Personality
Subservient - His many years spent as a slave has taught him to obey without question.
Submissive - Simon shies away from saying or doing anything that may cause conflict. He prefers to avoid all conflict because he has a great fear of everyone.
Dependent - Simon has a hard time separating from others. The thought of being alone is frightening. He depends on/needs somebody to support him at all times.
Addict - Addiction runs in his family. Though he hasn't drunk or smoked since he became a slave, one is all it'll take to send him spiraling back into addiction.
Appearance
He has long black hair that flows almost to his butt. If it were up to him, he'd have his hair cut much shorter than it currently is. His eyes are gray and rather dull; they reflect a sort of hopelessness. Simon stands at 5'10" and weighs about 120 lbs. He is quite thin as a result of malnourishment. Much of his body is covered in cuts and bruises from the cruel treatment from his master. As for clothing, his master refuses to provide him with anything to wear other than filthy rags.
Traits
Wasted Potential - The Suii Suii No Mi requires a strong knowledge of chemistry and alchemy. Unfortunately, Simon has never had a formal education, nor has he ever independently studied the aforementioned subjects. As a result of his lack of training, his fruit is extremely underdeveloped.
Fighting Styles
Simon has absolutely no fighting skill whatsoever.
Devil Fruit: Suii Suii no Mi
Background
"To be free is to be free from all of the things that are holding you back. Someday, I hope to be free like that."
Simon was born in the kingdom of Alabasta. His father and mother were a rotten pair of thieves and addicts. Despite being the literal filth of Alabasta, the Sinclaire's had enough decency to not leave their newborn to rot in gutters. No, they were responsible enough to take care of little Simon; they just weren't responsible enough to take good care of Simon. For his entire childhood, he survived off scraps, and his only source of hydration came from the bottle.
Growing up with the filth of the kingdom, he was surrounded by poor influences 24/7. It was no surprise that Simon became the spitting image of his father at the age of 9. He drank, he smoked, he stole, but could you really judge him? It was the only life he ever knew and the only way he would ever survive. When it came to stealing, he usually stole food from unsuspecting merchants or nimbly picked the pockets of unaware travelers. On the very rare occasion, he stole from his parents. As I mentioned before, Simon had addiction in his DNA, and he found it hard to resist taking a couple bottles from parent's stash every now and then when they were too drunk to realize.
At the age of 12, his father had found quite the rarity: a devil fruit. Of course, the Sinclaire's were well aware of the treasure that they had "found." They imagined that it could fetch quite the fortune—enough that they'd be set until the day they died. It was a shame that their starving son had no idea how valuable it was. On the night that the Sinclaire's had "found" the fruit, they decided to celebrate with a drink. Well, one drink turned into two and two into three, and well, I'm sure you can figure how much it escalated from there. In their drunken stupor, they were none the wiser to Simon's heist. Upon seeing the fruit, he was mystified. In all his years, he had never seen a fruit with such a unique and intricate pattern. He wondered what it was and how it tasted. Surely a fruit with an extravagant design had an extravagant taste. After talking himself into it, he took the fruit and bit into it.
IT TASTED AWFUL!
Immediately, he spat the bite that he had taken out and scraped his tongue with his hands. To further wash away the taste, he stole a bottle of his parent's liquor and washed it down after leaving their quarters.
The next morning, a pair of rather unhappy people came to their little house. A quick shot to the mother's head and a swift beating for the father had him instantly regretting pilfering the two men. In an effort to spare his life, he promised to return the fruit. When he went to grab the fruit, he had found that it had a massive bite taken out of it. Of course, he begged for his life like a coward and blamed Simon for the fruit's powers being wasted. Naturally, the two put a bullet in his head and kidnapped a sleeping Simon.
Simon woke up in the brig of a ship with several other children of varying races. There, he found out what fate had in store for him. After the painfully long trip, he found himself auctioned off as a human slave.
