It was a sunny day, and the ocean glowed pure cerulean blue. The breeze was gentle and even throughout this vast ocean. For miles in any direction was simple calm waters with small, rolling waves on top of them. The only except was the small peak of the only rock formation tall enough for breach the water. On it sat Blue Shiomaru, resting from a long swim and enjoying the sights.
“3...2...1.”The blue sharkman pointed, and the music began. A hefty beige crab beat the top of it’s thick shell. It was too thick to be hurt, rather it made the rhythmic beating sound similar to a drum. The crab had neighbors in the water just the left of it. It was a duo of small red squid with yellow streaking stripes. They each lifted four of their limbs out of the water, and starting strumming on them with the remaining two--making the sound of a ukulele. Meanwhile, a three feet long seahorse and its one thousand children formed a chorus. They could only squeal and squeak, but they did it on key and in perfect timing with each other. All the while three shimmering starfish danced behind that crab. Two of them were break-dancing, the center hula-danced, then they flipped over each other and switched styles every few minutes.
“Wow, this must be super rare!”It was the first time Shiomaru had seen something like this, and he was utterly distracted. Unbeknownst to the sharkman, these different species shared a mutual relationship. They traveled together, and played a semi-hypnotic song to dissuade predators from attacking them. The blue shark had no plans to eat them either way, and was happy to just enjoy the music. For now his full attention was on this, but in the back of his head he planned which island he’d journey to next. He clapped to the rhythm, yet was gentle enough to not break the compass in his hands.
