It was the first time that Zansatsu came to an island and didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
The people on the island all looked very wealthy, at least as far as could be seen from where he was standing.
On man even scoffed at him as his clothes had become worn and torn in places, regardless of how decorative it was.
At this he decided it was time for a change of clothes so he looked for the nearest tailor.
He didn't have to walk long before he came upon a street with tailors everywhere, Zansatsu wondered about how wise it was to set up shop in a place where there is so much competition.
This thought was short lived as Zansatsu was suddenly swarmed by tailors hungry for custom.
Without waiting for even a hint of acceptance from Zansatsu they began to measure him from all angles and shout at him why they were the best tailors on the island.
Zansatsu sighed,"Listen, I don't have much money on me right now so the suit will have to be quite cheap."
This wasn't exactly true, he had more than enough on him to buy the most expensive suit on the street but he was trying to push them away so he could browse the different shops for himself.
Unfortunately it didn't have the effect that Zansatsu was hoping for, clearly these men were more desperate than Zansatsu had anticipated.
They continued to flock around him waxing about how they were the cheapest tailor around.
Zansatsu's patience soon wore thin.
A great killing urge swept over him like a tidal wave, however he kept his blood lust in check this one time, no need to cause a fuss before any real damage could be done after all.
"I am warning all of you, I will have to resort to violence if you don't cease your current actions."
At this the tailors decided that persisting in this matter was pointless and returned to their shops.
After a quick walk around Zansatsu noticed that one shop had very fine thread and walked inside.
"Welcome good sir!" This tailor had not gone out into the street along with the others, he was clearly making a nice living, a sign that he was likely the favoured tailor in these parts.
"I would like you to repair my clothing for me."
"Certainly, but, will you be able to pay upfront?"
"How much will it cost?"
"50,000 beri."
Zansatsu was gobsmacked at this, he couldn't even get close to affording it.
"I'm afraid that is slightly out of my price range."
The tailor gave Zansatsu an inspecting eye.
"Tell you what, if you perform in this play," The man pointed to a poster.
"And perform well at that, I will give you the repair job for free, and to top it off you will be paid by the stage company too. Quite a deal eh? The man in charge is a good friend of mine but he is in a spot of trouble, all the actors on their way over here were attacked by pirates so unless he gets some actors he will be ruined. Because of this he is paying me a lump sum for every actor I send over, so what do you think?"
"Well I certainly have at least some experience in theatre, I will do it!"
