Climate: The island is a hot summer island. The island is also extremely humid due to the amount of rock pools dotted around the island.
Island Appearance:
The island is lush with a variety of different plant life. The plants seem to be set into rings around the island until it gets to the centre where only a single plant resides. The trees around the island seem to be tallest when close to the centre of the island and slowly get smaller as they move away towards the edge of the island. A mountain range protects the island from most sides, making it difficult to approach. The only side where the are no mountains is a small portion of the south side of the island. This gap is large enough to allow to allow three ships to dock. A fourth could fit, but damages would be seen when leaving the island. When looked at from a distance, all anyone would see is a large wall of mountain and nothing else. The entrance is not easily found and only a small handful of ships have found the entrance the first time they arrived, likely overlooking the gap in mountains. Small rock pools are dotted around the island. Each rock pool is roughly about ten metres large in the area. The size and shape does change for every rock pool. These rock pools are filled due to small channels beneath them to the sea.
Flora and Fauna:
Flora:
The island is completely covered in plants of various types, the most common of which are different forms of trees. As the woods begin to move towards the mountains that surround the island, the woods are heavily dominated by Holly and Oak trees. When the woods begin to move closer and closer to the centre of the island, the woods become more dominated by Ash and Birch trees and become taller. At the centre of the island, there is a circle in which no tree stands. The circle is 1km in diameter and is considered Holy Ground where no fighting should take place. In the centre in is a large closed flower, looking much like an extremely large closed white rose. Once every year, the flower opens becoming almost flat, bearing it's nectar. The nectar is extremely sweet and is used on special occasions. The flower is called The Kamihana by the locals.
On the ground, the grass tends to be rather short, kept in check by the grazing of the animals. Close to the outer edge of the woods, Ivy tends to dominate over all other different types of plant. They tend to starve other, smaller plants of light, killing them off. It goes as far as almost completely covering trees on the outer edges of the woodland. The heavy amounts of ivy have formed an outer ring on the island, where everything is dominated by it.
As the Oak/Holly trees and the Ash/Birch trees begin to intermingle with one another, the plants on the ground change, creating a second form of ring around the island. This ring is covered in different froms of berries and fruit from shrubs and bushes. While it certainly dominates this ring, it doesn't nearly dominate it as much as the Ivy, as the bushes that contains the berries and fruit still allow other flowering plants to grow.
Between the middle ring and the centre, below the trees, only different forms of grass and flowering plants reside. Out of the flowering plants, a lavender type plant is the most common. The locals of the island tend to use this plant as decorations, due to it's appealing colour.Fauna:
The island is crawling with small critters around the island, usually keeping closer to the centre of the island. Such animals include squirrels and rabbits running about. In the outer ring of the island, the part completely covered in ivy, very little animals live there and most people give the area a wide berth.
One of the most noticeable animals that are around the island are the special type of bird that are unique to the island. They are extremely small birds that could fit on the palm of the average human hand when lying down. The bird is light blue in colour, with it's breast and stomach being a violet colour. The bird usually lives around the Kamihana and feed off of the nectar it gives out. Due to it's size, the bird can drink from the Kamihana even when the flower is closed. While small, the bird is potentially one of the more dangerous animals on the island. While individually it is easy to overcome, these birds usually stay together in large groups. If approached (unless while the Kamihana is open), the birds will emit an extremely high pitched and loud shriek. The shriek can usually be heard all over the island, though it not heard very often. If exposed to the shriek for too long and close proximity, a person could quite quickly go deaf. A shriek will alert the rest of the birds that one of their own is in danger and fly straight to it. The birds, when all together, will all begin to attack the person that got to close to them, slowly biting into them. Due to the fact that these birds all stay in the centre of the island, around the Kamihana, and their natural defence, the natives nickname them the Kamihana's Protectors; also known as Kamihimei.
Another notable unique creature to the island are crab-like creatures. These crab creatures stay close to the rock pools dotted around the island, but are most common to the east where the largest rock pool resides. This rock pool pushes through the ivy and forces it to stop in it's tracks. The crab creatures are much larger than average crabs, ranging from being one metre up to five metres wide (while keeping in normal proportions), the average size being two metres wide. The crabs are a brown colour, blending into the rocks. While being able to blend into rocks, the carapace of the crabs are infact as hard as the rocks which are dotted around each pool, causing most swords to break when being struck by them. The crab creatures all have pincers. The sharpness of the pincers in what makes them unique. Each pincer is sharp enough to cut through the rocks in the pools and other crab's carapaces. The crabs of the largest rock pool live in harmony with one of the tribes and halve pledged to protect them. The crabs of the island share their name with the largest rock pool; Shihoridi.
A third unique animal seem to keep away from all other animals. Whether this is by choice or not is unclear, but these boar like creatures roam the outer ring of the island, staying within the ivy. The boars seem to have some form of immunity to the toxins excreted by the ivy plants and the poisons of their berries. The boars wander around the outer ring, grazing and eating the ivy and it's berries. The boars, most likely because of their eating habits, are all rather small. The largest that has been noted was roughly three feet long, while the smallest was only two feet long. Though, due to their incredibly small size, the boars are much greater at manoeuvring through the island and are prone to sudden bursts of incredible speed. The boars are usually idyllic, but when scared will run at their top speed. At this top speed, it is impossible for a normal human to see them. While this would usually be enough to escape predators, the boars also have small venom sacks at the base of their tusks. When their tusks penetrate anything, it will release a small amount of venom. This venom is not deadly and, to a human, will only knock them out for a few hours. This strange trait earned them their name; Dokukiba.
