Name of Island: Stained Glass Isle
Island Description: An island best known for it's mysterious Hill of Sorrows, which is said to turn your flesh to glass when the conditions are right. Other attractions include the many churches, with stained glass windows rumoured to predict the rise and fall of kingdoms, and the incredible glass structures created by the smelters.
Size of Island: The island could be compared to the size of Alabasta.
Location: The Dream Route of the Grand Line: Paradise.
Log Pose Time: Approximately 3 days.
Climactic Type: Autumn
Climate: Frosty and crisp, it almost never rains. Most water sources are provided through the island's many waterholes and pristine lakes. Seasons vary from winter and Autumn, the temperature never rising above 24 degrees Celsius. During the cold seasons, it can get foggy, so foggy you can't see a meter in front of you. Harsh light is a constant, although sun is mostly invisible, the light seems to come from all around you.
Island Appearance: The isle is shaped like a crossiant, but noticeably fatter in the middle, and has a sharp sloped elevation too. The inlet of water enclosed by the two points is shrouded by a rocky over hang, and the waves are trapped, meaning currents around the other sides of the island but calm waters are contained within the cove. It's best to enter near the inlet or risk you and your crew's lives.
Flora and Fauna:
Glass Squirrel:
This animal's fur is has the cold transparent properties of glass, but the texture of the softest fur of a doe, which is often used to make beautiful slippers.
This creature is a wily one, using the harsh light to its advantage. It has evolved to use light refraction to blind larger opponents. Much like a magpie it likes to steal shiny things, and keeps its gleaming bounty high in the natural pines of the isle.
Whistlebird:
This animal got its name through its uniquely shaped beak, which is strangely exactly like a whistle. When it emits its harsh calls, the shrill piercing sound can luckily only be heard by very sensitive ears. The birds are also capable of lower pitched noises that decrease in volume the lower they go. They are definitely not solitary and will use numbers to their advantage. It is only as large as a robin and although its size, it should not be underestimated. If its territory is invaded, it will attack with no regard for their life. If you thought taking one of them down was no sweat, then be prepared for a flock of them flying in formation, preparing to unleash their deadly low pitched sonic whistle.
Stained Glass Flowers:
From roses to chrysanthemums, the flowers of this isle have been completely replaced with stained glass, causing them to shatter easily and become more vivid in colour, especially during dawn when the morning sun shines bright.
Opaque Bush:
This aptly named flora grows small berries that are perfectly spherical, and when placed against unnatural glass humans or animals, causes it to return to natural form. These are very rare, withering when all the berries are plucked. They are very distinctive, the leaves being a murky white that seems to swirl like fog.
Inhabitants:
The isle is mainly populated by humans, although it isn't uncommon to see the occasional longarm or longleg.
Prominent Organizations, Groups and Establishments:
Stained Glass Isle has multiple prominent groups, one being the glass smelters Èperlan Verre, known for making the main variety of the glass sculptures the island uses as their main trade, and the shadowy group known to the locals as Miroirs Masque, the organised crime group run by some of the nobles of the city who enforce law and order.
The Chouette Family: This noble family are the rulers of the Lucide Region, and are responsible for the maintenance of the churches in this region. Of the three families, this family is of most regard by the locals of the island. On account of them not lying and cheating their way to the top, they are the weakest of the three, with less mercenaries and money to bribe others. They also own Port Clair, the main of the ports, giving them the best sea trade. The family's leader is Sophie du Chouette, referred to by the people as 'Maman' Sophie. The only daughter of the Chouette family is Lucy du Chouette, who is an avid glass smelter despite her heritage.
The Bouvreuil Family:
The family that owns the Fenêtre region, they are ruthless and will back stab their allies and rivals alike. They own the other port, Port Clartè, which has a reputation for being the middleman of many black market operations. The leader of the family is 'Greyhound' Marco, and he has two twin sons, Clancy and Lachlan, often called the Hellhound duo. The family own many trained hounds that are viscous and specifically selected for their brutality.
The Colibri Family:
This is the largest and most prestigious noble family on Stained Glass Isle, they have control of both the Brumèx Region and the Verre Region, meaning although they have no ports, they control the highest region and the Hill of Sorrows, giving rise to the claim the Colibri have the ability to turn you into glass. They have secret operations going on within the King's Republic, deals in shady alleyways, and imported goods from across the Grand Line. The leader of the Colibri's is Monsieur Calatrux (pronounced Ca as in car, La as in land Trux with u like in you, and silent x) a devious man with big ambitions. He has a son and a daughter respectively named; Edward, and Evie. Edward is a quiet man who wishes to escape the island and pursue becoming a marine, Evie is always clothed in a veil because (speculation claims) her eyes can turn you to glass.
Fashion
High fashion is in esteem on the isle, and the style is quite elegant and extravagant. (If you haven't already guessed the inspiration behind names and culture is France). Frills and corsets are not uncommon around the women of the isle, and although the southern side of the island is slightly less formal, it still is considered proper to wear at least smart casual. The men's fashion is often suits and gloves, though many of the port workers and smelters wear a slightly less business like style.
Politics
The World Government holds no power on this island, nor the marines or pirates. Although a neutral relationship is maintained with the main powers of the world, the internal conflict between powers is high. The Miroir Masquè are the main cause of this and place tension on the real rulers of the island, occasionally blackmailing or ransoming key political parts of the republic. Each noble family attempt to prise power from each other, creating a civil 'Cold War.' The common people live in almost ignorance of the turmoil their country is in, as although the Senate seems to hold power, led by the King, who is little more than a figurehead for the Colibri Family.
Industry
The isle is known for its famed Hill of Sorrows, attracting many tourists, although also for its glass sculptures which are imported throughout the Blues.
Cuisine
The culture of the isle isn't known for a wide range of food, though most restaurants and markets have very high quality of ingredients. A few examples of specialty dishes include clear squirrel, coated in an almost consommé sauce, so the dish appears to be transparent. Another example are the Glass noodles, which are imported to make specialty dishes from spaghetti to soups.
NPCS:
Edward Colibri:
The mysterious leader of Miroir Masque, when in public he comes across as a kind man, but is working as an agent for his father in conjunction with his sister's devil fruit ability. He is about 24 yrs old.

