Named by Oda. Made legendary by Flame.
Name of Island:Illusia Island
Society:Illusia Kingdom
Size of Island:Illusia is a massive island, approximately double the size of Alabasta it is easily one of the largest islands in the West Blue.
Location:West Blue
Climate:The climate across the island varies massively from place to place, as expected of an island that is as large as this one. In general it can be said that Illusia has a temperate climate. The summers here are warm, the winters here are cold, but for the majority of the year the temperature is simply mild, neither too hot nor too cold. The western part of the isle is generally drier than the eastern part of the isle as rain clouds tend to come in from the east and have trouble passing by the island's main mountain range.
As expected the North tends to be cooler, and to the far north it remains cold enough to support a fairly large tundra year round. In the south it is generally warmer and has a generally wetter climate due to the mountain range not extending down towards it. This also makes for the more fertile climate of the south which promotes farming.
Island Appearance:Depending on where you are disembarking on Illusia your view can vary rather greatly. The southern coast tends to be small beaches leading up to either large fields or forests of some sort. The look will depend more on the weather than anything else. If you find yourself approaching buildings, you have either stumbled upon one of the few town-ports in which case there is likely a river nearby which you can take to go further in. From some of the northern shores one might be able to make out the tips of the Driatich Mountains that dominate the northern part of the island. If you come in really far north you will likely be greeted by uninhabited tundra or the Kian Bluffs in which case you should probably head south to find more happy civilization.
Flora and Fauna:Flora: Honestly the Flora upon Illusia Kingdom is rather standard. There is nothing particularly amazing that grows in Illusia Kingdom. All of the different areas have appropriate types of plant life. Trees cover the majority of the southern region where they have not been cleared away for farmland. They form great forests with mixes of both deciduous and coniferous trees. These forests appear in large tracks, beneath their canopies tend to grow shrubberies of many sorts as well as ferns and mosses. As one heads north, what forests there are become more and more solely coniferous as to survive the harsher winters of the Northern lands of Illusia.
What is not forested is almost always covered in farmland, especially in the south. Whether they grow, vegetables, corn, wheat, or rice such items dominate the landscape. Lands not dominated by the forest are generally far off from human civilization. In which case much ofthe land is covered in grass, short and tall. Forming prairies which can have miles of wildflowers.
Heading west, the Steppes in the Western Illusia have many short grasses, its barren landscape with hot days and cold nights make it untenable for many forms of life, thus leaving only the strongest of grasses and shrubs to survive there.
The tundra similarly to the steps is home to little in terms of flora. Tough grasses and shrubs dot the landscape and are often eaten dry by the inhabitants of said tundra. If one is lucky there is the uncommon berry bushes which grow here in the tundra. They are of the blueberry variation.
The deserts are nearly devoid of life to begin with, save for at the few and far between oasis upon which one might find the sole or perhaps even a pair of palm trees. Not even cacti live in the deserts of Illusia.
The mountains are at the least more flora-worthy than the deserts. Strong coniferous trees take root along the mountain's edge and climb upwards. Short grasses generally yellowed by the constant cloudiness climb even further. And finally bushes, strong and deeply rooted to tap the mountain's nutrients sit there. With both safe and unsafe fruits upon their bows, one may find most commonly raspberries and nightshade upon the mountains edge.
Apart from that there is of course the flora seen in the villages and cities of Illusia. Where as in the villages the flora is generally similar to what it is like outside of the village's bounds, in the greater cities a sense of beautification has overtaken them. In their inner sanctums nobles and more importantly their gardeners grow large deciduous trees, fancy gardens full of trimmed bushes and beautifully maintained flowers. As one slides farther from those nobles however the plant life become more plain and grim.Fauna: The fauna of Illusia is as diverse as its landscape. And while many creatures that live in Illusia are commonly seen in similar environments, there are some that are particularly unique to Illusia. Most are offshoots or cousins of their more commonly found relatives.
