"Good riddance," Kite coughed out a bit as he reached the lip of the cave, the pains of his body failed to compare to the giant wad of rage he was swallowing back doing his best to cool.
For some odd reason no matter how hard he tried to dismiss the feelings or felt the anguished remorse of loss that rage just overpowered it. Unlike prior times were emotions just tended to mellow out and meld into one solid driving force, there was also the peculiar taste in the air that constantly had the Hunter coughing or itching at his nose. The cold misty air outside was a relief and after a gulp full or two Kite felt perfectly content to just slide against the wall and close his eyes as he let his nerves steadily fire off until they calmed. A twitch or two caused his foot to jolt but other then that he was able to slide against the wall snagging on little, getting his own little massage before his butt was rested on the cool island floor. His gloves hands rested on his knees and he took to crossing his legs, taking one last look around before closing his eyes.
He made a rhythm of his breathing. Shoulders going slack and rising up with his chest after every fluid movement, blood pumping far less quickly and the dreaded red draining out of the brief light shining through his eyelids to illuminate dark sockets.
"Why is it... going away?" Kite proposed the question to himself, as if he could also give an answer.
Never before had rage just exhausted out of his system and sitting here with his eyes closed, the world quieted around him he nearly believed he was dreaming. The distant hammering of limbs against wood, a crisp snapping of aged wood, made him sigh heavily and crack open his eyelids being reminded of reality so punctually. Having his thoughts disturbed he wasn't able to notice that even now the rage and heartache he felt towards Miu over such minor things was just fading away, like a steady stream out of his body. He even felt more limber and less tense when rising from his spot against the wall.
Glancing around for a few seconds, putting a hand to either ear and making sure no battle cries, screeches or roars were sounding off he peered back into the cave. The rustle of broken boards was somewhat concerning, but it didn't compare to the cacophony that soon met him. Either by fate or by coincidence a lot of noise channeled out of the blackness, the dim green light singing out the hissing of some kind of small animal and the shouts of a fleeing dot. Though formless and hardly discernible against the black shadows, tiny bits of green and fog limbs started to come into focus. Minutes didn't even pass before Miu fled the cave. Kite, for his part, could only stand there dumbfounded, brows raised and his mouth open to ask a question.
Quick movement in the corner of his left eye attracted his attention, though his body turned and his head did to track Miu he pivoted to the cave double time. Just in time to brace himself as a tiny little fur ball came rearing out of the cave swiping and growling, eyes dilated and fur like a grey blur as it ran in a zagged line. It quickly adjusted its trajectory and tried to take its attacks to the hunter. In the precious amount of time it took to lunge from cave mouth to the side a dodge was issued, soon with his body ducking low Kite attempted to crab the cat. His heart frantically pounding in his chest as Adrenalin once again kicked in. Though his hands ached and a few muscles felt like they were going to be even more sore he was far quicker than the feline.
Unlike Miu he had the advantage of being an unintended target. Sure the critter tried to jump across his arms and aim for his face but ultimately two hands grasped the end legs of the cat preventing it from rolling forward for a frontal assault. Rising up from his momentarily crouched position, letting his legs straighten and his head carefully scan the horizon he traced the general disturbance Miu had left behind in her fleeing. The cat kind of just swiped and let out a toothy-hiss as it tried grasping at empty air, Kite had his hands at head height and fully extended his arms away from his body. Walking forward into the mist, letting the cat tire itself out until not even its tail possessed enough energy to lash about in fickle fury.
Wherever the brunette had ran off to surely she'd notice the lack of a cat, two footsteps in the darkness of the night revealing a familiar face through the smoke of the fog. A dangling cat held in two hands, idly swiping at the air and groaning more from disorientation then the need to needlessly attack.
Rather than fixate on the cat Kite split his attentions to making sure the thing didn't latch claws into his outfit and finding the girl who ran. He was still a bit ticked but not as much, his curiosity to find out why she had run overpowered the previous urge to be far away from here. But even that low rumbling anger was dissolving.
"Did you have a falling out with this cat too? Why all the running?" His voice was low, not at normal talking level but not at quite a whisper either.
Scanning over the white rocks and through the rolling of the mist he did his best to try and find the runner. His body language was relaxed aside from the extended arms, even his breathing was barely noticeable leading most to believe catching the cat was of little difficulty.
Kite had caught far more wily criminals anyway-- they tended to flail a lot.
