Hen Hen no Mi no Mi
English Name:– Change Change Fruit
Classification:– Paramecia
Owned By:– Simon Sinclaire
Appearance:– Before it was eaten, the Hen Hen no Mi took the form of a large golden bell pepper. As is common of most devil fruits, the Hen Hen no Mi possessed a swirl pattern. The swirls on the fruit appeared quite randomly on the fruit. Some parts of the fruit lacked the swirl, other parts had the swirls overlapping.
Ability:– The person who consumes the Hen Hen no Mi gains the ability to break, reform, and change objects. For objects to be broken down, the user must come in physically touch the object with their left hand. Furthermore, in order to reform or change objects, the user must first break it down. Because objects that are broken down can become several little pieces, direct contact is not required to reform or change objects. For objects to be reformed/changed, the user must have their right hand within five feet away.
The greatest power of the Hen Hen no Mi lies within its power of transmutation. Transmutation allows the user to transform an object into another object with the same properties. For example, a user could transmute a steel sword into several steel darts.
When objects are disassembled by the power, they become cubes that are proportional in size to whatever it breaks down. For example, if the user wanted to split a 5x5 box into two, it'd become two 2.5x2.5 cubes. If the user wanted to split a 5x5 box into a hundred pieces, it'd become a hundred mini cubes that take up the same amount of space as that 5x5 box.
Objects that are disassembled remain as cubes unless the user reassembles them. It should be noted that the cubes still retain the properties of the object it was prior to disassembly. Because it retains the same properties, the cubes can be used by other people. For example, if the user disassembled a piece of meat, a person could still fry up and consume the meat cubes.
When liquids are disassembled, they still become cubes and still retain the liquid properties. For example, if the user disassembled milk, the milk would become little liquid cubes that could still be consumed.
The Hen Hen no Mi cannot create something out of nothing. When reforming an object, if it is missing pieces, it cannot be reformed wholly. For example, if there is a hole in the ship, the user cannot disassemble the damaged part and reform it into a fixed part without using extra materials. Using the damaged ship example, if there was a hole in the ship that could be patched up with wood, the user could disassemble the wood and that specific part of the ship and then assemble the pieces to seal the hole.
When using the Hen Hen no Mi to assemble objects, the objects do not become cubic. For example, if the user disassembled a piece of paper, when the user puts the paper back together, it'll return to its former state instead of becoming a rectangular prism.
Weaknesses:– In order to break things down, energy must be spent. The more mass an object has, the more energy is required to break it down. Excessive use of the fruit's ability to disassemble things causes the user to become fatigued. In a fatigued state that is induced by the fruit, the user is unable to use the fruit's powers and all forms of Haki. Furthermore, as a result of adjusting objects in any way, heat energy is generated. If the ability is used in rapid succession, the user can severely burn themselves.
The fruit is further limited by the natural laws of science. For one, the fruit must adhere to the law of conservation of mass. That is, the Hen Hen no Mi cannot create or destroy matter. If the user disassembles an object that weighs 10 pounds, then the parts must also weigh a collective ten pounds. In addition, the fruit cannot transmute/change an object into something with completely different properties. For example, the user cannot turn a glass of water into a steel sword; however, the user can turn a steel sword into a steel spear.
