Cold moist dark and eire, most of the isles in the North Blue were the same. The cold weather usually being associated with darkness and despair or even death. People even say they feel a chill when a ghost or a dark presence is near. And this place was no different from the rest including Otto’s home of Pikt Archipelago, also a North blue isle, which was covered in snow most months of the year. So why was he stopping here on another North blue island? Well it was simple there were a few reasons one Pikt is one of the most northern islands in the world, so the chances he would make it out of the North Blue without stopping would be slim to none. Second was an invitation to a ball sent out across the North Blue. There was no way Otto was going to miss the biggest party this sea had ever seen. And lastly was a job posting from the bulletin board i the Marines office. A missing man, a husband and father of 8 oh yeah and he's a clown. Been missing three days now and this was his last known whereabouts.
The sea was gentle this day a good thing for Otto was the only person manning this vessel his own small sail boat perfect for traveling the blue seas. Fully customized by the workers on Pikt with two cells to hold caught bounties instead of extra bunking area. He was usually alone being a bounty hunter not to say he did not work well with others or didn't enjoy the company of others. He just felt as if it was easier to fight when you didn't have to worry about someone else getting hurt. But for other things it made it fairly difficult like maneuvering his ship in stormy conditions. He nearly capsized on his last mission as a ten foot wave smashed the side of his ship. It was definitely hard to be alone sometimes.
The afro headed young man heads to the helm steering the slow paced ship into the harbor. “So this is Houma creepy.. Oh well time to go see if there's any good food around here” he says as he rushes back toward the rear of the ship to drop anchor and toss a rope over to tie to the deck post. The monkey man then goes into his cabin to grab his sack and a few previsions before venturing onto the isle. Otto flings the old backpack over his shoulder and leaps over the edge of the ship onto the wooden deck making a loud thud as he reached the surface. A sign on the end of the deck reading welcome to Koumori.
The place was quiet even the folks working in the harbor were oddly quiet as they lugged around stacks of lumber and hammered upon ships. The town folk shopping looked content enough carrying loads of new acquired stuff yet they too were missing that spark of life. Otto continued to glance around looking for a shady looking place in an already shady looking town. Thats where he would end up finding information about the missing man and perhaps rent a room while he stayed here. THE SMOTHERING CAULDRON “That's sounds sketchy enough” he says to himself as he walks into the old establishment. It was a rather large place with at least twenty rooms for rent the kind of place any visitor would stop at upon first arrival. The type of place that criminals hunt for marks. Mr.Saix heads to the front desk and taps the bell two times quickly a voice from a short distance answering the call “I'll be right with you”. A moment went passed then another and another with still no sign from the voice. Otto peers over the counter attempting to see where the voice came from with no result. He leaned back to his natural slouched position and continued to wait. Another moment passed and then another until the hunter was fed up with waiting and went to tap the bell again. Just as his hand hovered over the brass bell a bony hand grabbed Otto’s wrist the same voice calling out to him “ I told you I'd be right with you.” said the skeleton of a mof as he slowly released his guest arm. “Now… How can I help you Sir?”
Otto rubbed the area of his wrist the man just grabbed “strong grip for a skinny guy” he thought. “I'd like a room for a few nights.” replied Otto as he placed his lack on the redwood counter to retrieve his money. “ No no pay as you leave Sir you never know how long you'll stay around Koumori.” he says his voice sounding more ominous as he spoke. “And will you be the only one staying in the room?” questions the desk attendant. Otto nodding as the man turn around to a key rack to retrieve his room key. He grabs a single key attached to a number 18 key chain. “Here you are Sir, room 18 is up the stairs and down the hall on your right. The bar is through these doors and closes at 4AM, breakfast starts at 6.Will you need the bag boy to help you with your things?”. Otto tossing his pack back on his back then grabbing the key before heading for the stairs. “No thanks Skeletor.” he says under his breath waving no back towards the man.
