<Teki Teki no Mi>
English Name: Target Target Fruit
Classification: Paramecia
Owned By: Rince Levi
Appearance: The fruit resembles a Kiwi but is a little bigger, about the size of an orange. It has black skin that pokes out under the swirls of brown hair that covers this fruit. When cut in half, the inside shows a round black core surrounded by white fruit flesh in which lots of tiny red seeds circle the middle in three distinct red rings, the last of which is just below the skin.
The taste too reminds a bit of a kiwi fruit. First the smell the fruit gives of is the sour but sweet scent most people acossiate with the fruit, but when you bite into it, you find out that it's not the nice sourness of fruit but the sourness of milk that has gone off. The taste is strong enough to make one gag and only surprise is responsible for gulping it down.
Ability:
The Teki Teki no Mi turns the user into a Target Human. And don't be mistaken, it's not a fruit that turns the user into someone targeting others, but into THE target. The bull's eye of the shooting target, the mark that the weapon is aimed at, the butt of all jokes (okay, maybe not that one, but you get the idea). Even if something was not aimed at him, due to the fruit's power, the user changes the trajectory of the moving object and becomes its target instead.
By activating the DFs power, the user gets to attract moving things. Those things can include bullets and flying knives, but also carts, boats and other vehicles (provided they had been moving and weren't stationary when the attracting power was activated. It is possible for the user to change the direction of a punch, a kick or a slashing attack, however that is more difficult as the attacker can put his or her force against the vector-changing pull of the DF.
None of this alterations would have an effect on the SPEED of the moving object – it would stay the same as it was, before the object became attracted – but only work on the direction that the object was headed to, shifting it to move in the direction of the user as it's new target.
In general, there is a big influence on how the fruit can be used, depending on how capable and skilled the user is with it.
The better the user is at using his fruit, the...
... bigger the object can be, that gets attracted. Smaller objects are easier to attract than heavier and big ones.
... the farther away an object can be while still being in the range of influnece of the DF.
... the easier it is for the user to pick a specific object and select it as the thing to attract, rather than just randomly attracting every moving object in the vicinity.
... better the user becomes at directing the object at a specific part of his body, rather than dead center into his chest.
At first the power is very tricky and can activate itself at random and withuot the user's intent, drawing all random things to him.
One of the things that can happen would be the involuntary attraction of air moisture, which can lead to the user having a little raincloud all for himself over his head, even though the sky is blue. (This would NOT work in the desert, as there isn't enough humidity to attract in the first place, so this work as a joke mostly, and can not be a plot device to get water in a desert).
Once the user gets beter at using his fruit, the less it's likely to act out.
The user would become able to attract small and light things in the immediate surroundings, however he would not be able to pick and select WHICH object he wishes to attract and simply attract all moving objects that are not too heavy.
They would also all head to the center of his body (chest) and once activated, there is no way to deactivate the power of attraction for the objects that are already flying his way. Unless they hit the target or collide with something that stands in the direct way to the target, it will continue to fly until it hits.
Only when the proficiency level is high enough, can the user actually use his power for only a moment to attract an object and change it's vector a little, but without having the object follow farther after him, when he dodges to the side. The user also becomes able to direct the object to a designed area of his body (like a hand or a foot) instead of his chest.
There is a potential that this fruit can not just change the vector of an object once, but have it change it multiple times in order to hit the target (aka the user). So rather than going in a straight line directly at the user, it could make the object dodge obstacles and fly around the corner to chase the target, as long as the target has the fruit's power activated. But that would only be possible at the highest level of proficiency.
Weaknesses:
Standard DF weaknesses: Water, Seastone
Can not select anything or anyone but himself as the „target“. Yes, he is theoretically able to use shilds and obstructions in order to not get hit, but it would be hard to always have something to hide behind, especially when there are things flying at you from multiple directions, and even with a shild, the impact would be felt.
This fruit makes his body into a target! Sooner or later that's going to take a toll on him, so although this fruit is a powerfull power, it definitelly is a powerful weakness on the same time.
