}Personality
Watchful Warden
In large part due to her history, trust is not something that comes easily to Sedna. While she believes that there are more good people than bad people, Sedna prefers to verge on the side of caution. Those that want to do you harm usually will when you’re least expecting it. She remains vigilant at all times and seldom throws caution to the wind. She keeps a watchful eye on her surroundings so as never to be taken by surprise. She’s calculated and meticulous, and oftentimes comes off as cold as a result.
Glacial Heart
Sedna is very reserved around other people. It isn’t because she’s truly cold hearted or apathetic. Really, she grows quite fond of her companions rather quickly, displaying a kindness and warmth to them as if they were her own family. Sadly, she tends to push others away because she’s afraid to grow close with them. She doesn’t want to lose anyone again or be betrayed by those that she trusts. This fear of attachment can make her quite lonesome.
Relentless Hunter
Once Sedna has her sights set on something or someone, nothing will stop her in her relentless pursuit. She’s unceasing and stubborn to the detriment of her own health. Her strong moral code doesn’t allow her rest when her prey is within reach. Her anger seethes under the surface like some massive sleeping leviathan. Her blood runs cold, and there’s no trace of mercy in her eyes when she finally does cut down her quarry.
Fierce Protector
Despite what her advanced age might lead one to expect, Sedna does not handle loss particularly well nor has she experienced it a lot in her long life. She views those that aren’t as long lived as her as fragile. Something to be protected at all costs. At any cost. For those that cannot fight, for those that cannot protect themselves, she fights. Her blood spilled willingly in order to protect others. This is part of the reason why Sedna wishes to become the World’s Strongest Swordsman.
Craven Desperation
There exists a somewhat paradoxical flagrant disregard for her own life. Perhaps because she is so long lived, Sedna feels an intense need for her life to have meaning and significance. She’s desperate for it to mean something even if she has to carve a scar on the world. That feeling only intensifies as time passes. She fears deeply being powerless, used up, significant, and forgotten. Too often, she was forced to feel that way. Never again.
Appearance
Despite being well into her second century of life, Sedna maintains a rather youthful appearance. Her hair is a light green akin to the color of sea foam. She prefers to wear it short, but a long time in captivity has rendered it quite long, reaching down to the ground. Her right eye is a deep teal color similar to her hair and her skin is soft and pale like freshly fallen snow. Her left eye is white as she is completely blind in it. She has a scar under her right eye and the left half of her face has a rather horrific burn scar. Other scars are scattered about on her arms and tail fin, but they’ve faded with time. Her tail is a dark sea green color with a white underbelly. It can split into two legs, which she uses to get about on land. While she has her tail, Sedna's total length is 13'7" (414 cm) and with her tail split into proper legs, her standing height is 8'4" (255 cm).
These days, Sedna’s wardrobe consists of whatever her cult deems appropriate for her to wear. Usually, these are clothes that would suggest divinity, white and flowing. Sedna’s preferred style is actually darker colored clothes that are well fitted and allow her to move around more easily on land.

Morskaya Ved'ma | Mорская Bедьма | "Sea Witch"
Focus: Water Manipulation, Gentle Swordsmanship, Bleed
Description:
Command of the seas and storms was once Sedna’s domain. Since her fall from grace, she can hardly muster an ounce of her prior power. Regardless, Sedna is determined to remaster the art of water manipulation as well as its many specialties in order to manipulate the battlefield to her advantage. Her swordsmanship focuses on surgical precision that allows Sedna to make attacks that strike at an opponent’s most critical points. Specifically, Sedna will usually target areas of the body that will cripple, maim, or bleed profusely with minimal force required. This fighting style is especially dangerous due to her experience in medicine, which she uses to maximum effect in whittling down stronger opponents or incapacitating weaker ones outright.

Tier ★
Recovery
A large part of Sedna’s longevity is due to her amazing regenerative abilities. Injuries that would be fatal to ordinary people or that might maim or cripple them are swiftly healed for Sedna. She’s able to come back from just about anything given the time to recuperate and heal. Even in the short term, her stamina recovers much faster than an ordinary person’s stamina, giving her an edge in outlasting an opponent.
Ice Cold Heart
Tier ★
Longevity & Cold Resistance
Due to her unique physiology as a Greenland Shark Merfolk, Sedna possesses a very unique constitution. Her body is adapted to extremes, allowing her to survive and even thrive in extremely cold temperatures. She ages much more slowly than most creatures, in large part thanks to her unique constitution, to the point where she has outlived several generations.