But to touch on the more common creatures, the forests of Southern Illusia teem with life. Animals such as foxes, deer, all sorts of rodents, hares, and birds fill the forests. Even the occasional black bear may be spotted here. Heading north weasels on the ground, and martens in the trees become more common in exchange for lacking diversity in the rodents as many of the larger rodents are unable to survive the harsher winters of the north. Bears also become more common as one goes north, as do wolves whom live in and around the mountain range. The wolves' appearance directly associates with the elk, that live in the northern wildlands of Illusia.
Snow Gorilla - Living in the Drietich Mountains, snow gorillas are gigantic white colored gorilla-looking creatures. Easily twice the save of a normal man, they live in caves within the mountains. With long white hair they are distinctively different from normal gorillas that are black haired. Snow Gorillas are omnivorous and are known to live in small packs of four to ten individuals. When going after live animals they hunt in groups of three surrounding and beating down their opponents with their natural strength and speed.
Deiyic Horses - A breed of horses living on the Steeple Steppes, they are nearly 1.5 times the size of normal horses. With thick legs and a slim-ish upper body by comparison they are capable of amazing feats of jumping and running. They are prized for their ability as horses and are the common choice of mount for the Knights of Illusia.
Greater Seagull - A large breed of seagull they are nearly eagle-sized. Living in the Kian Bluffs, these seagulls are mainly fish eaters preying on the fish that live in the seas below.
Giant Snow Weasel - Living on the Paeleon Tundra, giant snow weasels are massive members of the weasel family, particularly prized for their fur. Living in solitary or in pairs, the snow weasel blends in well with the tundra background making them extremely hard to spot, unless you can follow their deep black eyes as they scamper across the tundra. Giant Snow Weasels are extremely stealthy and can put on great amounts of speed over short dashes.
Giant Snow Rabbit - Like the snow weasels, giant snow rabbits (cousins of the normal-sized rabbits of the South) also live on the Paeleon Tundra. The other mainly hunted creature, giant snow rabbits are the size of hippos and move in families of twenty or more. With their large hind legs, they have been known to kick hunters hundreds of feet through the air with ease.
Inhabitants:In general the only inhabitants of Illusia Kingdom are humans. They are also caught in an almost feudal era system with the exception of Barbada Town which gets so much activity from outside groups whether they be pirates, merchants, etc. that it is slightly more advanced than that. Many of the residents of Illusia Kingdom are beaten down to an almost indentured servitude level. Only in some of the larger cities, towns, and villages will one find an emerging middle class who is starting to change the identity of Illusia Kingdom, something the nobles are not particularly a fan of.
At the center of this changing identity, is the marines, particularly of the B-4 Base. They have opened new prospects for the once indentured-servants-like poor classes. With a place to earn decent wages and a new source of income for middle-class workers, the marines are quickly beginning to affect the social order of Illusia. With jobs for creation of goods to sell to the marines and of course the jobs as marines being offered to the lower classes the general wealth level of Illusia has been on the rise.
Prominent Organizations, Groups and Establishments:Illusian Royal Army
Headquartered in Illias the capital, the Royal Army also spends it summers in Kian where they go hunting for pagans and bandits in the North lands. A massive army it is led by five different generals all of whom answer to the king. With two major forces situated at Kian and Illias the other three major armies are delegated large swaths of land upon which they can set their headquarters.
The Royal Army is used mainly in quelling rebellions, acting as police, as well as the general governing of the country. While many of the soldiers of the royal army are from farming families, those families have a somewhat elevated status. The Royal Army has also been sent out on World Government matters before, but it is generally only one of the five armies that is sent at any given time. At the current time the most prominent of the general's is a man by the name of Louis de Kian, once a noble in Kian he is likely the third most powerful man in Illusia.
Knights of Illusia
The special forces of the Illusian Army, the Knights of Illusia are a group of Illusian nobles, lords, dukes, etc.. They are generally second and third sons who, since they are not the main heir try to gain land by showing their brilliance in combat. Every knight goes through an extremely rough training regimen, so that when they come out they are top notch fighters. In their regimen they train with broadswords and lances, riding upon their mounts the Knights of Illusia are together the strongest wing of the Royal Army. When it comes to dealing with rebellions, they tend to be the first on the scene. Every month there is a tournament in which the knights fight to prove that they are the best of the group. The winner of the tournament is also appointed leader of the knights. The current head is a rare female knight by the name of Sarassa.
