Merry dug his webbed toes into the soft and shift underwater sands. They kicked up a bit of dirt that floated off until it couldn't be distinguished from the rest of the murky water. He brought his hand up and tore at the small fish he'd plucked up a few moments prior. It wasn't much but it took the edge off Merry's ravenous hunger. The fish let out a small trail of red, but no other predator would dare move to try and take the meal from Merry... not unless they felt comfortable becoming a meal themselves. Something darted at the edge of Merry's vision, but before he could nab it up the fish swam off. Well damn, Merry grumbled and finished devouring what he had already caught. He'd been waiting for nearly a full day for his real prey to arrive. He'd heard about them from a ship he'd...... visited.
A slaver ship, carrying fishmen cargo. Property not yet branded by the hoof of the soaring dragon. They would be laborers for the world nobles, just as soon as they were sold off. Until then, the slave ship in question was scheduled to make a routine stop at shell island in the east blue. The marine base there had agreed to offer some protection while they were at the port. Merry growled deep in his throat. Pathetic worthless humans trying to make slaves out of superior fishmen! Merry had already been near Shell island, so it wasn't hard to swim into the harbor and wait at its bottom.
A shadow blocked out the dim light from above... Merry pulled himself from his thoughts and looked up. The outline of a ship... a big ship. He gripped his giant beheading sword tightly and kicked off from the harbor's bottom. Swimming up to the surface he moved just near enough to the top of the water to get a view of the ship's flag... from what he had heard that was the same flag the slavers were supposed to have. About damn time Merry thought to himself as he dived down under the ship.
Just one more victim out at sea. Humans should just stay on the land like the dirt monkeys they are. Merry placed his left hand onto the bottom of the ship... a good strong wood. They must have paid a fair price for a nice ship like this. Merry pulled his arm back and then rammed his blade through the hull. The wood splinters and split under his strength... but it didn't pierce all the way through. It was thick too, how about that. Merry sneered and jerked his beheading sword free to give the ship another blow, this time tearing into the cargo hold of the ship. The water began to pool at the very bottom of the ship... and Merry smiled.
He pulled his sword free and moved over to another side of the ship... he had a couple more holes to make if he was going to sink this ship. Just wait brothers... soon Merry went to work tearing another hole into the ship. As he did so he heard a surprised gasp... looks like they actually had someone watching the cargo. A blurry form came into view just over the tear Merry had formed. The water bubbled up from the hole adding to the already growing pool in the bottom of the ship. A human, Merry's rage blossomed as he rammed his arm through the hole in the ship, grasping at the man's head. The splinters of the wood cut into his own skin, but the feeling of that soft flesh under his hand helped him ignore that fact. He formed a fist and felt what can only be described as a plum bursting. Drawing his hand back he saw red mix in with the water around him.
He licked his hand clean and started forming a third hole with his weapon. They were almost at the harbor, most the crew should have been topside to greet the marines and prepare to lay anchor. If Merry did this right, not a single one would ever set foot on that damn dock.
