Pained reply that Cyndia was giving the shouting king was one that most people gave him when he did a big shout like he had just done… well most people that had their ability to hear. Deaf people tended to feel the rumble of his voice and look in his general direction with confusion plastered on his face. Those that didn’t recoil in pain tried to hit him, which was an understandable reaction to something so dangerously loud. Cyndia herself was even closer to the cone of purple energy that came from his mouth as she was nearly two feet in height taller!
“Don’t worry! It shouldn’t be that loud often.” He replied quietly for the first time, using a couple of moments to rest his throat. What he had just done was a one hundred percent use and that played hell on the vocal cords. It was exactly what had been done to launch the boat into the air earlier.
It was not long that the pair had to wait as Ryuji came around the corner across the way at a dead sprint. He seemed so happy just to be reunited with his captain that he was making a real move to be reunited with him, it was really something and almost brought the captain to tears… Then he realised that Ryuji was moving with more haste as he was getting closer. ‘Uh Oh…’ He thought as a mass of rugged and rough looking men followed him and then more started to pour out of the streets and alleyways to each side as a horde.
“Just one!” He said with a squeak to his voice. The captain turned heel and grabbed Cyndia’s arm, pulling it with all of his strength as he began to dash in the opposite direction. He was leading the pair and the horde away at a dead sprint himself in an attempt to escape. “The most noble tradition! Running away!” Roland squeaked as another lesson to Cyndia, one of what was doubtless going to be many upon many in the adventures to come.
Somewhere else in the city, in a marine base full of professional pirate haters: Men were abuzz with activity as an alarm blared, not a major alarm but one to be at attention. There were reports of strange activity, a boat flying through the air above the buildings and a large influx of rough looking people. The yard was abuzz of soldiers getting their weapons and ready for a concerted effort to keep the peace and stamp out any pirating activity.
One man in particular, wearing a long flowing justice coat was standing on a balcony overlooking the operation. This man was one Captain Crem Cookesie, a rather tall and well-built man in his middle years. His close cut brunette hair was greying at the temples. His emerald eyes held the look of eyes that had seen a lot in his years and were still glinting with that tint of eagerness to see more. “We have to make sure peace is maintained, I want patrols stepped up and any miscreants rounded up!” He shouted down to the hustle and bustle that was going on. As a reply he got a unified “Yes Sir!”
Then in the distance he saw a column of purple light and heard the faint rumble of “RYUJI! I’M OVER HERE!” Then his hard look turned into a hungry smile. A devil fruit user was causing trouble in his town, this was the excitement he was missing since his transfer from the Grand Line. “Change of plans! Everyone mobilize now! There’s trouble in our town!”