Scarred Veteran
Tier ★
Toughness
Sedna’s experiences in the New World and as an experiment have dramatically affected her sense of pain. She’s unable to feel pain as acutely as she once did, which leads to her shrugging off things that would otherwise cripple someone else with agony. Her body is durable as well, but this inability to sense pain does mean she’s prone to pushing it beyond its limits.
Sever
Tier ★
Steel Cutting
With decades of skill, Sedna is able to slice through materials that some would not think possible as though it were butter. Her blade glides effortlessly through most materials due to her magnitude of skill, giving Sedna the appearance of almost supernatural skill.
Hemorrhage
Tier ★
Delayed Cuts
So precise is Sedna with a blade that she can make cuts so fine that her opponent does not even feel them until she wishes for it. Moving excessively can cause these cuts to rupture and actually do severe damage or Sedna can set off the rupture with a well timed strike or cut with her blade.
Call of the Sea
Tier ★
Water Manipulation
Sedna has always possessed a natural talent for manipulating the sea as though it were second nature. She can control and manipulate water as if it were an extension of her body. She can form water into complex shapes and strike with it from afar.
Icy Fingers of Death
Tier ★
Ice Generation
Extending her mastery over water further, Sedna can flash freeze water at will. She can generate ice from sweat, blood, water vapor, and other liquids, usually forming very sharp weapons out of them. Her ability to freeze things can extend to fluid filled things like fruits or people. She’s very dangerous when she generates her ice.

}Name: Drotiki Akuly | дротики Aкулы | "Shark Darts"
Aspect(s): Water Manipulation ★, Sever ★
Description:
Gathering up a droplet of water onto her palm, Sedna can flick it with such precision and skill that it launches off with the force of a bullet. The water takes the shape of a tiny shark in flight, its body honing to fine points and edges, and pierces the opponent. When this is done with blood, this technique is called Krovavyye Akuly | Кровавые Aкулы | “Blood Sharks”.
Name: Krovotochashcheye Serdtse | Кровоточащее Cердце | “Bleeding Heart”
Aspect(s): Hemorrhage ★, Sever ★
Description:
Sedna makes a succession of small cuts on her opponent so fine as to be imperceptible. If the opponent moves too vigorously, the cuts will rupture all at once, causing immediate and tremendous blood loss. Alternatively, Sedna can also activate the rupture by following up with another slash from her own blade.
Name: Dvoynyye Brinikly | Двойные Бриниклы | “Twin Brinicles”
Aspect(s): Water Manipulation ★, Ice Generation ★
Description:
Forming whatever liquid is around into twin blades resembling shotels, Sedna swiftly freezes them into shape. This allows her to create weapons for herself at almost any time.
Name: Prilivnaya Volna | Приливная Волна | “Tidal Wave”
Aspect(s): Water Manipulation ★
Description:
Spreading her arms wide in a source of water or other fluid, Sedna grabs the water and swings her body around, twisting with great effort as she launches a massive tidal wave at her opponents. The water washes away anyone caught in its path and bludgeons them with the sheer force of its movement.

Background
}Born in Lemuria, an ancient kingdom of Merfolk that was launched into the sky long ago, Sedna’s life started quietly. It did not remain so when it became evident that she was decidedly different from the other children in Lemuria. She aged much more slowly. This fascinated the Elders. That fascination quickly turned into obsession. Some elders lauded her as a goddess descended from on high. Others had more sinister intentions.
Lemurian society began to revolve around the worship of a very confused and lonely Sedna. She certainly didn’t feel special, and the predatory and servile stares from her followers made her feel deeply uncomfortable. Increasingly, Sedna got the feeling something terrible was about to happen.
Her premonition proved all too true when the Elders came to her asking for her divine blessing. They took it in the form of her blood. The Elders believed that if someone drank of her blood that they would be bestowed the gift of immortality. They only took a little each time, but the cuts added up. Soon, the whole congregation was asking for a bit of her blood. More cuts, more pain, more blood.
It continued like this until a small faction of Elders grew frustrated. Sedna’s blood wasn’t enough. In the night, one ambushed her in her chamber with a knife, trying to carve out her eye. Sedna managed to fend off her attacker, but the knife left a deep cut under her eye. She fled into the night, and even when the danger had passed, Sedna felt a nauseating dread at the thought of returning in the morning. She solicited an Octopus Balloon’s assistance and fled to whatever hidden worlds awaited below the White Sea.
Unfortunately for Sedna, the world that awaited her was not kind to Merfolk, not that she was at all aware of that at first. She found an island where she took up residence, keeping away from the town filled with humans because she was scared to approach other people. During a storm one day, Sedna saw a human child fall into the sea. They were unable to reach the surface due to the vicious currents pulling them deeper and deeper. Against her better judgment, Sedna saved the child.