Illusian Royal Navy
A small rather desperate navy, it acts more like a coast guard with the Marines being the true navy. They are a small understaffed force that has no more than twenty ships to their name. Headquartered at Aria, the Illusian Royal Navy is lead by Admiral Gerard.
Church of Illusia
Apart from the state, the second greatest power in Illusia is the church. Centered in Kian, the church has spread across the entire country. Nearly having a church, abbey or something in every single town it is as widespread as the government. While it has no military force, because nearly 98% of the population are constituents of the church it has just as much power. And while not everyone is as faithful as the next, it is generally a bad idea to get on the wrong side of the church. Led by High Priest Elias, the church is one of the greatest powers in Illusia when it comes to politics. The church currently is heavily entwined with the government, with them sharing secrets and working together to become a nearly unbreakable pair. Through the church's guidings they lead people to put exorbitant amounts of faith in the state and vice versa.
Paeleon Hunter Crew
A rag-tag group of eight men, the Paeleon Hunter Crew inhabit a large guildhouse in Mallia Town. All of them are massive men, wielding crossbows, hunting rifles, and axes they are the best of the best when it comes to hunters. Making many trips a year into the Paeleon Northern Tundra, they bring back a large amount of furs and meat. While they do not look it, all of the eight are wealthy men from the selling of their spoils. The current leader is a man by the name of Lucius.
Lias Royal Breeders
Set in Lias the Royal Breeders have a large complex just outside of the town borders. Here they train the horses that are used by the Knights of Illusia and the generals. Back in the day there used to be a major theft problem when bandits would come in at night and steal horses out of the stables. But recently the Knights have come and there are a few every night that patrol the perimeter to keep such things from happening. The Lias Royal Breeders breed only the most top notch horses all of the Deiyic style these horses are the best of the best and at market can go for hundreds of thousands of beri.
Cryptics of Delli
Surrounding the Hermit in Delli Village, the cryptics of Delli are those devout followers of the Hermit. They live in the five hovels surrounding the Hermit's own. There is a process that every visitor must go through before they are allowed to meet the Hermit. This includes being divested of any weapons, being thoroughly cleaned, and going through an interview process where a cryptic questions you to ascertain your goals. While they are neither rich nor particularly politically powerful, the cryptics are well respected across Illusia because they spend much of their time with the well-respected hermit. In the end it is a small tightly knit group of people. They are smart and crafty as they go about their business. The cryptics are at the least, not anyone's fool.

Trends:Fashion
When it comes to fashion it feels generally like Illusia has been left in the past. Among all classes it is fashionable for the women to wear long dresses, for example sundresses are rather common. The more extravagant the color and the decorations generally the higher class the person is. For men, clothing tends to be simple shirts, vests, and pants. Similarly to women it is the color and adornments that show fashion. The poor tend to wear very bland knock-offs of what the nobility wear. Such clothing tends to be ripped, made of rougher material, and generally not quite as comfortable. It also tends to be uncolored, commonly tans and browns are colors commonly seen among these folk. Most take what they can get, some who are lucky sow them in the fashion that they try to emulate.
Furs are popular among those who can afford them, they are used for scarves and coats. The king is known to wear a full cloak made solely of fur. For the knights, they were armor done over with colorful cloths and the insignia of those they owe their fealty to. The knights as they clop around upon their horses tend to wear leather armor beneath their clothing and in general do not wear masks of any sort. At their sides they wield broadswords, these swords are made slightly longer than usual to make up for the increased height of the horse. Of course they are not made too long otherwise they would be unwieldy to use upon the ground. In general the knights do not carry their lances, having squires or the like to carry such weapons for them.
Politics
As one of the founding member nations of the World Government, Illusia Kingdom is generally held in line with the World Government's policies. Within its borders however the government has not progressed very far. It remains a feudal monarchy, with almost all the power being held by the king. As it goes down from there, the nobles and knights all owe fealty to him personally and he thus gifts them land to work. And by work he means have the peasantry work.
