-- CHAPTER 0// Small World!
Kozen dinghy swished left and right in the turbulent waves. The waters in the West Blue seemed quite choppy today! Having just recently left Strawberry Hill this was the first island he'd rolled up to! It... didn't seem like anything special so far.
"Whoa... I guess?"
He mumbled to himself slightly unimpressed, being met with a village of wood and stone. Behind which stood a picturesque jungle! The warm west blue sun donned at the red-haired man as he leaped off his ship and landed firmly on the white sand, his tengu-geta slightly sinking into the shifting sands. Kozen's indigo eyes perused the horizon, he really didn't know what he was expecting when he left his hometown. But this really wasn't it.
"Fresh dried fish!! Get yer fresh dried fish!"
A man in a tangerine bandana called out ringing a bell. Next to him were fish sticking from what looked like spears... as smoke poured on them from below. The dark-skinned man seemed very eager to go about his job. At first, Kozen wasn't very interested, but that's when a rather conspicuous growl came over him. At first, he thought it was some sort of tiger that had jumped out of the dense jungle that made up much of this island. But no, it happened to come from his abdomen. His stomach was calling him out.
"Right right! Just hold on!"
Kozen grumbled, stupid stomach... don't eat for a few days and it already starts grumbling. Crossing his arms he walked up to the man ringing the bell, he'd already attracted a bit of a crowd that was buying some of his stock.
"Oi! I'll take two!"
The young man yelled out immediately catching the fisherman's attention. He was greeted by a rather toothy grin of pearly whites.
"Oh of course young man! Here ya go! That'll be 500 beli please!"
Kozen gave him a nod as he grabbed onto his dried fish which was neatly wrapped up in banana leaves. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the money... counting over the bills he noticed he barely had just enough. That was bad news, an upstart pirate like him and he was already broke? Granted, he really didn't have much in the way of money. This was just what he'd managed to scrounge up before leaving Strawberry Hill.
"Have a nice day!"
The fisherman waved, Kozen gave him a silent nod before heading into town as he munched on the dried fish eating it with his hands. His eyes perused the cobbled streets of the place. That aspect was already starting to remind him of him... that was until he noticed they were covered in confetti... which was interesting. As he walked through the town he saw more of the townsfolk who were dressed in colorful tropical garbs and he noticed more shopkeepers too selling street food. One man, this one with red curly hair was selling squids on a stick... while another a short, blue-haired woman with round glasses was selling Takoyaki.
"Welcome to Beacon Town! Where the fun never ends."
Kozen read outland, finding himself at the town square which held a fountain. The plaque had those very words etched on them. He looked up and saw some people putting up a show on the streets, some doing backflips! While another stood on tall wooden stilts! Covering them with long fancy flowery pants, which in term made him seem freakishly tall. A crowd of people was already clapping along and cheering the performers.
"Maybe I misjudged this place..."
