Vepar was on cloud nine. During her search for this white tiger that the Revolutionaries wanted to contact, she and Calcifer had split up. They’d arrived in Loguetown a couple days ago. Calcifer in his disguise and Vepar waiting around the docks. Vepar, of course, had gotten more than a little bored. She had the sneaking suspicion that Calcifer was off having fun and had forgotten all about their mission.
But, but! That had all changed one day when a gorgeous hunk of a sailor found her one day and asked her out on a date. Vepar’s heart had soared. Usually, men were so intimidated by her size that they avoided her like the plague. So, when a man who wasn’t, she just had to pounce on him! Not literally. Not after what happened the last time. So, Vepar was happily sitting across from the man in question on an outdoor patio of this adorable cafe.
Vepar laughed at all his jokes, reading his lips to follow along. It was likely that he wouldn’t even realize that she was deaf if she hadn’t told him. At first, he tried accommodating her - like speaking extremely slow and mouthing words, which only served to annoy her a bit. She was keen to ignore that and look past it if only for the fact that this man was smoking hot! There was a lot Vepar was willing to forgive for the sake of a hottie. So epic was her quest for romance!
She did wish the cafe served beverages in sizes more suitable for her though. She had a tiny cup pinched between two fingers and just dumped it into her mouth. Elegantly, of course. Vepar tried at all times to seem the picture of elegance or adorable. Either one worked. Unfortunately, the date was winding down to its natural conclusion. This was exciting in a way for Vepar. Her dates seldom got this far, being plagued by… accidents. A tap on her tentacle drew her attention back to the stud in front of her.
“Hey, babe, how do you feel about meeting up here again tomorrow?”
Vepar gasped, stunned. She nodded vigorously, but tried not to seem too eager. She had to be cool. She’d never been asked on a second date! This was amazing! He smiled - a dreamy thing that made her swoon - and stood up, leading her out of the cafe. She waved happily to him and danced happily down the street, heading back to the docks to wait for Calcifer and tomorrow.
As Vepar disappeared from sight, the man smirked and looked down the street. Another girl walked right up to him and gave him a huge smooch on the cheek. They turned back into the cafe and sat down again, proceeding to have yet another day. It was a busy day.
