Name of Island: Athens
Size of Island: A very large island comparable to Shabondy Archipelago. With a varied geographical features many rocky mountains and plateaus along with flat grass land.
Location: Fairytale Route
Inhabitants: There are many humans and pirates living here. Some say a group of pirates even formed a smuggling ring.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
Chryse (Pronounced Tri-see): The main city on the island and one of the only safe place on the entire island. Chryse is as close as you could get to heaven for cooks. With many types of spices grown on the island and plenty of land to farm this town economy is solely based on agriculture.
The market district in the east side of the city offers a variety of spices, and freshly grown vegetables and fruits along with their famous Chryse Vintage Wine. Also on sale are many kinds of cooking equipment. You can try to steal some if you want, but be warned marines patrol the streets daily. If you leave out side the east gate you can find a overpriced meat shop. The meat with out a doubt is of the highest quality you ever might see, but the prices are shockingly high.
To the north is a plaza offering places to stay and rest. A once a month cooking contest is held here. Chefs from all over come to battle it out to see who is the best chef. The contest is separated into three stages speed, skill, and the cook-off. In the first stage contestants must make a giant chopped salad as fast as they can. Of course it's not only about speed but their knivesmenship. In the next stage participants are giving a taste of a dish made by one of the judges. They must replicate it as close as they can. In the third stage the remaining contestants cook their signature or best dish.
In the west are the town residency where the townsfolk live. Outside the town walls are the various farms and plantation that grows the food and cows and stuff. Finely, to the south is another market where adventures can buy everything else non-cooking related.
Marine Base: The marine base is station to the north of Chryse, so there are always a few marines in the town. This base isn't anything out of the ordinary, but they are trying to find and eradicate the smuggling ring.
Abandoned Mine: On the northern tip of Athens is an abandoned mine leading to the main entrance of the underground smuggling ring. The place is heavily guarded by ruthless pirates. The marines know about this place but avoid it as every squad sent there has disappeared.
Hannai: Once you find the entrance in the mine and open it you'll be in the middle of this city/fort. Landing here would mean an almost certain death. It will not matter if you are a marine, fellow pirate, or bounty hunter if you are found here you will be killed.
Labyrinth: A complex and dangerous maze filled with nasty genetic mutations of all sorts. It has a secret entrance on the southern tip of the island. The walls in this maze have a skeleton of seastone on the inside, so trying to break it is impossible. It is covered with rock so you can still use your Devil Fruit powers. When and if you solve the maze you will find a rock wall leading to a back entrance to the underground ring. It has on minor differences from the labyrinth wall so most people just see it as a dead end.
Smuggling Ring: Located underground this ring smuggles a highly addictive drug called Ageranil. Once they refine the raw sample from the tree they make it into this drug. It temporarily increases adrenaline by a large amount and taking too much could lead to a heart attack. Fortunately most doctors will recognize the small, triangular, black pills and warn the crew.
Flora and Fauna: Athens has a huge variety of spices and on the farms there are even more.
The Asacci Grape Vine: A vine growing grapes this plant only grows in dark damp environments. This grape can make very good wines if aged properly.
In the underground ring there is the Agernil tree.
Agernil: The sap of this tree is very unique because of the fact that it can produce Epinephrine (adrenaline). This plant has a black colored bark and leaves that are purple. This plant was never meant to exist, the people who used to live here made it through their extensive knowledge of genetics.
Also located in the Labyrinth are many monsters.
Minitaurus: A half bull and half human specimen. Their strength is equal to a pirate captain. There are usually three of them roaming the labyrinth.
Chimira: A hybrid of a dragon lion and snake. With a lions body Dragons head and a snake for a tail this is a fearsome beast. Being able to breath fire and inject venom. Though having three heads makes it hard to decide what to do.
Skinx: The most intellectual of all the monsters in this maze. It will not attack you on sight, but it will if you fail to answer its riddle. If that's the case the sphinx grows to the size of a small house and tries to stomp you.
Hydru: The most dangerous of all the animals on this island. This creature has the regenerative properties of a starfish. The only ways to kill the beast is with poison or by completely decapitating all of its heads. Be careful if you use the latter as cutting off a head means two will slowly move back.
Island History: No one know how this island started as it has been there for as long as history can remember. The people who lived here log ago were masters of genetic manipulation. From this knowledge they created the beasts. Though they could create the creatures their abilty to control them was questionable to say the least. One day the sentient creatures escaped their cages and rampaged around the base. Eventually they were able to contain them, but the counsel of the civilization decided to lock away their creation for ever. Construction on the labyrinth started with mining the seastone deposits in the mine. They were lock in there for eternity. After that they decided to dispose of their plant creations among these the agernil tree. They decided the best way would be to flood the roots with salt water. They pack up all the plant up on a ship to sail it out to sea. Grand line weather is unpredictable and by no means are these people expert navigators. A storm formed where the ship was sailing and blew the seeds of the agernil tree over the land. Years later the civilization died of unknown causes and their knowledge lost forever. Many centuries later marines started to inhabit the island because of the amount of seastone still in the mine. While getting some more seastone they discovered a huge vein of gold. That attracted many people hoping to strike it rich. Some did other didn't. When the vein ran out the locals realized that the island was amazing for farming and the economy switched from mining to agriculture. Then some pirates landed on the shores of the island. The marines chases them until they reached the mine. One of the crews doctors notices a seed from the agernil tree and followed it to the hidden entrance loosing the marines. The doctor explained the seed and planted the seed to start the smuggling ring.
