of progress scares me sometimes. For a twelve year old kid, Ahiga should not have this kind of physical strength, not even given our rigorous training. Even though he is the youngest, he vastly outranks his older peers in all areas.
Project Sanaga Daily Research Notes #8703 [Excerpt]:
I have recieved the order to allow Ahiga the use of lethal force against the others. I cannot believe I'm writing this, but the world needs to know: Over the years I have come to realise that what we are doing is wrong. We cannot allow this to continue. While I still stand by the need for the world government to grow agents like Ahiga, I disagree that this has to be at the expense of the others. These are our kids, I have come to love them like a father and I will not allow them to murder each other. Tonight, we run.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1 [Excerpt]:
Since Ahiga is the only asset left from Project Sanaga, we had to spend the first day rewriting his schedule. It's clear that the old Hirsizi, despite how much of a fool he was, has done a good job drilling justice into that boy's head. To think that he actually used his silly pet eagle to snitch on them all. However, just to show him who's boss so he doesn't get any ideas, we'll have him kill that beast first thing in the morning.
Signed,
Vice Admiral Yonka Valide
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1825 [Excerpt]:
Ahiga informed me today was his 18th birthday. I don't know why Hirsizi thought he should keep track of that, but I used the opportunity to have him have a go at me. Of course he stands no chance against a Vice Admiral, but it's impressive nonetheless. We are preparing his first outside mission. He already picked his costume.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1835 [Excerpt]:
Ahiga has successfully figured out the ex-pirate among the woodcutters of Oduncu island and learned his routine without one of the citizens even showing signs that they know of his presence. Even our mole inside the community had trouble monitoring our eagle man. It is expected that Ahiga will strike tomorrow.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1850 [Excerpt]:
Today marks the first sign of disobedience since the start of project Ahiga. Finally, Ahiga killed his target tonight. But when I asked him why he took so long, Ahiga replied that he wanted to get to know the man. He wanted to know why one would disobey the World Government, and didn't want to strike before he understood. When I told him that his target could have escaped before he could kill him, Ahiga simply declared that this would have been impossible. As good as he is, the boy is arrogant. I have ordered him to run in circles around the main mast until he learns his lesson.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1851 [Excerpt]:
According to the nighshift, Ahiga stayed stubborn until he finally collapsed of exhaustion when the sun came up. Training will have to be halted until he wakes up.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #1891 [Excerpt]:
Just like last time, Ahiga didn't attempt to kill his target until he received the altered order to bring her in alive. He claimed that he would have killed her tonight anyway. When I asked why he waited this long, he told me her story. About how her husband was shot by Marines during a dispute with nobles. About how she joined the revolutionary army and lead bank heists all over the West Blue for them. About how she got cold feet eventually, hid on this island, had a daughter with a barkeeper and expected a quiet life here. The target confirmed all of this, apparently in shock about how much Ahiga knew. Eagle boy told me that he wanted to know her full story to challenge and subsequently strengthen his believe in the government's justice. While I applaud the idea, I still find it too risky, despite his skill. The same punishment as last time has been applied. This is something my predecessor screwed up. It hurts our soldier's efficiency and it's too late for me to get it under control again. We will have to make due.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #2832 [Excerpt]:
Today, Ahiga failed a mission for the first time in his life. The target, Kaçak Firari, wanted for a whole 50 Million Beri, managed to badly wound him and escape after Ahiga stalked her for over two weeks. He is appropriately crushed and wants to follow her. I told him we will put someone else on the job for now. While his failure is unfortunate, this has been a good lesson for him.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #3001 [Excerpt]:
We have fed Ahiga a Devil Fruit today. The Mado Mado no Mi will help him become the ultimate assassin in the future. Ahiga shows great talent with this ability already.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #3407 [Excerpt]:
Ahiga almost died today. Something completely unnecessary too. While he was running in the air above the ship, he flipped out about a flock of birds he literally ran into. I haven't seen him even smile before, but this apparently had him so overjoyed he fell out of the sky and into the sea. Luckily we were able to fish him out. I'm convinced Hirsizi's faults will haunt me for the rest of my days.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #3515 [Excerpt]:
I found out about Ahiga's pet today. A giant owl he was feeding. I don't even know where he got it, I have never even seen it before. It's barely been over a hundred days since his accident at sea. I'm disappointed in his lack of discipline. We had him behead his little friend.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #3712 [Excerpt]:
Today Ahiga was forced to kill the sixth bird in three months that I caught him with. I suspect it doesn't even matter to him, he always agrees with a cold face that he did something wrong, but keeps going. At this point I'm inclined to just let him keep the next one, it's not interfering with his missions anyway.
Project Ahiga Daily Research Notes #4000 [Excerpt]:
This marks the final day of the so called Project Ahiga under my supervision. The boy has become an ice cold killer, whom nothing in the world can convince that the orders of his government are in any way unjust. He will do as he's told under any circumstance and the couple of eccentric behaviors we couldn't get out of him don't keep him from doing his job properly. I can firmly say this has been a great success.
