Alex seemed annoyed at him, giving him a fierce glare. The treasure didn't matter, she said, we have to get to Eden. 'But that's exactly what he said not to do!' he cried. 'Look, I don't know about you, but listening to Eden, although he can be dumb at times, will get you places. He has this kind of internal compass, and when we're in danger, he will know what to do.' Zen looked around hopelessly, his palms sweaty. Of course he wanted to rescue Eden. He was his captain. He knew in his heart it was the right thing to do. We can always get the treasure later...
The robed man dodged the strikes that the boy and his friend had sent after him in deadly circles. The two together still weren't a match for him. Perhaps if that boy from earlier came... The crime lord dashed through the attacks, performing an acrobatic jump that would have earned him entrance to the circus easily, leading the two set on killing him towards where the other was. Dashing through overgrown stone, he entered the main chamber, where the last boy was standing, a torn expression on his face that was replaced by shock as he saw his comrades.
Zen broke out of his thoughts at the sight of the same figure he had met after coming out of the tunnels. He mouthed a simple I'm sorry to Alex and Eden, before engaging in combat with the man. Currently, the things most dangerous to him was Alex's sword and Eden's wood fist, as the man dodged every attack, making them over stretch and come too close for liking to Zen's face.
He swung downwards with the hybrid glove in one hand and a knife in the other, but it soon became clear they weren't going to get anywhere by blindly striking at him. They had to use their numbers to their advantage. If they caused destruction in the environment while attacking him, he couldn't possibly dodge it all. Darting backwards, Zen threw his sabretooth gauntlet off. It morphed into a great beast with mighty haunches, it's maw salivating and its claws sharp and hungry. As it dived into the mix, Zen pulled his most volatile chemical out. A nasty combo of powdered iron sulfide, it would explode when it came into contact with air. Currently it was held in a vacuum sealed tube. The only problem with his plan was the fact that it would most likely damage his two companions as well. The other thing he could do with the material was cause a landslide, and again, it would injure everyone. His last resort was to combine it with hydrochloric acid, forming a corrosive substance that would produce a smelly gas, and if he diluted it enough, it wouldn't be toxic. That was the safest option, and it would stick to his mask, entering through the eyes.
Zen mixed a tiny bit of the powder into a small amount of acid. It hissed violently, but it was still in its protective case. Zen dashed towards his sabretooth, making it shift back into gauntlet form, before releasing the volatile mixture. It went off with a bang in the man's face, then spat a cloud of gas that caused him to cough and splutter.
The mixture wouldn't keep him for long, and he once again advanced...