The other political power in Illusia is the Church of Illusia. A corrupt group they have strong ties to the military and the state. Here in Illusia it is truly a marriage of church and state.
Industry
The main source of income and trade resource of Illusia is agriculture. Nearly 35% of Illusia's landmass is dedicated to agriculture of some sort. The food stuffs from Illusia manages not only to feed Illusia's own burgeoning population but also is spread about to nearby islands. Other than the massive agriculture industry, Illusia is well known for its horses and furs. Both are prized commodities that are carefully obtained and shipped to those who want it.
Cuisine
The cuisine of Illusia is very much based around the agriculture which it grows. Many dishes are based around hearty wheat based products such as bread and noodles. Used in combination with tomatoes, celery, onions, squashes, etc. which are commonly grown in the farms of Illusia these form the basis of all dishes eaten by the peasantry. For those who really have nothing they at times will eat the wheat grains without forming it into other products. Beef, chicken, and lamb are also commonly eaten here, the cows are bred on ranches in the south of the Steeple Steppes and the chicken and lamb are done through many farm houses. Such meats are however usually sold to the upper classes who have more free money to buy such niceties. It is much rarer to see the lower classes eating them.
One of the more unique/exquisite dishes that can be obtained in Illusia is stewed Giant Rabbit. The meat is cooked until it literally melts in one's mouth. Combined in a stock of vegetables it is said to be a beautiful mix of flavors. The other popular dish is a dessert which is honey preserved peaches. Left in jars full of honey it is a delicacy dessert.

High Priest Elias
High Priest Elias is a venerable old man. In his eighties now he has been the leader of the church for the last forty-seven years. It is a fact that he does not let anyone forget and demands the respect that his years in charge have earned him. A corrupt man, the High Priest rules over the church with an iron fist. The upper levels of the church's 'bureaucracy' are filled with his people thus cementing his position as High Priest likely until his death. Even in his old age the High Priest is witty, intelligent, cunning, and a master of words.
The high priest is somewhat wrinkled, wearing a cloak of purple he is actually quite tall for his age. It is this lankiness tat is quite odd about him. The High Priest is not directly related to the royal family, but instead is the third son of a noble family in Kian that he has thus far renounced all ties too.
General Louis de Kian
A lord of Kian in his own right, Louis de Kian is the thirty five year old charismatic general of the Royal Army. While he has no aspirations for higher power, he is seen by many as the third most powerful man in Illusia. With his control over the army, the love of the people, and the flamboyant personality combined with cunning strategic mind he would be the perfect leader of a rebellion. But of course he is devoutly loyal to the crown and is said to have the promised hand of one of the daughters of the royal line.
Louis has golden hair and bright blue eyes. He is pretty normal height-wise and wields a rather wide blade giving it more weight and power.
Sarassa, Knight Commander
The daughter of some backwater noble, Sarassa hid her gender in knight training. Only after winning her own acclaim through action did she finally reveal it. At the time being already one of the greatest knights of the country they had no choice but to accept it. She is nothing less than an extraordinary swordsman, wielding a very thin longsword she uses quick movements and high levels of dexterity to outmaneuver and outfight her opponent. Many consider her one of the greatest knights to ever exist in Illusia. As the Knight Commander she commands a certain level of respect among the nobility of the realm and holds the loyalty of almost all the knights. A clever woman, she is tenacious, hard-working, and generally pretty likable. Currently she is considered the strongest warrior in Illusia.
An extremely tall and lithe lady, Sarassa has fashionably red hair with golden yellow eyes. She unlike many of the knights wears no armor upon her body as she finds it inhibits her movements.
Admiral Gerard
A squat man, Admiral Gerard is a man made small by his position. Since he has little to work with in terms of both funds and men he is very reliant on the Marines. There are rumors that he was picked from the marines as a Commodore, but his current disposition make many doubt that.
Admiral Gerard like his status is short, he has a thick mustache which was similar in color to his now disappeared hair. Dressed up in naval uniform he likes to reminisce of his supposed 'marine days'.
