Name of Island: Jandama Island
Size of Island: Its rather small, a perfect circle actually.
Location: Warring Route, Grand Line
Flora and Fauna:
Well I’ll put it simply, there are two sides of the island. Because of odd wind shifts, one side acts as a Fall Island and the other a Spring Island. On the spring side, there are lovely grasses and flowers that cover the island which is rather hilly. One flower is especially coveted amongst them all, a dark red flower that is said to help recover ones strength with one sniff of its fragrance. It is an extremely rare flower that has almost been run out of existence. It is said that it no longer grows where the sun shines. On the fall side there are majorly large fruit bearing trees. Amongst them is one extremely large tree that dispenses something the villagers there call Iki Wain, a fruit that is naturally alcoholic. The juices of the fruit are extremely tasty, and it is called by many the Nectar of the Gods. Sadly the tree only fruits once a year and it is the only one of its kind that is known to exist at the moment.
There are basically no fauna upon the island. All animals have been killed by humans, or died off because of the constant change of season. There are only pets which the residents have and a few squirrels on the fall side and mice on the spring side. People have said there are giant insects that live in the tunnels but so far there is no actual evidence of them.
The island itself is not rooted into the sea floor, it floats around though, oddly placed currents hold it in a certain area so it doesn’t stray off the route. The island is protected by a semi permeable membrane that allows people in but keeps water out. This is because of a strong wind that blows every few hours flipping the island from the fall island on one side of the island to the spring island on the other half. Between the two sides is a large plate like land mass which has a maze of tunnels through it which go from one side to the other.
Inhabitants:
There are two opposing sets of inhabitants upon this island. Those that live on the fall side and those that live on the spring side of the island. There is no actual difference between the two groups of people accept for the fact that the majority of the people that live on the fall side are swordsmen and the majority that live on the spring side are martial artists. The two groups live at odds to one another, constantly at war in the tunnels neither has gained an upper hand yet.
NPCS:
“Hard Foot” Isaa Lonz: A young man who leads the forces on the Spring side of the island. He was popularly chosen by the people. He is called a genius at fighting with his feet and is almost unmatched in skill. He favors combo attacks with low sweeping kicks followed by fast upward kicks that end with axe-kicks. He is very sociable and is naturally charismatic. He calls his style Void Point.
“Light Spear” Haru Talla: She is the young leader of the Fall side, much like Isaa, she is charismatic and sociable. She has a much deeper hatred for the people of the spring side because they murdered her father in a secret assassination. She keeps for herself her father’s sword which is said to be on par with a O Wazamono Grade Sword. She is able to fight with one sword or two swords though she prefers one sword. She is very good at lunging strikes and elongated swordplay.
“Hermit” Jian Go: Living deep in the tunnels hes an extremely old (perverted) man who knows much of the history of the island. In his time he has lived on both the Fall and Spring side of the Island but has chosen instead to live in the tunnels. He was in his time a grand master of swordplay and hand to hand fighting on par with many of the greats of his time. (not like WB level or anything but maybe I dunno Commodore level). He comes and goes giving advice to strangers like where is best to eat, and who to look for, for help etc. It is said if you can bring him both the Nectar of the Gods and the dark red flower he will teach you one of his secret arts whatever it may be. .
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Spring Town: A small town that covers the majority of their side of the island. It has one main road that leads to the main dojo of the town where Isaa Lonz trains. There are other smaller dojos at the edges of the town, each dojo is the site of a tunnel entrance, there are approximately 6 entrances around the town. The town is also famous for dumplings, just a random fact.
Fall Town: A similarly small town with a two large roads that cross at the large Iki Wain tree in the center of the town. From the two large roads smaller roads and alleys cut off to living residences and the 6 holes which are on constant guard. In the north eastern corner of the town, many of the swordsmen have set up their own dojos to train. The three strongest swordsmen in the town excluding Haru Talla are set as guards for the Iki Wain tree. One of the holes is in the dojo area and one of the holes is right under the tree itself the other four are randomly placed around the town. This town is famous for its meat buns.
(I know not very creative, but you know people aren’t very creative)
Missions:
A Taste of Nectar: If you are in the spring town, there is a young woman who is willing to pay good beri for a taste of the supposed Nectar of the Gods. But then it only produces fruit at a certain time of the year. But maybe, there is some that is kept over the years in a hidden store. Watch out if there is such a store they must guard it well. Then again you can always just take the drink for yourself.
The Dojo Challenge: If you ever meet the hermit in the tunnels he will reward you by teaching you a new move if you are able to defeat all the dojo’s on one of the towns. And don’t lie he has sources you know. He hasn’t lived on this island forever for nothing. Remember they are battle hardened warriors that know how to fight any type of weapon. They also cry foul play if you use any inhuman abilities so be sure to be careful to keep any special abilities on the down low.
Island History: How this island was formed, even I can’t conceive, but it was originally just a large ball of earth floating in the water. Inside of the ball it was basically hollow except for a ground-like area going straight through the plane of the ball. In that time, many mice and squirrel came to live in the darkness of the dirt ball. Plants learned to live without sunlight and the “island” flourished. That was until man first came to the island, scrubbing against the outer surface they brushed away the dirt leaving only the hydrophobic membrane which had protected the island. Living at first only on the Spring side, the men lived at peace with those around them. That was until the island floated into the area it is in now and the winds flipped the ball upside down.
Lost in the underwater a new group of people came to live on the Fall side of the island. They scrubbed away their side and set up life on the island. Both sides lived in peace having no idea of the existence of the other. Until both started to run out of space, they started digging underground creating labyrinths and mazes of tunnels which now make up the tunnels that exist below ground in the island. When the diggers finally connected to the tunnels leading to the opposite side of the island they were amazed to find another civilization living on the same island as them. The two groups lived in peace for a while until finally war broke out. Around the same time the first records of the “Hermit” came into existence as he disappeared from both civilizations ever to live in the darkness of the caves. As the war continued on endlessly the two civilizations forgot the original reason for the war and it was forever lost to history. In the current age the two mentioned above lead each society in their war in the caves. The balance has never swung too far in one direction and the two groups are still in the continuous vie for power.
