Dropping the rusty chains that were once wrapped around his hands into the white sea below, Tenzin looked behind himself making sure the patrol ships weren't following his stolen waver. The industrial works of the island he was escaping fumed heavy black smog into the air. Perhaps unsurprisingly a pair of black-metal ships spewing soot into the air were tight behind him.
A pair of harpoons were sent through the air flying his way. He swerved to the right on the stolen motored vehicle slightly, his teeth gritting as he went a bit heavy on the side. This had been his only chance to escape the West Peak Trading Company. He couldn't mess up now, sweat beads formed around his forehead as he rushed through the foaming white waves of his home sea. The morning sky matted in its warm hues of red, orange, and purple.
On the leading black ship...
"Captain Zhao! The target is gaining speed, we may lose him."
A soldier in golden armor burst through the cabin's quarters where a tall bearded man with an eyepatch an even more regal outfit of gold scales sat. Captan Zhao, a wrathful man in his late thirties, early forties. He stood up and slammed his table angrily causing the soldier to flinch.
"Then YOU know what to do! BLAST EM! We'll call it an accident! No man will make a fool out of me!"
The soldier nodded and rushed back outside leaving the armored Captain behind. He looked down at some knickknacks on the table and pushed them off angrily.
"That bastard is going to pay..."
He lifted his hand to his eyepatch, a scar firmly placed over it.
Back to Tenzin...
Tenzin heard the blast coming from behind him, in an instinctual reaction he saw the dragon-shaped cannon blasting at him with a rocket that resembled a firework headed straight toward him. No way, they actually did it? Wasn't he merchandise? Why the rash decision!? His eyes opened wide as the unavoidable missile made contact with his waver.
The monk closed his eyes as he was sent flying, feeling burns form on his skin and wings. Through the air, he went flying flipping about until he plunged headfirst into the white sea below. Paralyzed from the pain and shock he sunk into the deepest depths... his eyes rolled into the back of his head. That's when the unexpected happened, a break in his expectations of the world. He fell through the waves and was now headed down into a seemingly endless abyss!
In the blink of an eye, his world changed from clear skies to dark murky clouds with lightning flashing. Straight down onto a rocky mass below. Like the raindrops that surrounded him, he was headed down at full force. Forcing himself about he attempted to maneuver, his wings smoking still from the explosion moments earlier... the man looked like a plane in a collision course with the earth as he spun around.