Lucius the Hunter
Lucius is a rough man, that being said he is the skinniest of the hunters. Wielding a large rifle upon his back he is known for his ability to outmaneuver his prey and take them down. He is a rather amicable man, always glad to have a good time. He lives in his mind a very comfortable life and is proud of it. Hes also a married man with a wife and two daughters who live in a large house in one of Mallia's richer districts.
Lucius wears clothing that is comfortable. Wearing cotton clothing usually, upon hunts he dons heavier furs to keep him warm on the tundra. In his skinniness he looks much different with and without the furs as he seems to a lose a lot of size. Lucius is mostly clean-shaven with some stubble at the bottom of his chin. He always keeps his large rifle on his back.
The Hermit of Delli
An oldish man, the hermit's name has been lost to all even the hermit himself who simply refers to himself as 'The Hermit'. A wise man who enjoys speaking in riddles there are many that come to him for advice and due to his rather cryptic answers. Many have interpreted what he has said and seen it come true. Though he is happy that he has come to such prominence as a figure he doesn't feel he has truly earned it.
The hermit looks to be in his eighties though is in fact only 72. He sports along wispy white beard and wears a simple tan cloth robe. He is generally unadorned, he is a willing bald, having to actually constantly shave his head and face to keep his brunette hair from popping up everywhere.
The Four Other Generals
Each of the other four generals is a man of power. Unlike Louis who is quite young for his rank, the generals are old. Most in their fifties or higher they tend to prefer to sit in their headquarters and plan the movement of soldiers rather than be up at the front with their men. To quickly go over the four, the first is Delior controlling the northernmost army his Headquarters is just west of Mallia village. He is the thinnest of the bunch and the colors of his army are green and yellow. The second is Jiahn, with controller of the western lands south of Kian his headquarters is in Lias. Jiahn's colors are blue and red. The third is Maxis, oldest of the bunch Maxis is actually set-up outside of B-4. He really had no where else to go, thus he is there. His colors and blue and white, his armies are closest to the marines. The last is Elija who controls the army at Kian. He is the tallest of the bunch and his colors and black and purple.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:Illias
The Capital of Illusia Kingdom, Illias is easily the most populous city in all of Illusia. With two rings of walls dividing the city into sections, the city truly has people from all walks of life. The walls differentiate, the farmers and lowest classes who live outside of the walls from the merchants and craftsman living in the outer ring and even more so from the nobles who live in the inner ring. Apart from all of that is the main palace, set in the veritable center of the city. A massive structure which houses the current king Thalassa Lucas and much of his family. In many ways Illias seems to be stuck in the past, the architecture is dated, and apart from the nobles of the inner ring there is an aging to the building that can at times make one question the stability of those buildings.
Kian
The second largest city in Illusia Kingdom Kian is the major western city of Illusia. Kian is also the religious capital of Illusia famous for the grand church set in the center of the city. Kian is led by the religious leader, High Priest Elias who is by all means the second most powerful man in Illusia. Kian is also the winter home of the Illusian Army as it scours the mountain areas to the north of its pagan inhabitants. Outside of the inner ring which contains the grand church and a few noble estates is the vast majority of housing in Kian. Majorly merchants and farmers who sell their goods to the army when they make their headquarters in Kian. Buildings are generally made of wood but are fairly sturdy and made to stay warm and together in the face of the winter storms. Closer to the city walls there are lots of inns and restaurants where one can find such delicacies as honey-preserved peaches.

Barbada Town
Barbada Town is set in the far south of Illusia Kingdom. Unlike the rest of the cities/towns/and villages in Illusia Kingdom Barbada Town is much more current as a hub for the rest of the world to enter Illusia and not be overwhelmed by the differences. Truly a melting-pot of cultures Barbada Town is stocked with its fair share of merchants, pirates, and all sorts of folk. Buildings are wooden and a little creaky and house some number of shops with all sorts of materials for long ocean-bound voyages. Barbada Town and its surrounding villages are well known for housing pirates who land in the port and along the Dark Coast. The town is laid out on two sides of a river with roads running along and in perpendicular to the river with multiple bridges going over it. As one heads from the coast inward the buildings become more and more backward as one would expect.