A year younger than her brother, 23 years old, they work closely in conjunction to achieve the family's goals.
King Élaguer:
A stocky man who's years of indulgence have caught up with him, now the country is run by the Senate, as the King is too old and tired to make important decisions. The senate is lead by a Colibri infiltrator, but the people would be shocked if they knew that the Colibri Family ruled their island, so the King is their puppet to do as they wish. He has no heir and secludes himself away in his castle near the Hill of Sorrows.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:

Marines are more welcome here than anywhere else on Stained Glass Isle. The many churches around this area are kept in good maintenance by the Chouette Family's very own servants.
Porcelain Town: A small rural town on the border of the Fenêtre region. There isn't much to say about this town except that several nearby churches have passages underground leading to Porcelain Town.
Fenêtre Region: The region bordering the Lucide Region, it's the territory of the Bouvreuils.

Brumèx Region: The largest region, with two cities and a village, it's owned by the Colibris.
Hill of Sorrows:
At midnight, they say that those with the greatest despair are drawn to the hills energy. As they pour out their wishes to the hill, a ghost veiled in white comes to turn you to glass. This village is almost barren, and those who do live there, are as far from the hill as possible. It's seen as a tourist attraction only for daredevils. The cause of this is the Colibri's prized devil fruit, the Kuri Kuri No Mi, giving the ability
Pane City: The largest and most prosperous city, with a population of 4,000, this bustling city has beautiful views, gazing out over the calm waters of the cove. Island Plot Hooks:
A crewmate has been turned to glass! Get to the bottom of this! (Everyone)
The production of glass sculptures have stopped. Attempt to find the culprit. (Marines can solve the mystery, Pirates can be the culprit if they want)
Island History:
When the island was first colonised, it was reputed as a cursed placed as its flora and fauna were unnaturally transparent and delicate, so much that the rumour began to spread that all who go there would be transformed into glass. When the settlers first got there, some 300 years ago, they discovered that the island was littered with unusual churches. The churches had huge sprawling tapestries made from stained glass. Although very vague and unclear, the tapestries depict the isle rising out of the sea. The isle's history was then dismissed as yet another mystery that the void century left in its wake. Gradually more and more cities were founded, beginning with Pane City, followed by the Doll Shrine. At this point, civilisation slowed down, until a half century later.
True population and major immigration occurred when a noble family moved to Stained Glass Isle, intending to supply goods to the surrounding islands, as the isle was in a strategic position to other islands along the Dream Route. When a major iron smelting company were shipwrecked on Stained Glass Isle, they resurfaced as smelters extraordinaire, able to shape glass like clay, and making amazing glass structures. And so Èperlan Verre was born. A number of years later, there was a schism in the noble family, and they split into 3, each agreeing not to rule the land, appointing a ruler elected by the people, who's bloodline would eventually lead to King Èlaguer. As time went on, and Stained Glass Isle gained its name, the noble families were corrupted. One used their influence to create a black market for illegal goods, and another sent their agents into the royal family's government.
We come to present day, where gradually the fame of Stained Glass Isle has grown, the government has withered, and most on the isle live in prosperity. But recently, there has been revolts throughout the people. Some agree, though silently for fear for their life. Those who are bolder seek out the darkest places. The revolutionary group Miroir Masque was founded. They started off with simple acts. Aimed at the nobles. Kidnappings, ransoming, terror attacks. But now, a new leader with bigger ambitions has taken the reins. Miroir Masque are stepping up their game. Inch by inch they gain control. Beating the corrupt at their own game. They're smarter with their money and investments. And they've gotten friendlier with the World Government. This gives them the power to take the isle, through bribery and blackmail.
The tourist situation of Stained Glass Isle is relatively good, but is often seen as more of a luxury, considering the expensive prices for basic goods. There are tour guides around the isle, though most prominently near the Hill of Sorrows. The tunnels of Porcelain Town are often seen as an adventure for all. Hotels are found in vast quantity in the Brumèx Region, and prominent officials often come to visit.
Props to anyone who finds all the references to media and literature.
