Miu - 4 / Pluto - 14A flurry of paw swipes slashed through the air, each aiming and missing the small shadowy target which fluttered unpredictably. The innocent tabby sprung off her hind legs, pouncing at the airborne creature only to slip past the elusive bat.
However, this was no ordinary cat.
She flipped midair, aiming her hind paws downward before an impulse of flames blasted out, redirecting her trajectory at a sharp angle. Burst Step!
Yet again, the bat avoided the hunter and flew around the kitten with ease.
Despite her inability to catch the flying shadow, Miu appeared excited as shown by the upright gesture of her tail. She was clearly just having fun, but playtime with this cat spelled out chaos for everyone else.
A game of cat and mouse – her favorite pastime activity. When someone eludes her, it teases her hunting instincts to want to chase after it. Of all the prey she had come across in her life, there was no one quite like Pluto; he was uncatchable. What a fun and challenging game this shall be.
The bat suddenly shapeshifted into a human boy – one with black hair and violet eyes just like his little sister. “You’re energetic as ever, Miu,” he said emotionlessly, unfazed by the feline’s antics.
“Master!” The tabby held an open-mouth smile as she stood on her hindlegs like a squirrel. With alacrity, she bolted towards the boy at full speed ahead, “Rebecca Style: Tackle hugs!”
“Eh?” Rebecca blinked with a perplexed look.
In that brief instant, Pluto saw a little kitten dashing straight at him, a scene which his brain failed to register as a threat. It was difficult to associate something so small and cute with danger. Hugging, nuzzling, licking, purring, this feline acted friendly and gentle with Ara and Rebecca, but such gestures were blown out of proportions when it came to him.
“!” Instinctively, he stretched out both hands, palms out as a heavy force crashed into him. The cat had suddenly grown, not as large as before but easily on par with the human boy in terms of height. One ton of mass bulldozed him away as his heels scraped against the soil, leaving behind two trails.
Like a stampeding bull, the massive cat rammed her forehead against him as if she had horns to make use of. Her head was angled downwards, but her eyes were locked forward as the human boy was pressing his hands against her head.
Their weight difference was obvious. Up against someone with over ten times the mass, Pluto was being pushed back as his feet continuously scraping across the earth. His rock-solid stance was enough to prevent himself from being toppled over, but the ground lacked the support needed for him to properly push back against a four-legged animal.
The cat was barely even slowed down as she was practically sprinting forth as if the human boy weren’t even there in front of her.
Somewhere in Grove 23, there was a facility known as The Human Shop – a large high-ceiling building built out of stone walls. As the public in town were alarmed at a sudden large feline dashing out from the outskirts, they gazed in horror as the oversized kitten crashed straight into the building. Outlaws, pirates, and bounty hunters alike were all flabbergasted at the bizarre scene. Such a massive cat did not exist in on this island as far as they were aware of.
Inside of the Human Shop, there were rectangular glass panels encircling the entire large room on two separate levels. Each transparent panel served as a barrier to a small, confined cell where live humans the held in captive on display. Some of the cells were filled up with water for mermaids. Some were shackled up more than others based on their level of strength. A staircase at one end led up to the second level with another ring of captives behind glass panels.
The owner of this building was a short, rotund, middle-aged, bearded man wearing a beanie and a Hawaiian t-shirt. He sat behind a counter at one side as if ready to greet any client that would step inside. But, when the front entrance abruptly exploded inwards as a giant cat came charging in, his eyes popped out of their sockets. “EHHH!? WHAT THE?”
“Humph!” Pluto sharpened his eyes as he finally managed to hold off the cat at the center of the room. The feline kept pressing forth, but the two of them were at a stalemate. They were surrounded by alerted captives behind glass panels, watching at the unexpected intrusion.
Tch… where the heck am I?
Violet eyes shifted side to side, finding himself pushed all the way towards the town of Grove 23. He couldn’t tell if this was some sort of prison or a human pet store.
The square tiles of the floor gradually began cracking beneath his boots as all the force of the immensely strong cat were being redirected into the ground.
Mythical Zoans sure are a pain to deal with.