Along one of the main roads leading up to the dock there is a long section of buildings which seem newly refurbished. They are the product of a fight between 'Typhoon Swell' Jack Dancer and 'Firefly' Syphalia Minalion. A lot of the residents claim that Barbada Town was the starting place of the infamous Dancing Blade Pirates.
Mallia Town
Just south of the Paeleon Northern Tundra, Mallia Town is the major staging ground for groups heading into that area. It is a hardy farming town growing strong grains that can survive the harsh winters that Mallia experiences. It is also well known for its ice sledding race which is a yearly race during the winter time where sledders push themselves from one side of town to the other mainly using the river. It is a town of stone buildings stuff here has been built to last and the residents are like it. Men here tends to be large by proportion. They are well built as are the women. There is a company of hunters here, each of whom are of massive proportion and often go out to hunt big game on the tundra.
The town is set in three major sections, the largest section is residential and is set in the southwestern portion of the town. The smallest section is a mercantile district in the southeastern portion of the town. The final northern section is a combination of markets and a plethora of other sorts of shops that are useful to people in the area. The hunter's guild is also up here. Three bridges cross the two rivers that pass through this town.
Aria Town
A major port town of Illusia Kingdom, Aria Town is a stopping point for goods heading upriver towards the capital. For a town of its size Aria has a rather small population. It is in many ways a town whose lifeblood is its connection to the sea. The major industry of Aria Town is in ship production. It is home to Illusia Kingdom's small navy. The majority of the town is either warehouses or drydocks along the shore. The buildings are made of wood generally though some of the older buildings are built with stone. The other industry of Aria is fishing a job that the majority of those that live on the outskirts of the city partake in.
The town is set up with docks and drydocks all along the riverside and shoreline. The second layer is generally a bunch of merchant guild buildings and warehouses. After that is a smattering of residential and commercial buildings which fill out the rest of town. On the other side of the river a combined Illusian Naval Base and Marine Outpost fill out this smaller part of town.
Lias Village
One of the larger villages in Illusia, Lias village is well known for its stables. Said to produce the greatest stallions in all of Illusia, it is the personal breeding ground for the horses upon which the knights of Illusia ride. Those who do not work in the stables tend to other commercial businesses or are simpler farmers and fishers. Set just south of the Steeple Steppes and north of the Dune Deserts and separated from any of the major river lines, Lias village can feel very isolated. Without a major port there are no truly fast ways to leave Lias, instead one must take long winding roads that connect Lias to Illias and Kian. The central building of Lias is a great stone hall, within which the village chief resides. Acting like a mayor he conducts business with strangers to the village and is the representative of their stakes when Illusian nobles come through.
Unlike the towns and cities of Illusia Lias Village has no real organization to its buildings. Set in haphazardly made streets the houses, hovels, and stables can seem randomly placed around. A distinctive combination of stone, clay, and wooden buildings, Lias Village can be a confusing place to be in.
Paeli Village
A small set of hovels form Paelli Village which is a village only in name. It has long since been emptied of residents and only occasionally plays host to lost men or hunters who are passing through the Paeleon Northern Tundra. The reason for its deserted nature is lost to the knowledge of the Illusian Kingdom.
Delli Village
The final village of note in Illusia, Delli village is the home to a wise hermit and a few of his followers. This village of five hovels surrounding a greater circular home is set along a river which provides food for its residents. The wise hermit of Illusia is well known across the country for always having an answer to your question. A usually vague answer he has never been known to be wrong in his advice. Though cryptic at times, no visit to Illusia is quite complete without visiting him.

Places of Note:Paeleon Northern Tundra
A vast expanse of open tundra, the Paeleon Northern Tundra is set on the Northern edge of Illusia Kingdom. Stretching from the mountains to the open oceans it provides a nearly impenetrable barrier in the north for all but the most hardy and well trained men. While it might seem like the resources in the tundra are scarce a majority of the most prized game of Illusia live in this area. Large furry beasts well known for their meat and their furs they are prized around the world. It is an extremely dangerous and lucrative business to hunt here.
