}Personality
Compulsive Helper
Whenever Garrett sees someone who needs help, he can’t help but want to help them even if it is a terrible idea. Some would describe him as a sucker, and they’d be right. If he refuses to help someone, it’ll eat away at him until he does something about it, much to his great annoyance.
Haunted Hypocrite
Haunted by guilt and his own regrets, Garrett barrels down the nearest and easiest path to self destruction without a moment’s hesitation. When he sees others doing the same thing or other harmful habits, he’ll give them a piece of his mind. He’s the purest example of “Do as I say, not as I do” that one can find.
Stubborn Bastard
There are not many people more stubborn than a bull, but Garrett is one of those people. He can also be a little bit of a jerk. He’s incredibly stoic and doesn’t open up easily. To those that have earned his ire, he’s also extremely unforgiving and ruthless.
Sarcastic Wit
An extremely intelligent and strategic mind, Garrett is always calculating his next move and observing his opponent. He’s perhaps too smart for his own good and never lacks witty response or sarcastic barb. He’s sharp, knows what to say and do and when he should do them.
No Rest for the Wicked
Garrett generally sees the worst in himself, burying himself in self loathing. He pushes himself in his merciless hunt for the wicked, guilty, and sinners. They don’t get to rest because he’s always hunting them. He doesn’t get to rest because he doesn’t deserve it. The guilty must be punished, himself included.
Appearance
A tall, dark, and downright intimidating figure, Garrett has pale brown skin with silver hair and bright red eyes. His body is covered in an assortment of scars with two black wings sprouting from his back. His musculature is well defined and toned. His nose is aquiline. When he doesn't take care of himself, he looks rather scruffy with long hair and a beard and mustache.
For clothes, Garret wears a simple shirt and vest combination. His pants allow him freedom of movement and boots allow him mobility in most terrains. He often wears a trench coat with a mantle and a red scarf around his neck. He’s seldom seen without his trademark Stetson hat and guns at his back and hip. Strapped to his leg is a holster for his combat knife and pouch for extra ammunition.

}Strong Arm of the Law
Tier ★
Strength
Almost supernaturally strong, Garrett's ragged frame holds surprising strength. He's capable of performing incredible feats of strength that no ordinary person could hope to achieve as well as lift massive weights that would crush lesser men.
Lunar Flame
Tier ★
Flame Generation
Descended from the legendary Lunarians, Garrett is able to generate and wield the flames of his ancestors so long as the flame that he carries is lit. Garrett is able to extinguish or light the flame within him at will, though he takes care to avoid showing his flame to anyone but those he is about to kill.
Deadeye
Tier ★
Accuracy
Through years of training, Garrett has become one of the best damn shots out there. His accuracy is unerring, far beyond what an ordinary person could achieve. Once he has his sights set on you, escape is incredibly difficult.
Tough Luck, Swift Vengeance
Tier ★
Toughness <-> Speed
While his Lunar Flame is active, Garrett becomes tougher than normal. He can shrug off injuries that would cripple or maim other people. He’s by no means invincible, but he’s difficult to take down. Conversely, when his flame is extinguished, Garrett is faster than the average person. While moving around, he’s very difficult to hit and gains ground on his quarry with frightening speed.
Quick Draw
Tier ★
Reflexes
Able to respond and react to stimuli faster and more accurately than the average person, Garrett has incredible reflexes. These reflexes serve him well as a bounty hunter both in combat and in the event of an ambush. He's very difficult to take by surprise as not much escapes his notice.
Itchy Trigger Finger
Tier ★
Dexterity
Out of necessity and through long years honing his marksmanship in the Marines, Garrett has incredibly dexterity. He's able to shoot a gun at a speed that won him several competitions in the Marines. This dexterity also extends to his other weapons of choice, knives and his chain and hook. He's just incredibly quick with his hands, allowing him to attack quickly.
Eagle Eye
Tier ★
Sight
Garrett has always had incredibly good eyesight. He's able to see farther from further away and can pick up on movements and things that others might miss even after looking for a good long while. He even has good dark vision, as his eyes rapidly adjust to lighting. This keen eyesight makes it difficult for anyone to hide from him and makes him capable of tracking high speed movement.
Scattershot
Tier ★
Shockwave Rounds
Special bullets of Garrett's own design, the scattershot rounds are incredible good at causing widespread destruction in whatever they hit. When the bullet hits a target, the round explodes within the target, sending a shockwave and shrapnel through it, allowing Garrett to damage a wide area with just a single bullet.
Bullseye
Tier ★
Piercing Marksmanship
Garrett is able to discern a point in a target that, when hit with a bullet, is capable of piercing through the target entirely. He uses this to pierce materials that could ordinarily protect against gunfire, allowing him to still damage his target.