This earned her the love and admiration of the town. Sedna was more than a little apprehensive at this change in their behavior, given her history, but the children of the town were especially curious about her. They brought her things like flower crowns and especially cool rocks or bugs that they’d caught, which slowly whittled down her defenses. She opened herself up a little, allowed herself to be hopeful, and for several years, it was good. Children grew into adults and started having children of their own. It was then that Sedna really began to feel her age and how little she’d changed over the years.
Growing restless, Sedna exchanged tearful farewells with the small town as she set off to chase rumors of a kingdom of Merfolk and something called Fishmen. A journey across the Grand Line filled with close encounters with not so kind humans where she learned why Merfolk were more akin to the stuff of myth and legend. They were hunted. Prized. Sedna swiftly learned how to defend herself through swordsmanship and put whoever dared set their eyes on her in their place or otherwise managed to escape.
Even still, the journey was arduous, long, and difficult. Sedna grew frustrated with how slowly she was making progress. Navigating the Grand Line was basically impossible alone. Sedna was just about to give up and go back to the little town on the coast when she ran into a strange group of pirates. It consisted of Merfolk and strange, reverse Merfolk called Fishmen. Upon recognizing her as one of them, they happily took her aboard and allowed her to join the crew.
Apprenticing under the crew doctor, Sedna traveled with the pirates, learning more about their culture, but never revealing her own history to them. She feared that she would be treated as an outsider. What surprised her most was their intense disdain for humans. Sedna knew there were good fish and bad fish no matter the race from her own experiences, but she didn’t speak out against them. She turned a blind eye while she learned how to treat the wounded and injured.
It was all too soon that Sedna would be forced to deal with the reality of the situation. These pirates dealt in illicit goods. Weapons, dangerous substances, and the like. They didn’t care who they sold these items to so long as they weren’t being used on their kind. When they were docked on the same island as the small town she’d come to love, Sedna decided to pay them a visit. To her horror, there was nothing left of the people she’d known there. Houses left abandoned and empty. There were long forgotten corpses lying in the streets.
Sedna was shattered. Asking around and investigating yielded only the knowledge that it happened overnight and that the very air had been toxic for weeks afterwards. It didn’t take Sedna long to put together that it might have been a chemical weapon or toxic gas. There’d been sightings of ships around with no flags before the incident. Why was the only question that reverberated in her mind. Why, and who? Who did this?
The answer would come shockingly easily when Sedna returned to the ship. One of the Fishmen, Farkas, her mentor and teacher in medicine, asked her what was the matter. When she told him, his response made her blood run cold. They were only humans. Ah. Everything clicked into place for Sedna then and there. They’d done this. She’d done this. Everyone who participated or was complicit in these underworld dealings were responsible. And they’d continue to be responsible for this sort of ridiculous wanton death and destruction until they were stopped.
That night, Sedna stopped the pirates that she’d been traveling with for so long and silenced their voices forever. She went on a rampage throughout the underworld. She carved a path through Paradise and into the New World. Sedna hunted the Emperors of the Underworld, and became a force unto herself.
This bloody rampage continued for years within the new world, but Sedna was just one woman, alone, making many, many enemies. Eventually, it would catch up to her. And it did. A trap set for her by a monster by the name of Fortuna. An ambush which led to a violent explosion that irrevocably marred the left side of her face. When she next awoke, it was in darkness, and she swiftly discovered that she was blind in her left eye.
A human only in name, Fortuna was after the secret to her longevity and would stop at nothing to get it. Unlike the Lemurian cult, he approached it much more scientifically. He took endless samples. Pounds of flesh. Buckets of blood. Sedna was totally helpless to resist, kept in a dank tank, fed sedatives that weakened her body and clouded her mind. The passage of time became a thick fog intercut by moments of searing agony.
One day, the fog that clouded her mind cleared enough to see the monster standing before her. Sedna lunged out for him, but she was too frail to even so much as make the glass of her tank vibrate. He smiled at her before several of his goons dragged her tank away. Apprehensive and scared, Sedna was brought before rows of people in white robes. It only took a moment for her to realize what was happening when she saw the symbol on their clothes.
The cult had returned. They were unmistakable despite how long it had been. Sedna could scarcely believe her eyes. As a new horror dawned on her, the leader approached her. A young man. He promised that no harm would come to her ever again. What he actually meant was that Sedna would never be allowed to confront danger or hardship or anything other than the unadulterated adoration of the cult ever again. They continued to poison her food until she was feeble and weak. She was a prisoner. A well tended and beloved one, but a prisoner nonetheless. She couldn’t abide this. It was freedom or death, and so she made a bold escape with everything on the line.