Kian Bluffs
Large and imposing the Kian Bluffs cover a large portion of the northwestern shoreline. Large gray and rugged, the bluffs overlook the rocky beaches. Nearly vertical the whole way down the Kian Bluffs can seem nearly impossible to climb save for a few footpaths which wind their way up the bluffs. These footpaths are few and far between and are not something to be expecting to be there. Living in the bluffs are large sea birds who use cracks and crevices in the great sea walls to protect themselves from the wind.
Drietich Mountains
(Dree-ah-tik) The sole mountain range on the island of Illusia, the Drietich Mountains stretch from the northwestern corner of Illusia down into central Illusia. Immensely tall and large the mountains are criss-crossed by many footpaths that rise up and down through valleys and over mountains. The home of bandits as well as other manner of creature, the Drietich Mountains are an inhospitable environment for all. Its tall mountains are often covered in snow, these mountains feed into the many rivers that pass through Illusia. In one of the northernmost mountains there is an especially large cage within which it is said monsters lie.
Steeple Steppes
A vast stretch of steppe plains, the Steeple Steppes are long stretches of rolling hills. Covered in a thick layer of grass with few signs of much other sign of vegetation the steppes can feel like a barren place. With few small creeks and lakes forming oases upon this expanse of land the Steppes are in their own way a difficult thing to cross. With the temperature in a single day rising far above and below average it can be a harsh landscape. One major road passes through it bouncing from village to village, oases to oases to help travelers traverse this landscape. Commonly seen on the steppes are a large variety of wild horses, traveling in magnificent herds, they are the wild cousins of the horses from Lias Village.
West Dune Desert
Virtually untouched by human settlement due to it being on its own offshoot island, the West Dune Desert is a giant bowl of sand dunes. All of them running in circles into a central point in the Desert. If followed to the center one will find a large plateau sticking out of the desert. This plateau is home to a small colony of sand-people(humans). They are excellent glass makers.
East Dune Desert
Unlike the West Dune Desert there is no rhyme or reason to the East Dune Desert. It is simply a large expanse of desert, sand dunes everywhere. On the other side of the desert there are some small pirate colonies who are using the basically impassable desert as protection from those who might try to hunt them.
Dark Coast
The Dark Coast is a long line of coastline, in southern Illusia. All along the coast large coniferous forests grow right up to the beachline. Paths through the forests are long and windy as they lead to the nearest river and the main road which runs alongside it. Bandits are known to have hideouts in the Dark Coast. Rain is a consistent feature here and it can make these forests feel rather damp thus giving it its dark feeling.
Missions:A Piece of Glass
Obtain a glass object from the glass-makers in the West Dune Desert.
A Monster in the Mountains
The monster in the mountain has stolen a noble's daughter. You have been chosen brave the Drietich mountains, their Snow Gorillas and bandits to find the monster's hideout and steal back the damsel.
Hunting for Furs
A man is trying to enter the Paeleon Hunters Crew. To do so he must bring back the furs of three giant snow weasels. Trying to (heh)weasel his way out he has asked you to do it for him. So get to it!
A Pirate Problem
The Illusian Navy has been unable to uproot the pirate colonies on the other side of the East Dune Desert. So they have asked you and your crew to do it for them. Will you answer the call and defeat the pirates, or will the challenge be too much for you.
Island History:800 Years Ago
Illusia becomes a founding member of the World Government. It's king is made one of the World Nobles and leaves to live in Mariejois leaving the regent family the Lucas family to become the kings of Illusia. And for a time there was peace in Illusia.
A rebellion spurs itself in the city of Melusia set on the northwest coast of Illusia. In the coming years the country is split in two, with the Lucas family being in power in Illias and the rebels being holding out in Melusia and controlling lands as far south as Lias Village. The war lasts nearly eighty years until finally one of the nobles of Illias gathers together other nobles and they form the beginnings of the Knights of Illusia. Originally not a mounted force they spearheaded an assault into Lias village and then upwards along the coast. In a bloody war, and spearheaded by the newly formed Knights, the Lucas family and their forces recapture all their land and then Melusia. Proceeding to burn the town to the ground only its ruins remain on the Kian Bluffs.