Whipcrack
Tier ★
Flying Attacks
A trick he learned as a bounty hunter, Garrett has learned how to put enough force behind a blow to make it fly past his usual reach and strike a distant target. Cracking a whip creates a blade of air that flies at opponents to strike them. Slicing with his knife or kicking creates a similar blade of air. He just has to put the right amount of force and technique behind it.

Combat Knife
Equipment
}Chain Speargun
A speargun of somewhat unique design, this speargun has been modified to utilize a chain. Once launched, the barbed end of the chain pierces its target and can be reeled back into the barrel of the gun to be launched again.
Six Shooter
A revolver designed to hold six rounds at once, this Six Shooter can be fired rapidly in succession. It needs to be reloaded after its rounds are expended.
Hook and Chain
Separate from his spear gun is a heavy duty chain and hook. Garrett can use this like a lasso or whip to ensnare or strike enemies out of reach.
Combat Knife
This combat knife can be used in close quarters combat.

Techniques
}Name: Heartseeker
Aspect(s): Lunar Flame, Deadeye
Summoning his Lunarian Flame, Garrett sends it onto his speargun and ignites the chain. When fired, the flaming chain pierces its target and continuously burns them.
Name: Firebreather
Aspect(s): Lunar Flame
In a sudden burst of flame, Garrett ignites, licks of flame slipping from between clenched teeth. With a roar, he unleashes a plume of flame directly onto a nearby target, incinerating them.
Name: Bandolier
Aspect(s): Eagle Eye, Quick Draw, Itchy Trigger Finger, Deadeye
Whipping his hook and chain at an oncoming volley of bullets, Garrett catches the bullets in the links of the chain. Whipping the chain toward himself, he can rapidly slot the bullets into his revolver and reload with his opponent's bullets.
Name: Red Devil
Aspect(s): Lunar Flame, Whipcrack, Deadeye
Setting his chain alight with lunarian flame, Garrett cracks it like a whip and sends a blade of flaming, spinning air at an opponent. The spinning air turns the flame into a huge fire tornado that Garrett can aim with pinpoint accuracy and even curve around obstacles to hit his target.
Name: One Bullet Cannonade
Aspect(s): Deadeye, Scattershot, Eagle Eye, Bullseye
Taking aim at an object that either Garrett himself threw on an oncoming projectile (like a cannonball), Garrett fires a single bullet with pinpoint accuracy. The bullet pierces the target, sending a shockwave through it, and making it explode into several pieces with the same velocity and force as the original bullet. These pieces then strike a variety of targets, according to Garrett's calculations, turning one bullet into potentially hundreds.
Name: Whiplash
Aspect(s): Whipcrack, Deadeye
Cracking his chain like a whip, Garrett sends a blade of air at an opponent. This attack is usually meant to subdue and incapacitate rather than kill, so he tends to aim it at the legs of his opponents to make them fall to the ground.
Name: Hellhole
Aspect(s): Lunar Flame, Itchy Trigger Finger
Wrapping his chain around his hand and setting it ablaze, Garrett spins his chain around in a vortex, creating a partial vacuum that sucks things into its high temperature center.

Background
}Garrett was the result of a one night stand between his career Marine mother and his Lunarian father. His mother swiftly apprehended his father once she realized the truth of who and what he was. His father was a wanted criminal having a significant bounty for essentially trying to commit genocide against the human race. He’d wiped an island off the map during his conquest, but, for some reason, did not resist when Garrett’s mother, Holliday Chloe, apprehended him. He was taken to Impel Down while Chloe found out a few weeks later that she was pregnant.
Despite the circumstances surrounding his conception, Chloe wanted to keep her child. Half Lunarian as he was, life would be incredibly difficult for him. She knew this, but she wanted to work from within the Marines to have him grow up safe and not have to worry about a World Government bounty on Lunarians. That wasn’t going to happen in nine months, so Chloe made arrangements with a friend sworn to secrecy to help her give birth. When her son was born, he looked almost exactly like a Lunarian despite her hopes that he would simply take after her. Silver hair, red eyes, and black wings. The only boon was that his skin was pale though it tanned to a dusty brown with enough exposure to sunlight.
Garrett’s childhood home was an archipelago on the fringes of the West Blue called the Sunstar Islands. He was raised in the care of a former outlaw Pearl Hart and his mother, the Marine superstar, Holliday Chloe. Pearl taught a young Garrett everything he knew about sharpshooting and ranching. When his mother would come home from her deployments, she told him all sorts of stories about Justice and the great exploits of the Marines. He had it in his head that he was going to be the best lawman the world had ever seen and was gonna change the world for the better.
