The small Sloop sliced through the waves, running before a brisk wind into the bustling harbor. A tall man stood leaning against the bow railing, a large canvas sack laying at his feet. The harbor looked far busier then he had remembered, and it looked as if they had extended it somewhat since he was last here.
He sighed, eight years was a long time. He heard a cough behind him and looked over his shoulder at a fat man in a greasy sea coat standing behind him.
"Were almost in port Malachi, I think its time I got the other half of the fee" he said, holding out a grubby hand.
Malachi sighed again before reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a small leather bag, which he threw at the fat man. The man snatched it out of the air quick as a snake and made it disappear faster then one could think was possible.
"Thank ye for your business" the man said in an oily tone, backing away when Malachii didn't respond with anything but a irritated wave...
As they pulled into the dock, Malachii didn't wait for the ship to be tied off, he jumped over the railing and landed on the dock with a loud thump, almost stumbling but catching himself just in time. He straightened, standing up to his full height of over six feet and throwing the bag over his shoulder. He took a deep breathe and held it a moment before smiling and letting it out.
"I wonder how the Benten's are doing" he said out loud as he walked down the docks towards the house he remembered, his sword and pistols drawing a more then a few curious looks...
