Bare Bare no Mi
English Name:– Barrel Barrel Fruit
Classification:– Paramecia
Owned By:– "Barrel-Chested" Rootbeard
Appearance:– Fruit resembles a crimson, hairy coconut, with the signature devil fruit spirals covering the shell. The hairs end in little swirls themselves, and the meat and water inside is a rather unappetizing-looking, thick, earthy brown.
Ability:–
This fruit, upon consumption, transforms the user's torso into a large barrel; within the barrel, there is a mysteriously vacant space where the Barrel Man's organs should be, and the user can unhinge their neck/shoulder area in order to drop stuff down and store them in there. The user also has a little spout where their belly button should be, allowing them to dispense their contents from there if said contents are small or fluid enough to fit through.
The supernatural element of this fruit is its ability to take advantage of the term "to barrel through something." This allows the user, when rolling on their side, to clobber their way through anything in their path, being virtually unstoppable and invincible from the front. Any normal object or person in its path, even one of extreme size and density, is incapable of stopping the barrel from continuing along its path, often resulting in people being flattened, or exceptionally tall individuals being tripped. The user can stop themselves, although it takes a good 5-10 seconds for him to decelerate enough to completely stop. With enough skill, they can even roll across the surface of the water if enough momentum has been achieved.
Quirks:-
Perhaps due to the fact that barebare in Japanese can mean "obvious" or "transparent," the user is largely incapable of lying, and just blatantly states anything that pops into their head.
Weaknesses:–
- Although the user can't be physically stopped no matter the opposing force, effects other than that, such as extreme temperatures or (when focused on his organic bits) electricity, can be just as damaging as on a normal human. Fire in particular is very effective, as it can set his barrel alight, causing him especially heavy burns.
- Armament Haki is capable of affecting the Barrel Man through both his seemingly inorganic barrel body and his indomitable "barreling," and is even capable of stopping him in his tracks with enough strength behind the Haki.
- In standing water, the user cannot instigate his "barreling," loses control of his abilities, and is drained of his energy. The same goes for when the Barrel Man is in contact with seastone. Seastone structures, or even seastone-enforced structures are one of two known things that can stop the barreling Ability User in their tracks.
- It should also be noted that physical attacks, when directed at the back half of the rolling user, are not in any way hindered; the user takes just as much damage as he would if he wasn't barreling his way through.
