Personality
--Berk has led a hard life, though he is grateful to still be alive, and to be free. On the surface he can appear jovial while things are calm, especially when he's got about a bottle and half of rum, his favorite drink, in him. Berk has learned to trust and develop his strength, knowing just how easy it is for the weak to be preyed upon in the treacherous seas. He's deeply distrusting of the world government, seeing them as having turned a blind eye towards the trafficking of his fellow Fishmen into slavery. He openly mocks them, and their dogs the Marines, when he can. Berk also values the lives of those he calls friends, but will not hesitate to put those around him at risk, especially during a fight. Berk has a soft spot for slaves, freeing them when he can. Having spent most of his life in bondage, Berk now pursues his dream woe be to those who stand in his way.
Appearance
--Berk is a towering figure to behold, and most non-fishmen can find him grim and off putting to look upon. His body is covered in scars sustained from a life-time of forced hard labor and fighting. He is massively muscular, clean-shaven with a bald head. Apart from the scars, which are a dark grey, his body is dark brown banded with black. His chest and lower jaw are a dull white in contrast with the rest of his body. When he smiles his mouth bristles with rows of knife-like teeth. Berk wears shoddy clothing and often wears the same pair of shorts for weeks on end... All part of piracy I suppose.
Possessions: Iron Anchor, Leather Harness for Anchor, Water Gourd, Torn-up shorts.
Traits
-Fishman trait #1- Inhuman Strength: Thanks to natural bulk and intense training regimes, Berk has physical might that far surpasses the human norm. He's capable of lifting boulders and other great weights that no normal man could hope to.
-Fishman trait #2- Amphibious: Berk has the ability to breathe underwater as well as in open air and has adapted to be able to swim better than other races, reducing drag and allowing him to perform normal movements even in the crushing depths.
-Additional trait #1- Bloodhound: Like most sharks, Berk can smell blood over great distances. On land he can detect the presence and general direction of someone who's bleeding from up to a mile away, if he's familiar with the person's scent he can recognize their scent by the smell of their blood. This range increases to 10 miles in water, though factors that would normally impede tracking by scent also impede this ability (i.e. wind/current direction, the presence of noxious materials that might mask the scent etc.) This technique is only usable against living opponents, beings like robots don't have blood, so they are indistinguishable.
-Additional trait #2- Rough Skin: Shark skin is as rough as it is tough, being a Tigershark-man Berk's skin is rough enough to cause abrasions to those who come in contact with it. This is great for things like grappling and climbing, as this rough skin increases Berk's grip to deadly effect. It isn't as useful when say, petting a small animal or trying to patch up a friends wounds...
Fighting Styles
-- Berk's Boxing: Berk fights with a raw physical power few humans can match, his determination and tenacity often carry him through fights he cannot win in a punch or two. Though most of the time his fists and teeth are more than enough to break an opponents will to fight, if Berk is fighting seriously he'll use the Anchor he carries around on his back. D-rank added aspect: Water Manipulation.
-1.) Tyrant Fist: By flexing all the muscles in his hand in unison as he punches, raw strength combined with his naturally rough skin is enough to pierce foes. The force of Berk's punch is so intense that it crushes bone and is fully capable of denting steel with a direct hit. Also, he can tear out a set of his teeth and use them like a set of spiked knuckles! Rank 1
-2.) Berk Up: Berk can cause the muscles in his arms to explode with strength several times a day (think Zoro's Ichi-Ni Gorilla); this doubles the effective strength of the next attack used by either arm. Using both arms on one attack does boost it slightly past double strength, but doesn't double the doubling. At his current level, Berk can use this tech 3 times per thread. Rank 2
-3.) Depth Surge: Only usable when submerged (preferably in a large body of water). Berk pushes against the water around him with all four of his limbs, launching him with all of his considerable strength forwards in a blurred mass of bubbles at high speed! Rank 1
-4.) Rippling Fist: Berk smacks his opponent in the chest, focusing all of his considerable strength into a palm strike, putting an inhuman amount of pressure on their organs. This might do anything from stun tougher opponents to cause Cardiac arrest in people far below Berk's level, either way, the strain of having your heart and lungs slammed is enough to take the spring out of most people's step.
