Miu - 16
While Kite was descending, Miu took a brief glimpse over her own body. The swelling was gone; there was not a sign of redness on her left thigh. She could breathe normally, and she felt not pain whatsoever. All of that was good news, but it was also strange news.
I thought I got poisoned. How come I don’t I feel the pain anymore?
This had remained a mystery to her. Her opponents had clearly expected to take her down with venom or poison, yet their tactics had unexpectedly failed. It wasn’t until she tapped into her special powers that any symptoms from the venom was erased. She theorized that her power somehow had to ability to neutralize the harmful effects of the scorpion’s venom.
As if the ambush had never occured, the two of them began heading towards a restaurant known as Spice Bean. During the walk, Kite seemed frustrated. The man never seemed to be the type to be wowed by anything - quite the contrast with all the bystanders who were mostly expressed either fear or shock.
“Well yeah, didn’t we agree that we’d get stronger over the course of a month?” Miu asked a rhetorical question as if it was obvious. Her past self never indicated the abilities she had shown today. Clearly, she had gained newfound powers and skills. It would be a disappointment if she had remained the same as before.
The youth then laughed out loud, “I’ve never had any bounty hunters chasing after me before. This is the first time.” She brushed it all off as if it was trivial, “Oh well, it doesn’t matter, right? You already know that I had a bounty before, and you didn’t seem to have minded.” Back on the Snail Island, a self-invented name, she had told Kite about her bounty. Back then, she couldn’t trust him because he was a bounty hunter whereas she was someone with a bounty. None of this should be news to him. “You’re a bounty hunter yourself. Is it so strange that bounty hunters would hunt someone with a bounty?” she reasoned with a gentle tone.
“Hmm,” she pondered thoughtfully as to what would be the best way to explain all this to Kite, but she didn’t know much about Devil Fruit powers. There was also the matter of whether this man would believe her. “Master Pluto knows more about this than me. If you really want to know more about what you just saw, you should ask him. He seems to know a lot.”
Her eyes shifted towards the pair of knives sheathed in their place. Pointing at his weapons, she asked, “By the way Kite, was it just my imagination or did your knives turned into one sword? You did mention about learning some swordsmanship from your mother, right?”
