Oru Oru no Mi
おるおるの実
English Name:– Fold-Fold Fruit
Classification:– Paramecia
Owned By:– Brandon
Appearance:– This Devil Fruit was a medium-sized morsel resembling a cookie due to how flat it was, with a mellow yellow skin covered in the archetypal spirals of the Akuma no Mi. A red stalk emerged from the centre of its upper face, forming a spiral question mark design. Much to its consumers unusual satisfaction, it had a powerful taste like fish and squid.
Ability Outline:–
The Oru Oru no Mi turned Brandon into a Paper Folding Penguin (“Origami Pengin”), granting him the following special abilities…
- Flattening
Brandon’s abilities require some degree of conscious control. He can actively choose to flatten parts of his body, or all of it if he wishes, which causes an increase in surface area. No matter what, his overall volume must remain the same. Brandon’s body doesn’t return to normal naturally, so he must consciously fatten himself again.- Living Origami
While flattened, Brandon is able to control his body as normal, but can achieve unusual acts of contortion. Much like actual paper, he is able to fold his form in ways otherwise impossible for vertebrates, seemingly ignoring the fact that he has a skeleton thanks to his supernatural power. Through precision control of his body, he can fold himself into various shapes and forms, providing a diverse array of utility-related powers when he needs them.
Weaknesses:–
- Kairōseki (“Sea-Prism Stone”) saps the physical strength of the Ability User and prevents them from consciously controlling or activating their power.
- Submersion in water immobilises the Ability User and causes them to sink, disabling conscious power control. In this case, it also strips them of their rigidity when transformed, making them act like sodden paper.
- When flattened and expanded, the increase in surface area can make the Ability User an easier target, but it also makes them more prone to being forcibly moved around by strong air currents and other forces that displace the air.
