◊- Name of Island: Pirate Market
◊- Society: The population consists of pirates, merchants, and businessmen.
◊- Size of Island: A medium sized island.
◊- Location: Located in south blue adjacent to the Clam Belt and near Reverse mountain.
◊- Log Pose Time: -
◊- Climatic Type: Fall Island Climate
◊- Climate: A fog hangs around the island almost nonstop. There is occasional rain, a few thunderstorms and rare sunshine. Typically, it is just a foggy day in the mid 50s for temperature.
◊- Island Appearance: Due to the fog that surrounds the island, one typically does not see the island until they get close enough. However, the waters surrounding it are deep and lack rocks so it tends to be safe to approach the island despite the fog. The island itself is slightly diamond shaped with it's points facing like a compass. Massive patchwork docks have been fitted around each of the four points. Looking over each dockyard is a set of massive towers built to look over the fog and are equipped with long range cannons to ward off marines.
Once upon the island, there are stalls, and buildings ramshakled and placed randomly about as a result of various merchants selling their wears. Some are abandoned and some are not. Pirates and merchants fight over locations for selling so many structures have bullet holes ajd slash marks built in. The further towards the interior one travels the less signs of fighting and the buildings looks slightly better. The center of the island is dominated by a forest.
◊- Flora and Fauna:Pirate Market doesn't have much in terms of life. Pirates have hunted to extinction most everything except for the lively forest in the center of the island. Outside the forest one will only find moss, lichen, and fungi growing on the rocks embedded with the tough crab grass that dominates most of the island. Common rodents and birds are all one can find around the exterior of the island.
The forest found in the interior of the island is a different story. It is a forest made of a rare tree which exudes mist and fog. It cannot catch fire due to the wet nature of the trees. Rare herbs and fungi can be located in the forest as well as some particularly special flowers that thrive in such moist conditions. Poisonous frogs, lizards and insects dominate the forest and they are content to stay in the forest and do not migrate out of it. Occasional birds migrate to this forest, but no one has ever seen a bird leave the forest.
◊- Inhabitants:Pirates. That would be the simple way to explain the residents found here on this island but they have become a bit more then that. This is a place pirates come to do business. Where trading has no limitations and everything is for sale. As such, the pirates who have setup shop on this island are businessmen as well as pirates. Some have made a living here, settled down, and given up on their adventures to seek fortune and even raise families here. The one thing everyone on the island has in common is they are pirates or descendants of pirates. This has led to an interesting life style and a very diverse population.
◊- Prominent Organizations, Groups and Establishments:
The Blackmarket Council
The ruling body found on Pirate Market is not a king or queen but an ever changing collection of captains, businessmen, and descendants that make up an organization known as the Blackmarket Council. They determine a lot of policies that are enforced to keep the island alive and flourishing for the future. They organize blackmarket trading not only on the Pirate Market but also around the world. Rumors are they know about every trade ever made in the shadows. The council is made into three main parts. The Captains, the businessmen, and the inheritors. The captains are simply Pirate captains wishing to influence how things work. They spend most of their time arguing and fighting over which trade goods sell for more. The businessmen are the real power. They convene to drive up prices on stuff and make huge profits by manipulating the Market in subtle ways. The inheritors are just two families descendant from Mad Morgan and Vladimir, the original pirates that discovered and brought to life Pirate Market. It is unknown what they do, but most seem to respect or fear them.
It is important to note that the Blackmarket council has operations all over the world. They provide weapons to revolutionaries, slaves to those seeking, drugs to addicts and regular goods as well. Bribery, betrayal, and backstabing are regular parts of being in the Council so interact with them are your own peril.
◊- Trends:Fashion
Pirate motif is the wear most seen. So outfits tend to vary by alarming amounts depending on the pirate crews present. However, suits is a close second as businessmen make up a large portion of the island's inhabitants. They often have a mobster look about them and fedoras are the tend for hats after pirate hats. Women tend to wear...little and show off their body more to seduce then most islands. This is assuming they are looking to make a profit as prostitution is a wealthy market on this island. There are of course some women in business suits but they are rare as the male dominated population makes it difficult for them to succeed.
Politics
The blackmarket council doesn't rule persay, as much as guide. There are no conventional laws on the island nor police as one does not govern pirates. However, they do regulate trades and influence who buys what and when. It is a fool that crosses the council as they will quickly find themselves bankrupt. There is a protection racket that goes on in the island where mobster like thugs continue to intimidate weaker pirates out of their earnings but as to a real force to hold order there is none.
What does take the form of order is business. When first entering the island from any of the four ports one will notice a game of aggressive expansion happening around them. Stores near the dock tend to have signs of damage from bullets, swords, and fire. This is because merchants fight over position here. Stalls and stores near the docks tend to get higher sales so people often fight for position but only before customers show up. It is rare to see the merchants openly fighting because it's bad for business (after all, what's it say about your wears if you need to kill the competition to sell?).
