▪︎Gen! Is grumpy! That's one of his main traits... kind of hard not to be grumpy when your skin is always super irritated by the darn sun. With this come other aspects of his personality such as his biting sarcasm and overall cynical view on life.
▪︎Despite his harsh personality he cares for others deep down even if he may pretend like he doesn't. In fact, one of the reasons he became a bounty hunter was because to save the common people from reckless criminals. Even so, he would much rather claim he does it for the money than admit he does it for good.
▪︎Gen has a deep complex relationship with his mother! Even though he is usually seen arguing with her on his Den Den Mushi (usually in the worst times to do it) he actually loves her very much. This mirrors the relationships he develops with others! Being critical and usually engaging in argument but in the end, is the first to take a bullet for them.
▪︎The sunburnt man has zero-tolerance for spoiled brats. He cannot stand anyone who acts all high and mighty. He rather teach them a special lesson then swallow his tongue even in the most dangerous of scenarios. In Gen's eyes, no person should ever feel that self-entitled.

▪︎Aside from that his eyes are black in color as well as thin and cat-like. Being accompanied by thin eyebrows that are angled in such a way that makes him look constantly upset. Gen also has long black hair stylized in a classic Japanese style which is very common in his home country Wano along with a small beard and mustache to accompany as seen in the image above.
▪︎Clothing wise, Gen wears an assortment of Kimono and Robes typical of his nation usually preferring more neutral colors like black, white, and cream. Gen also wears a pair of 'geta' the wooden sandals typical of his country. The Tengu is known to wear a wide brim rice-hat that looks almost comical when worn he tends to keep it off when indoors and on when outdoors to make sure he is protected from the biting sun.

His parents where humble rice farmers who could sustain themselves with what little they made off the harvest each year. However, as their family grew so did the amount of money they had to make.
As such Gen would work long hours on the farm and even hold a second job working for a local herbalist who taught him various medical concoctions. This wasn't an effort by Gen alone many of his older siblings also worked very hard to sustain the family! But it was no use as their father became increasingly older and Wano began to suffer some economic problems their humble rice farm simply couldn't sustain such a large family.
One day while at the local tavern Gen heard stories of men who would venture out into the outside world as "bounty hunters" they would capture criminals and make great sums of cash out of it. The Tengu thought hard about this until he finally decided it was his fate to become a bounty hunter! To him, it was an honorable job! To cleanse the world of crime and make enough money to help sustain his poor family. Off to the blues!
