Quartz Quartz Fruit
Classification: Paramecia
Owned By: Columbus
Owned By: Columbus
Appearance
Chara Chara no Mi takes on the appearance of a large fruit, very much akin to that of an oversized pineapple. White all over and rough to the touch, with small individual spirals covering its surface, replacing the so called eyes of a regular pineapple. Tall, sharp leaves also protrude off of its top, though unlike regular leaves, they are stiff and translucent, almost glass-like in both appearance and texture. As its thick, leathery skin is rather hard and difficult to bite through, peeling it would be necessary, revealing its glistening pink flesh. The flavor, of course, is nothing more than awful; only comparable to that of a dirt covered rancid fish, left aside to rot and mold inside a dusty old shoe.
Ability
With the consumption of Chara Chara no Mi, an individual would then be capable of generating and manipulating quartz and its given aspects and properties. Columbus, upon consuming Chara Chara no Mi, had been into a quartz man with such ability. He is able to generate quartz by allowing them to protrude off of his body. He is also able to coat other surfaces he has physical contact with quartz formations such as the ground.
Quartz, by nature, is quite tough making it rather difficult to destroy, albeit not impossible.
Weaknesses
Aside from water and seastone that both weaken and cripple devil fruit users as their common bane, quartz has a few drawbacks. Being clear, light based attacks may pass through his quartz defenses with ease. Loud sounds, especially of certain frequencies, could also potentially shatter his quartz formations, similarly so with strong enough shockwaves.
Regardless of having its toughness being its selling points, it is still prone to breakage; capable of being shattered and pulverized with enough force and sliced in twain with sharp enough blades. Quartz shards and powder he didn't generate are unable to be controlled as well.