There are several factors that can greatly impede the effectiveness of this technique; such as if the chest is covered by steel, if the target is a cyborg with an artificial chest cavity, or if the opponent has an extremely thick layer of body fat. Rank 2
-5.) Back Breaker: By seizing the opponent by the head and then grabbing their feet with his off hand, Berk lifts his opponent over his head before slamming them down over his back. The force of this is enough to break bone in most humans. (This is primarily used against NPCs (grunts), since most OCs won't let themselves be grabbed.) Rank 1
-Variant
-Back Breaker (Inverted): The technique begins like a regular "Back Breaker" but then Berk leaps into the air and lands on his opponent back first, using his technique "Berk Wall" to protect against recoil damage and maximize the force exerted by the attack.
-6.) Mizu Tetsu (Iron Water): Berk takes a handful of water, then flings it at his foe with the velocity of a bullet! By using only one finger, Berk can shoot a single droplet, like a bullet from a pistol. Rank 2
-Variants:
-Mizu Tetsu, Spray: A variation of Berk's Mizu Tetsu. By flinging open all his fingers as he hurls the water, Berk can create a blast like the pellets of a shotgun.
-Mizu Testu, Hou: A technique derived from Berk's Mizu Testu. By just hurling the whole handful of water from a cupped palm, Berk gives it the strength of a small cannon.
--Anchor Kempo: The art of using an anchor and chain as a weapon system capable of great flexibility and power. Berk is self-taught. D-rank added aspect: Air-wave strikes.
-1.) Gravity Twister: Berk swings his anchor over his head by its chain, creating a vortex around him. The technique is imbued with properties similar to 'Gravity Wave' and anyone running into the vortex is struck as though they were hit with near continuous anchor strikes. Rank 2
-Variants:
-Gravity Vortex: A horizontal version of Berk's Gravity Twister, it creates a five foot wide conical wind tunnel that shoots outwards about fifteen feet.
-Gravity Maelstrom: An aquatic variant of Berk's Gravity Twister. Can be used to create temporary whirlpools. The size of the whirlpool depends on the depth it's used at, with it's maximum size achieved at about forty feet.
-2.) Gravity Shield: Berk seizes his anchor by it's chain, swinging the massive metal mass in front of him to ward off physical blows and discourage attacks. Rank 1
-3.) Gravity Swing: Berk grabs the ring on the back of his anchors haft, then pivots on his heel, swinging the huge weapon in an arch around him. Also, by holding the chain attached to his anchor, Berk can give this attack reach (up to about 15 ft.) Rank 1
-4.) Gravity Spear: Berk hurls his anchor at his opponent like a javelin, hopefully hitting them. If they manage to dodge out of the way, Berk pulls back on the chain, possibly impaling his foe on the curling hooks of his anchor. Rank 1
-5.) Gravity Smash: Berk drops down on his opponent with his feet on the curves of his anchor, crushing his foe under their combined weight. Rank 1
-6.) Gravity Wave: Berk swings his anchor with all of his might, creating a vertical line of blunt force that hits with the same force as his anchor would normally hit with. Right now, Berk can only aim this technique directly ahead of him to a range of 20 ft. Rank 2
-Variant:
-Gravity Shockwave: Much like the air-attack "Gravity Wave," Berk swings his anchor to create waves of blunt force. The difference is that for "Shockwave" the Fishman swings his anchor horizontally instead of vertically. The arc he swings in is wider, covering 270 degrees of his periphery (not quite a full circle), as a result of this the attack is better suited for use against groups of enemies; though the ability to cover a wider spread is balanced with a loss of range. The 20 ft range of "Gravity Wave" is cut in half to 10 ft. The attack still hits with force comparable to a regular strike of Berk's anchor.
