Shandra’s display was exquisite. It was a burning demonstration of grit, determination, and desperation in kind. As the youth fought with everything she had, Angela did the same. She raised her arm, steadying herself against the railing, and waited. She had one shot. The impact alone from the blast would likely knock her out. Even if it didn’t, she could already feel the heat inside rising. Anything after that could get dangerous, as she’d be cooking her innards.
“Ferme Twist!”
There it was! With an impressive attack Shandra torqued the marine’s body over, forcing him onto the ground in an awkward position. Angela braced herself as best as she could. Her forearm from the elbow up trembled from the rounded back end to the flared end as she took aim. “Hou hou no....Kaiser Shot!” Her shout was punctuated by the eruption of black powder from her devil fruit weapon. A gout of choking cinders and smoke followed by a black iron cannonball that soared towards Crassnov. She did not get to celebrate, as the impact of the shot knocked her back into the railing, smashing her broken wing against the wood. Angela screamed but clutched herself steady, desperate to see the marine blown off the ship once and for all.
“IDIOT WENCH....” Crassnov growled from his crouched position amidst the smoke and settling cinder. What had happened? Did she miss? “You think that garbage will end me?! I am Cardonne Crassnov!” No she couldn’t have! She thought back while she was hitting the railing. She tried to remember. It was so hard. Her head was rattling, her vision just a little blurred and her whole body numb. Plus, it felt like she was running a mild fever because of the heat generated by her weapon. She fired. She had been dead on. She knew it. She remembered firing. And then....no....that was impossible! He had attempted to jump up over the cannonball, which he had almost succeeded in doing. Except..... “I’m gonna make you pay....I’M GONNA MAKE YOU PAY!!!” .....as he had jumped, the cannonball clipped his left shoulder, spinning him fully around.
The smoke settled, and Crassnov stood, face twisted in rage and consumed with hate. He looked a thing of madness with his left arm hanging completely limp, broken and bloody. Angela took a deep breath. Her vision was returning, and Crassnov was approaching, albeit slowly. He was definitely hurt, as much as she was perhaps, maybe more. Then, Angela heard something. A tone? It pierced the ringing. Shandra’s tone dial. The song it was playing was hitting its crescendo. The noise and rush and blast of the battle had made her forget it was even playing....but now it gave her something to hold onto.
“Come then. Let’s finish this Cardonne. My name is Angela Kaiser, and I am going to bring the Marines to their knees....STARTING WITH YOU!” Angela put her back to the rails, and raised both her arms. “HOU.....” Crassnov attempted to start running. Angela’s arms transformed into cannons. “HOU....” Crassnov pushed through his pain and picked up speed, scooping up a cannonball from the ground to use as a bludgeon. Angela’s cannons flashed for a moment, and became bigger, longer. “NOOOO.....” Crassnov lunged into the air from several meters away, seeking to smash her over the head with his improvised weapon. “TWIN BUSTER SHOT!” There wasn’t time. He was too close! She was to hurt, her powers taking too long to trigger.
“HEY ASSHOLE!!!” Those words were all she heard, but she recognized the voice. Focused on her enemy, she saw almost in slow motion a small grey rod spin through the air and crack the marine across the jaw with suprising impact. The force of his own weapon stalled Crassnov almost comically in the air, giving Angela just enough time. She didn’t remember anything, or really see it. Her weapons fired, and her world went to black. She didn’t see Crassnov get hit squarely in the chest. She didn’t see him being carried over the other side of the ship. She didn’t feel herself smash through the railings. Nor did she see the young Kroops arm flying over the side of the ship to catch her.
