Name of Island: Armadillo Atoll
Size of Island: As big as ThrillerBark
Location: Dream Route
Inhabitants: Anthropomorphic Armadilloes
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities: Roll Town: A small harbour town with a famous town hall. This hall has the Plankton Poneglyph, an unimportant Poneglyph made by the people themselves, that tells the history of Armadillo Atoll.
This town is also the only place in which houses make up the living quarters of everyone living there. This town also has many resteurants, though they all have coral, plankton and the local delicacy-grubs. You have to visit the capital for more meaty foods.
Armadillo Point: A village on a cliff overlooking the sea the locals live in mud mounds. The chief of this village is a shaman, who is very deceitful, and has tricked the villagers into thinking he is the god of Armadillo island and that the king is his prophet. Some aspiring armadillos can also find red tulips here.
Snouthampshire: A grandiose city which is surprisingly devoid of things to do, although If you like music and art this is where it's at They Armadillo Atoll court is also here, and this city also features a swampy forest with a favela in it, although the shanty houses are substituted for large mounds of mud in which the poor Armadillians live.
Dasyshoal:The huge capital of Armadillo Atoll is here, this city spans half of the island. The king lives here, and knows everyone in his city, entry is barred unless invited. The mud mounds of the favelas are also here, but in a grander fashion. This architecture is to show that Armadillo Atoll is ruled by a fair and equal king. Ironically, the kings palace is a collection of mud mounds, fused with a normal house.
Flora and Fauna: The flora isn't very varied, and consists only of tulips, although red ones are more precious and can be sold for a few hundred beri if in the right condition. The trees in Snouthampshire's favela are mangrove trees, but oak trees grow everywhere else.No one is sure of how the oak trees got there, as it isn't mentioned in the Plankton Poneglyh.
Island History:Armadillo Atoll began as just a collection of coral polyps deep under the sea, after thousands of years this coral grew big enough to be mistaken for a freaky island, and three hundred years later, thats what it became. The island was unihabited for hundreds of years, and only when the Tennrybuuito deposited hundreds of tonnes of mud and earth onto it as well as a few "vermin" did things start to flourish. The armadillos didn't starve, but became resourceful and ate the coral that grew near the shore. The World Nobles saw this and requested that their scientists poison some of the coral. Instead the mutated coral gave the armadillos anthropomorphic features, and this trait continued down through the ages to this day. Some time between the mutated coral and the World Nobles returning to the island, the armadillos learned to read and write, and the early ones made the Plankton Poneglyh. Although the language of the early ones has died out the Plankton Poneglyph still remains and each young armadillo is taken to see it as part of their transition from child to adult. When the first "early one" died he requested to see the poneglyph and this sparked one of the traditions of Armadillo Atoll. The armadillos are aware of humans but many still treat them as myth since armadillos don't have very good eyesight, and believe in a "seeing is believeing agenda. The World Nobles are still aware of the islands inhabitants, but seem to not care as they haven't been there in centuries. They still regard them as scum though.