-7.) Gravity Stingray: Swimming with all of his innate Fishman speed, Berk trails his anchor behind him and drags it through the water. Cutting close to either a water bound opponent or a ship, Berk hooks them with the pointed curves of his anchor. In most cases this furious attack is enough to impale someone, or tear a long gash through a ships hull. *Impalement only on NPCs or willing PCs* Rank 1
-8.) Gravity Rampage: Berk's first true finishing move is also one of the simplest. Berk hooks his anchor into something (person, object, building, tree) and swings his anchor with all his strength, dragging heavier objects at first, but eventually building centrifugal force until the object is off the ground and blurring with speed. Then Berk swings it all into the target with a terrible impact, also this can be end with his opponent (whose been hooked) being slammed into the ground. Rank 1
-9.) Gravity Flood: Once a foe is trapped in one of his whirlpools from 'Gravity Maelstrom', Berk causes the whirlpool to collapse and drown his foe (assuming they can't breath water). Rank 1

{Spoiler} Berk the Fishman was born into a beautiful world under the waves. His mother was Shiomari, and his father was named Uther, they lived near the Island of Cinna in South Blue. These would be the happiest years Berk would know for a long while, for when he was all of five years old his family was attacked when they journeyed up on to land to barter for supplies. His mother was killed in the initial encounter, and he and his father were taken as captives by the slavers, part of a large criminal organization. At first, Berk’s father told him that they would be saved before too long, he said the Marines of B-2 would never allow justice to be trampled on like this. The two gyojin quickly found out, however, that because they weren’t humans, no one would try and help them. Eventually Berk and his father were sold to a powerful land-owner on Cinna where the two of them worked beside many savage peoples taken from areas outside the known world. The two of them grew strong from constantly having to grow and carry increasingly heavy loads of sugarcane, Cinna’s premier crop. They worked for the planter, Mr. Chiric, for years and over time Uther began to have to earn his keep in other ways. Chiric was a gambler, and would often set up wagers with his fellow gentry: bets on fights! Being a Fishman, a Tiger Shark at that, it became clear that the humans he was being matched up against were not in the same league, Chiric had to raise the stakes to keep fights coming. The run of fights Uther won was impressive, he won twelve bouts before he finally lost. Berk watched his father die when he was nine, watched the three humans armed with swords that had been his father’s opponents at Chiric’s command hack him to bits. At this point, Berk’s world was filled with hate, hate for the world that would do this to the only people he ever loved, hate for the world where money could buy a man’s life. Berk continued to serve on Chiric’s plantation until he was seventeen, when he turned fourteen it was his turn to fight for his supposed “master’s” entertainment. Berk had inherited his father strength and fought hard. He relished the chance to fight, the chance to bring the pain he felt everyday of his life to another. These fights were little more than slaughter, Berk fought with no finesse and hardly made any effort to protect himself, leaving him with many scars across his body.
But just when it seemed that Berk would remain in chains for the rest of his days, everything changed. One day while he was working in Chiric’s field, a group of strangers came to the plantation; armed to the teeth. One of these outsiders spoke, introducing them as the Red Dog Pirates; then they turned to the slaves, “Who of you would take up arms and turn your back on these chains?” All of the slaves dropped the sugarcane they had spilt so much blood to grow and moved towards these liberators. After a moment or two all of the slaves had had their bonds broken and the mob made their way up towards the manor house where Chiric ruled his farm from. Though Chiric had some men loyal to him that he armed to keep the slaves in line, the pirates easily dispatched them and looted the plantation, burning it to the ground for good measure. In the end, young Berk joined their crew as their cabin boy. There he learned the ways of piracy, learning to box like a real fighter and slowly he began to find solace on the open seas. The freedom of the pirates was outside of everything he had ever known for over a decade, and Berk quickly found himself living his life once again. After journeying with the Red Dog Pirates aboard their ship “the Old Hound” for almost two years, Berk had decided that this would be his life’s work. To be a pirate, and live free for the rest of his days seemed like the only way to live. Though he had found new purpose and a new will to survive, his time with the Red Dog Pirates would be short-lived. They’re luck eventually ran out and they were sunk in battle by two Marine Battleships, any who weren’t killed were taken prisoner, all except Berk who escaped beneath the waves. Once the battle was over, Berk stayed at the site of the wreck for several days to mourn the friends who had given him freedom and lost their own. From that day forward, Berk vowed to grow stronger and protect his friends, even if it took the rest of his life. To this end, Berk took the anchor from the wreckage of the “Old Hound” and trained himself to wield it. Berk came to his training ground when he was twenty, it’s been three years since then and finally Berk feels the call of adventure draw him to test his strength against the tests of the world.
