Both of them, Garuda and Pierce reacted in ways that were generally to be expected. Garuda had seemed a little reluctant at first when she had asked him to leave, but he did so. He at least respected her when she gave him orders. Not that she was trying to be a leader or anything. But he seemed to know when the time called for him to listen. That was at least a good thing, she had the feeling that the three of them would not be getting off this island easily. So he would probably be stuck with Pierce and her at least until they made it to the next island. She looked for a moment at her log pose, it was not set for the next island. Unfortunate, it was way too early for the log pose to be set, they would need to find another way to another island.
Pierce of course did not like that she was not following along with his plan. Even went so far as to exclaim in a desperate moment. It was quite funny, she would have laughed again had the situation not gotten extremely dire as the door beside her began to function. Well of course he would exclaim like that given what she was doing. Though honestly he should have more faith in her abilities to do such things. Not that he should get much of a choice to begin with, people who were being saved get no say in how they are saved. She affirmed that to herself as a voice echoed through the cell block. It was neither Garuda's, Pierce's, or her's. It emanated from the now open door, male and concerned it was most likely a guardsman. Or better the guardsman, she could vaguely tell by Pierce's' responses that this was the man they were looking for.
Pierce tried to keep him away, she wondered why for a moment. The job was so much easier if he entered and checked out the problem. Why was Pierce so against this plan, it was easily expedite their task of getting out of if they could take down the guy with the keys and spring Pierce safely. No matter, Pierce's pleas and insistence did nothing to sway the marine's determination to check out what happened. Good marine, good sense of duty, perfect for what she needed of him right now. Unaware of his danger the marine walked into the cell block moving slowly but surely towards Pierce's room. The door was left open behind him, sure she would have to move into line of sight of the door but it was unlikely there were any marines walking around here.
As Merle made his way to Pierce's cell room Syphalia walked out behind him. He was a fairly burly man, much larger than Syphalia herself, not that that had ever stopped Syphalia from knocking such a man out before. Timing her steps carefully she stepped lightly, so the sound of her footsteps were eaten by the sound of Merle's own. With each step she grew closer, her breath was held as she tried to make as little noise as possible as to not bother him. Then she pounced, her sheath, blunt as so to not actually hurt the man swung down quickly upon his head. A quiet thunk emanated across the room as the sheath came in contact with the back of his head knocking Merle out almost immediately. A solid hit had rewarded Syphalia with a quick knock out blow.
Moving quickly she caught Merle's body before he landed with a thud that would further alert people throughout the marine base. Gently she placed him onto the ground before quickly waking back to the doorway and tilting the door almost closed so not passing eyes might walk in. Coming back to the body she quickly searched his waist finding a ring of keys. Grabbing it she shuffled through the keys on the ring walking towards Pierce's cell. One by one she tried the keys out on the cell door.
"See nothing to worry about ... you wouldn't happen to know which key it is? I don't particularly want to try them all." Syphalia asked quickly in a sort of joking manner. She was about a quarter of the way through the multitude of keys, so far with no look in finding the one that was for Pierce's cell. In the back of her mind she was already formulating a plan to get out. The first part was finding Garuda, hopefully he did not stray too far. Then the hard part, getting Pierce as far as possible out without being noticed. And of course she couldn't even start to think about how they might find a new island to go to without her log pose set.
As a quick thought she asked Pierce "You would not happen to know the directions to another island would you?" She asked doubting that he would have an answer to this problem.
Mimic you can probably assume she'll find the key and unlock you, I did not put it in my post but its basically assumed
