Serah and Darius enjoyed their stroll back to Orange Town, having watched the scenery go by while the mid-afternoon sun fell iridescently upon their faces. The journey back had been pleasant, though uneventful, save for the ice-cream Serah had purchased for the pair. The affluent woman had really opened up on their excursion, becoming incessantly chatty along the way. It was through this facet that Darius came to know more about her and her past.
Serah was born the only heir to a noble family here on Organ Island. Her family had become rich through bounty hunting, and then through slave trading, and now through selling weapons. Her family had started out, capturing rogues, then they sold rogues, and now they had settled down, selling the means to capture rogues. Like a cycle, this pattern would most likely occur in someone else's family, it had just been chance that in this generation it was Serah's. She owned a good number of the stalls out on the plaza; the only reason she was there in the morning was to buy out the stall Darius had been ogling. But instead she had found him, and what a remarkable man he was! Ever-active, always a gentleman, and the swordsman even knew just the right words to say in any situation. To Serah Darius was everything; he had inadvertently taught the woman how to live again.
They came back to the plaza. The hustle and bustle of earlier had died down considerably, now everyone was at home counting their hard earned money, or lack thereof in the case of the shoppers. It was eerily quiet, which was odd, considering that his captain, Torin, was there with two other ladies. It would appear to the swordsman that he wasn't the only one with charms. Snickering at this fact, he pulled Serah along and rushed up to his nakama.
"Torin! Nice to see a playa 'round here! This is Serah-"
He paused, gesturing to his friend.
"-and this is Aphrodite."
Continued Darius. He ran a hand down his newly acquired Odachi, revelling in its novelty and apparent awesomeness. Darius made a point of doing a mini-circuit around the tsuba with his fingers, letting them run over the intricately designed metal guard, appreciating the pattern in all its permanent glory. Where as Aera was more or less made for show, Aphrodite was made for combat.
"I think I might call her 'Aph' for short. So, are you gonna introduce me to your companions?"
He said, ignoring the fact that the second one seemed to be dressed in prisoner's clothing and a little depressed...
