Fighting Style
Regulus is not a graceful fighter, in fact, he’s the complete opposite. Calico Mason taught him how to use a sword, but in the end, Regulus simply did not attain the graceful and fluid movements of a swordsman. He was big, too big, and in Calico’s own words, “relying only on a sword, merely impedes his true strength.” So, with much training and practice, Regulus became a mixed martial artist, using his whole body and swords as a weapon to utterly destroy and break his opponent. Eating the Zushi Zushi no mi only emphasized his brutal style of fighting.
After eating the Zushi Zushi no mi, Regulus has been known to utilize his gravitational powers to augment his strength and physical abilities. Tossing him into his opponent with seemingly “infinite acceleration,” or adding weight to his punches to augment the impact of an attack. He has even been known to simply crush his opponent with gravitational pressure, throw objects about using gravity, or unleash gravitational waves of pure destruction that flattens/crushes whatever is in its path.

Aspect Set: Devil Fruit Abilities
Downforce Generation (★)
Gravity Generation
A user of this devil fruit can generate gravitational force. They can freely create a gravitational downforce that presses opponents into the ground, downright crushing objects or people within the gravitational field, or even restricting their movement. A user of this devil fruit can choose to increase the gravity within a single point or area, and even unleash waves of gravitational force that flattens whatever is in its path. It should be noted that the user is seemingly immune to the gravitational operations they make.
Upforce Generation (★)
Gravity Reduction
A user of this devil fruit can freely manipulate gravity. Not only can they increase or decrease gravity around them, but they can also make gravity behave “abnormally.” A user of this devil fruit can force gravity to go in “any direction.” This essentially allows the user to create gravitational pulls in any direction they choose– granting them the ability to “attract and repel matter”. This fruit even grants the user the ability to induce levitation by decreasing or “shifting” the pull of gravity upward.
Gravity Infringement (★)

Gravity Acceleration (★)
Gravity-like Soru
By carefully controlling gravity Regulus can essentially move objects and himself with speeds that mimic Soru, causing that object or person to seemingly fade in and out existence due to their speed. Regulus can achieve this speed feat by rendering an object weightless, only rendering them “infinitely heavy” towards a chosen direction.

Gravity Acceleration, Downforce, Upforce
Regulus drastically decreases his own personal gravitational field, causing him to momentarily levitate a foot above the ground. Then, generating a strong gravitational pull towards a chosen person or location, Regulus essentially allows himself to “fall” to the chosen location with seemingly infinite acceleration. Before coming into contact with a said location, Regulus will “stop” the gravitational alterations. Preventing him from colliding into the location. This basically allows Regulus to move at speeds akin to Soru, letting him seemingly fade “in and out” of existence.

Background
The pirate known as Regulus D. Scarlemagne was born on Gecko Island, in a small town called Syrup Village. He lived with his Great Aunt, who ran a small tavern that often catered to sailors and shipwrights. As a child, Regulus did not know anything about his parents. His Great Aunt barely mentioned their name or the circumstances of their death. All Regulus knew, was that his dad died at sea and his mother from a mysterious illness.
The tavern that they ran wasn’t successful. They made enough to keep it running, and to put food on the table, but to make that “just enough” they often had to cater to “questionable” figures. This irritated Regulus’s Great Aunt to no end, and exposed Regulus to the world of Pirates. He often lingered around those seedy figures to listen to their adventures. Eventually, he started to do odd and small jobs for those pirates. These jobs included things such as keeping an eye out for guards, small time pick pocketing, passage messages along, etc. Nothing too major, but, things that made him seem reliable.
This ticked his Great Aunt off, who threatened to throw Regulus out on the streets if he continued his “poor conduct.” Around this time, Regulus came to know a man named Calico Mason, a pirate captain with a 10,000,000 Beli bounty. Calico Mason, known as the “Mad Calico,” was wanted for causing trouble with the Marines. Specifically, Mad Calico killed a corrupt Marine Captain that was causing trouble on his home island. The older pirate took a liken to Regulus and became a mentor-like figure.
He became the closet thing Regulus had to a father.
Mason, as everyone called him, taught Regulus how to “live on the sea,” and “how to fight like a Pirate.” He told Regulus stories about powerful devil fruits that could change the world, and, on Regulus seventeenth birthday, Calico Mason gave Regulus his two swords. Mason convinced Regulus to leave the island, to see the world either as a pirate or a civilian. He told Regulus that “your destiny isn’t out here on the small island, it’s out there on the sea! As a pirate, bandit, or marine—it’s something greater than keeping and maintaining a tavern.”
That same night, while packing, Regulus and his aunt got into a huge fight. The two shouted back and forth, and during this argument, Regulus discovered that his parents were pirates and that his dad was a captain. His Aunt revealed that his mother had gotten an unknown illness while out visiting a “god forsaken island.” This was the final straw that broke the camel’s back, and Regulus left the island. He decided to follow his parent’s footsteps, to fulfill a dream that they could not complete.
In the following years, Regulus became a Captain and formed a crew. He discovered that his father was ruthless tortured and executed by the Marines, and, that his mother dreamed of uncovering the secrets of a mysterious artifacts known as the Poneglyphs. As a new Captain, Regulus spent most of his time following his mentor’s footsteps rather than his parents. He attacked World Government Trading ships, sinking them entirely, or simply taking their goods and giving them back to the people that they were taken from.
Things took a turn for the worse during the “Polestar Island” incident. Regulus, wanting to see the place where the Pirate King died, traveled to Polestar Island. However, he stopped to help the people of Dendum Island who had most of their foods stuff taken by the Marines. It was all a trap however, and when he went to go fetch their stolen food, the Marines were waiting for him at sea. A huge naval battle broke out, and the Marines slaughtered his crew and sunk his ship.
Regulus was captured, tortured, and taken as a slave to work on Tequila Wolf. During his time on Tequila Wolf, something mentally broke, hatred and anger consumed him. And on that same night something odd happened, a storm came, terrible and cruel, and during the storm, Regulus discovered a devil fruit. The devil fruit, blown by the wind, was caught by Regulus who ate the fruit and gained the powers of the Zushi Zushi no mi.
Using the devil fruit’s powers, Regulus escaped his confinement, vowing that he’d gain all the power in the world so that something like that will never again happen to him and the ones he loves.