Around when Garrett was sixteen, his life would forever be changed. Bounty hunters arrived in town. Garrett always thought bounty hunters were cool. Heroes on the edge of the law that did things the Marines couldn’t or wouldn’t. Unfortunately for Garrett, they were here for Pearl, a fact he only learned when it was too late. Pearl sent him out to tend to the cows as he usually did. When he came home, their house was in flames. He ran to the town square only to see Pearl standing atop the gallows. He lunged to save her, but his mother appeared, seemingly out of nowhere and grabbed him, pulling him away as Pearl spotted him and smiled as sweetly as usual. Garrett didn’t see the floor drop out from underneath her, but he heard it, and he heard the cheers of the crowd of townsfolk as she hung. There and then, Garrett swore that one day he’d burn this town to the ground. There would be justice for Pearl.
Unfortunately for Garrett, this kind of justice wasn’t World Government sanctioned. Pearl had had a bounty. Legally, those bounty hunters were within their rights. It didn’t make it right, but what they’d done technically didn’t violate any laws. It was the first time that Garrett had doubts about the Marines. Still, he went to the officer’s academy as he and his mother had planned. He obtained medical training, most notably in dentistry, but enough general medical knowledge to serve as a combat medic and officer. He graduated with top marks years later and was granted the rank of Ensign.
At his graduation ceremony, Vice Admiral Holliday, Garrett’s grandmother bestowed onto him his rank. She had always been a stern woman from the few times that Garrett had met her. She was strict, severe, and almost seemed to have something against him or his mother. That didn’t mean she kept her distance purposefully. Rather, whenever she was around, she went out of her way to correct Garrett, always nosing around and finding fault with him one way or another. At the graduation ceremony, she seemed almost sad, which only served to confuse Garrett all the more.
Garrett put all of his family drama behind him as he threw himself into his work. He honed his marksmanship further, winning several shooting competitions within the Marines. He found a best friend in a fellow Ensign named Jesse James who stuck with him through thick and thin after Garrett saved Jesse’s life.
Jesse would have the chance to return the favor when Garrett was grievously wounded in a battle with a pirate crew that had washed out from the Grand Line. Garrett managed to beat them back but swiftly passed out after the encounter. Jesse carried him on his back to the medical tent and stripped his friend down to find two black wings hidden away under his clothes. Jesse realized what this meant and tended to Garrett’s wounds himself, hiding away his friend’s wings from others.
While Garrett was recovering, his mother was injured in the line of duty by the very bounty hunters, now turned pirates, that had killed Pearl. When Garrett heard, he rushed to his mother’s bedside only to find that she had entered a coma. Garrett was so frustrated. If only something had been done about those bounty hunters before when they’d killed Pearl, this never would have happened. Garrett grew increasingly disillusioned with the Marines’ so-called justice, blaming himself for not taking action when it mattered. Sometimes one needs to take matters into their own hands to see things set right. Garrett adopted an alter ego, dressing up with a mask and cloak. He still hid his wings and flame unless absolutely necessary.
He became a Marine by day, and a vigilante by night, employing his own particular brand of Frontier justice. He could punish even those technically protected by the law in this way, like bounty hunters, corrupt officials, and even crooked Marines. His exploits earned him a reputation and a bounty. Garrett felt a certain amount of irony when looking at his own wanted poster. He was also making a name for himself in the Marines, having earned a promotion to Lieutenant for having led his squad to victory against an infamous pirate captain.
During one of his outings as a vigilante, Garrett got caught in the crossfire between the criminals that he was hunting and Marines that showed up to apprehend them. His grandmother happened to appear and catch him, eyes widening as she pulled the bandana from his face. Fortunately, they were alone. She scolded him, telling him that he was just like his father - a person Garrett had scarcely heard about - a criminal. Evil ran in his blood, but she wouldn’t allow him to go down that path. Breaking his wings, Garrett’s grandmother told him that he was going on extended medical leave from the Marines until he was ready to truly tread the path of justice once more. Garrett was confused and shattered about the whole thing. He tended to his broken wings first, but then spent the first part of his medical leave looking into his father. He gained admittance to Impel Down and saw the monster that was his father in the flesh. Speaking with him once was all Garrett needed to hate him with every fiber of his being, and, by extension, himself for being related to someone like this.
During his medical leave from the Marines, Garrett obtained a bounty hunting license. He didn’t feel worthy of returning to duty, and thought that he was best suited to become bounty hunting trash. This path would at least allow him to help others genuinely and perhaps give him some more perspective on Pearl’s killers. Mostly though, it was an excuse to stew in self-loathing.