This has created an atmosphere of Darwinistic tendencies. The strong tend to prosper and make profits while the weak do not. This tend continues on into the interior of the island bug strength moves away from the physical and into the realm of scheming. The inner sanctums of the island are more classy (for pirates that is) and tend to control the outer markets find near the docks. This is were a mass of corruption can be found and the real power located. There are more businessmen in the interior ajd they pay a lot for "protection" and charge other for their own protection.
Industry
The industry of this market is trade. Specifically ban and embargoed goods that the world government doesn't want others to have but there are trades of all types. Everything from Apples to Zebras can be obtained if you have enough money to afford it. The entire point of the Pirate Market is that anything can be found and sold if you have enough money.
Cuisine
Food varies widely on Pirate Market. There is food of every verity imaginable if you pay enough money. You can even find recipes using endangered animals and food that is borderline poisonous but leaves you feeling like a million dollars. Some of the rarest dishes in the world can be found on pirate market but buyer beware, it might not agree with you after you eat it.
◊- NPCS:
Maxwell
The first born son of Mad Morgan and holder of his estate. Money, sure and simple he cares only for money and has inherited a large amount of it from his father. Corrupt and arrogant, he isn't very popular on the island but people don't mess with him for their own reasons (at least openly). A businessman through and through he doesn't have much in the ways of fighting but he has enough money to hire just about anything or anyone to guard him if need be...which it normally is needed.
Abercrom Delta
Often revered to a Delta Knife, he is an assassin for hire and is currently in employ of Maxwell as his personal bodyguard. Delta is a skilled combatant that uses stealth and knifes to kill his opponents. He isn't one to say much and when he does it is normally a single word. He is pure and simple a person for hire and the highest bidder can easily get him to turn...of course this would require an astounding amount as his current employer is filthy rich.
Jessica
The daughter of Vladimir and inheritor of a large amount of wealth. She takes business very seriously and isn't one to be crossed. Some say she runs Pirate Market, in as much anyone can, and it is always in ones own interest to stay on her good side...or at least off her radar. She doesn't get along well with Maxwell but she never moves against him either. She is skill in combat but those who have found out did not live to tell the tale. Some think she has a devil fruit power, other think she has some secret combat style passed on by her father. Whatever the case she is not to be underestimated.
The Jack
A mysterious figure that has knowledge of every skill in the world. There isn't anything he can't do. He wears a black mask at all times and can be hired but for some reason he never leaves the island. His identity is unknown and as he has knowledge of every fighting style known to man, no one has been able to force him to reveal his identity.
◊- Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
There is no towns or cities as much as there is a huge island wide bazaar. The island is broken into four sections, north, east, south and west docks. These are the entry points for pirates to come in at. There is nothing special between the docks as each one is an amalgamation of various vendors and storefronts. Buildings come and go as merchants fight for better positioning so hydrogen hard to get a fix on any one location. The only two buildings that have withstood the test of time are the family buildings of the two founders of pirate market, the Morgan Mansion and the Vladimir Veranda.

◊- Missions: TBA
◊- Island History: Long ago, a pirate known as Mad Morgan reached this lonely little isle shortly before he left to go onto the Grand Line. Morgan and his crew docked on the island for a bit for vacation, since it was unlikely marines even knew of this place. Morgan and his crew stayed for a few days, until another crew, the crew of Vladimir and his pirates, landed. The two crews, however, did not engage in war or fight. They hit it off as friends, and the crews began to trade amongst themselves. Soon, other pirates reached the isle, and finally, Vlad and Morgan, high up on a platform, announced to the very world that this island would be a place where pirates could trade any or everything without fear from the marines.Soon after the declaration, the two crews decided to stay and run the affairs. The pirate trade on this island flourished, but eventually, the marines found out. They sent a galleon, packing near to the brim with marine soldiers to take the island and arrest all the pirates. What they didn't expect, Vlad and Morgan, plus all of the vendors and buyers on the island, banded together and successfully repelled the marine army, and they were sent away with the message, "MARINE MEN ARE NOT WELCOME ON OUR ISLAND!"The island had suffered a great number of casualities as a result as well. But, under the guidance of Mad Morgan, they managed to get their fiscal dealings back up within a few months, with Vlad hiring a special force to protect the island in case marines ever tried another seizure. They made a lot of money during this time, and shortly before they died, it was said they buried their riches somewhere in the small forest that is at the edge of the island. However, along with the treasure, they also set many traps and the poisonous animals are pretty adept at keeping humans out.
As time progressed the island has evolved. The populace has grown and people have even started living on the island. Trade is still the blood of the island but how the business found here has expanded over the entire world. This came about during the beginning of the pirate era as the population, trade and finances of the island exploded. With so many new pirates abound it was no wonder the island flourished.
The island was able to purchase embattlements and protections. They have bribed officials and political officials, and have even managed to keep the marines away from the island. This island has officially become the center of blackmarket trading and it is here that everything can be found and sold.
The island is run by an organization called the Blackmarket Council and the descendants of the two original founders Morgan and Vladimir. Their progeny has kept the island strong. Morgan's son Morgan the 2nd has an excellent head for business, blackmail, and coercion while Vladimir's daughter Jessica is perfect at running logistics, earning reputation and enforcing her will.
