Personality
Brutal
- Cole has a penchant for being ruthless and violent, hardly able to hide her love for being as brutal as she possibly can be. She won't wantonly attack a child or someone in a bar, sure, but she'll happily pin someone who gets in her way to the wall with a hail of harpoons. She won't hesitate to give someone deep wounds or get them in a choke hold until they pass out, be they marine, pirate, bounty hunter, anyone of note.
Jittery
- No matter what, Cole can't stay still for too long, tends to fidget, and when she's sat for a long time her legs tend to dither. She is even like that when she's asleep, tossing and turning every so often through the night. Only having her attention glued to something else tends to stop her, such as eating or in a fight.
Chatterbox
- Again, no matter what (even sometimes in her sleep), Cole loves to chatter on and on, talking to anyone and everyone about her day, their day, and even when she's running someone through or pinning them, she'll let her venomous words flood over them. She does know to actually shut up, though, it just takes her a lil' while to figure out.
- Cole enjoys new thrills wherever she can get them, and it isn't exactly just adventure that gets her giddy. It's finding a new place, or evading capture, or running after an ancient treasure. She looks at fights with great beasties as better than birthday parties. She flocks to adventurous folk more frequently than anyone else, and if they also enthuse with her thrill seeking, it'll make her very excitable.
Anti-authoritarian
- Cole loathes any kind of authority figure, and will not work with someone who'll treat her as a subordinate. Marines are too stuffy and respond to petty issues with too much force, whereas too many pirates cause problems for everyone and end up being just as bureaucratic as their rivals. She won't keep her mouth shut on it, either. That's just the person she is.
Appearance
Cole is five feet and seven inches of slender, toned goodness. She has pale peach skin that tends to tan easy, and freckles coating her body from head to knees. Her arms and legs, though they seem kinda skinnier than you'd expect from a person who can throw a man twice her size, are long and toned, with a slender waist to go with. She is a little top-heavy due to being bustier than you might expect, which is usually hidden by her love of baggy clothes to cover up. Not her chest, mind you; being the daughter of a Sky Islander, it's mostly to hide her wings or keep them from being damaged, handled or used to pull her off her target. The rest of her body is toned like an athlete, with strong shoulders and soft abs to boot.
She has big, expressive eyes coloured pale blue, a rather average nose, and a sharply pointed chin which contrasts with the roundness the rest of her head / face has. Her face is covered in more freckles, and the bridge of her nose is lightly tanned. She tends to pluck her eyebrows, and have always been a dark colour. Her hair is messy and partially covers her face, with the rest of her incredible long, thick hair weaved into huge plaits that end just below her backside. They are a pain to maintain, and after dyeing her brunette hair purple years ago, more expensive than usual to maintain. She wears red lipstick and heavy black eyeshadow at all times, making her morning routine sometimes highly time-consuming.
Traits (3/3)
- Oxygen Efficiency (Half-blood)
Being a Sky Islander on her mother's side, she has the same tolerance for low-oxygen environments, is not as hindered as other races in these environments, and can hold her breath for longer than average. Though not as potent as a full-blood, it is still a real advantage. - Inhuman Strength
Due to reeling in big fish as well as grappling with them in order to subdue them, Cole has incredible strength for a person of her height and build, though she uses it mostly with feats related to fishing, such as throwing harpoons. - Super Flexible
Cole has done a lot of acrobatics and gymnastics over the years, and as a result her body is more flexible than that of the average person, able to perform feats such as doing full splits and unusual stretches without breaking a sweat. It also helps with her submission holds.

Cole's Weapon Rack
Name: Crankbait
Fighting Style: Fisherman's Fiend
Rank: 0
Description: A simple fishing harpoon crudely modified to attach a rope to the end of it, suited more for throwing or thrusting into her target. It is tapered towards the end, and more likely to bend or break if manipulated when the metal is thinnest. The head is bladed, and built in such a way that it's difficult to dislodge without hurting yourself.
Background
Cole Martel's parents met after her late mother fell from the heavens, being born in the summer aboard her father's fishing vessel. She at least think it's her late mother, anyhow. Either way, she died or vanished, and her father hardly spoke a word about her. Growing up around tough, proud sailors and fishermen, Cole began with sorting fish, casting nets, helping to lower the anchors and later in her youth learning how to harpoon the larger commercial fish available. She travelled wherever the money and winds took them, all amongst the blues and back into the grand line, eventually coming to finally settle with her ageing dad somewhere in the west blue. It was humbler a life than she was used to, but it wasn't too difficult to adjust to it. Despite her wings, neither her fellow fishers nor most usual folk really cared too much about them. After all, strange people with 'weird fruits' were not unheard of, and though she could swim just fine, no one really cared enough to figure her out.
Cole, finding herself surrounded by folk who had lived only under marine law for most of their lives, found herself readily rejected for her brash nature, often getting into fights she perceived as being just friendly brawls like her and her dad's crewmates used to engage in, or getting scolded for fishing without a permit or using her harpoon. It didn't dissuade her, though. In fact, she tried to start pushing her luck more and more frequently. Only after she was arrested for picking a fight with a naval officer (and kicking his butt) did her father intervene, to stop her being imprisoned. She argued with her dad about it, lots. But, eventually, she became tired of even her father. She wished him farewell as she got into a boat and sailed away, returning to her life as an angler. She never left the blue she found herself in, of course, but started to get stronger each day, better at hauling in singular catches, and rougher around the edges.
She lived in relative peace into her early twenties, but the world stage soon started to destabilize. The Summit War, recorded as a resounding victory for the Marines, sickened her. She, like many other people around the world, were inspired to action by Whitebeard's final words, happy to know that there was a treasure out there that suited her ambitions. Accepting that she was nowhere near as strong as she could be, she carried on doing her best with bigger and better hauls, until she believed herself strong enough to make it to the Grand Line.
Currently, she is raring to go and get her hands on whatever riches and fame that're waiting to be seized, still in her lil' boat fishing it up in her boredom. Though she claims to be a pirate, she hasn't made up her mind entirely, but she just knows that a life under marines is no good. Still, she'll happily bide her time and keep on keeping on, until a time when she can move on, and start her new life presents itself.