Inhabitants:
The Scream Tribe
The Scream Tribe are the most prominent tribe of the island, residing in most of the easern side of the island. Out of the few visits this island has had, the visitors will have most likely seen the people of the Scream Tribe and unlikely any other humans. The humans of the scream tribe all seem to be ordinary but their differences lie on the inside, rather than the outside. All of the people of the Scream Tribe have an extremely large lung capacity and high pitched voices. While their voices are already at irritating level, it is when a member screams that shows hw the tribe got it's name. Seemingly, much like the Kamihana Protectors, the people of the scream tribe can scream at an extremely high pitch. While this is true, the pitch is nowhere near as high as those of the bird and are not as loud. The most damage a tribeman can do with this scream is possibly disorient others who hear it. The Scream Tribe lives in their area of residence, Takagi, in the west of the island, where they live in treehouses. The tribesmen spend most of their day on the ground, foraging/hunting for food, eating and socialising, only going into their houses to sleep. The tribesmen seem to rank themselves on how high pitched their scream is, the leader of the tribe being the one with the highest pitched scream.
The Flex Tribe
The Flex Tribe are the most recluse group, staying within their area of residence, Shihoridi, in the east. The flex tribe are perhaps the most strange in terms of physical qualities. All of the tribesmen walk on both their hands and feet, their belly arching into the air, walking like a crab. This is the way they constantly walk, and tribesmen seem to find it strange when they see others walking normally, believing them to be upside-down. While all of the tribesmen do walk like this, due to the sheer size of them, they are still able to keep eye-level with all others who walk normally. The people of the flex tribe are very social, liking to talk to each other for long periods of time. Though this is true, the people tend to be rather drowsy and are likely to fall asleep half way through a conversation, picking up where they left off when they awaken. The tribesmen seem to rank themselves on how sharp they can make their arch, the leader of the tribe being the one who most resembles an upside-down V. This tribe lives in harmony with the giant crabs that also reside in their area, the Shihoridi.
The Poison Tribe
The people of the Poison Tribe have been seen on numerous occasions but have rarely been contacted. The reason for this is their area of residence, the outer ring of poison ivy. Physically, the tribesmen look fairly normal apart from one key feature: Tusks. All of the tribesmen seem to have small tusks that poke out of the sides of their mouths. These tend to appear at around the age of seven. Before that, the children on the tribe look like average, run-of-the-mill humans. Another thing that the people of the tribe have in common is the fact that they are all continuously itchy. When walking about, the tribesmen are all likely to be scratching one place or another. This could be due to their place in the ivy, but it is unknown if it is or not. The tribe is persistent that the ivy infact helps their itching, rather than hinders it. The people of the tribe eat the berries from the ivy as their usual source of food. Noting this, it means that the people of the tribe has some form of resistance against poisons. The poison tribe takes residence in the north of the island in the outer ring in their area of residence, Tsukiba. The tribesmen seem to rank themselves on their resistance to scratch, the leader of the tribe being the person who can resist scratching for the longest. The tribe holds a gathering every year to see who can resist scratching for the longest. From this, the new leader is named.
Trends:
Fashion
While the three tribes have some common fashion senses, the tribes have some major differences.
In the scream tribe, the common fashion is to be wearing an amalgamation of rabbit and squirrel hide. This is adorned with lavender found on the island, most of the lavander being place around the neck and on the shoulders. The scream tribe also wears face paints, most commonly around the mouth and eyes. They most popular colours are a light blue around the eyes and a vibrant purple around the mouth.
In the flex tribe, the common fashion is to be wearing an amalgamation of rabbit and squirrel fur. This is usually worn plain but dyed to a brown colour to match the Shihoridi's carapace colour. While wearing footwear, the flex tribe is the only tribe on the island to also wear hand protection. This is fashioned from the carapace of the Shihoridi and is worn on the palms of the hand.
In the poison tribe, the common fashion is to be wearing a toga-like piece fashioned from the ivy that is abundant in their area of residence. This ivy toga is also intermingled with lavendar to fill in any of the gaps between the pieces of ivy. Most of the female members of the poison tribe also wear either lavander or ivy around their small tusks. This is more common on those who have not taken a life-partner as of yet.
Politics
Within each tribe, the leader has complete say over what happens and no-one may oppose their rule. Apart from the leader, those of higher standing within each tribe can command those of lower standing to do as they please. If dominance is in dispute, the people of the tribe attempt to show their rank (As shown within each tribes section). This is easiest with the flex tribe as they, more or less, wear their rank.
The tribes have had very little contact with the outside world and, as such, have very little opinion on what happens beyond of their mountain range.
Cuisine
Each tribe on the island has their own different type of food styles, but all of them have at least one food that they eat in common; the nectar of the Kamihana. When the Kamihana opens, the tribes move to the centre of the island and begin to collect it's nectar. As well as this being the only time the three tribes are seen together, a large celebration takes place around the plant to rejoice the new year for the tribes. The nectar is said to be of a sweet taste. The strange quality about the nectar though is that there has never been two people who said it tasted the same. This means that each person who tastes the nectar tastes it in a different way.
NPCS:
- "Kamihimei" Wanera Kiljua: Female. 37. Wanera is the current leader of the Scream Tribe. As such, this means that Wanera's scream is the highest pitched out of everyone in the entire tribe. Wanera is a kind-hearted woman who wishes for the best outcome for her people. If any outsiders arrive onto the island, Wanera attempts to find and talk to them. If they are deemed dangerous, the rumour is that Wanera screams, either killing or sending the people away. This rumour arrived due to very little people actually hearing her scream.
- "Dokukiba" Gessane Gift: Female. 26. Gessane is the current leader of the Poison Tribe. As such, this means that Gessane can go the longest without scratching. Gessane is a hardy woman and attempts to get the same quality out of the rest of her tribe. If she sees any member slacking off, she yells at them, forcing them back to work. It is rumoured that Gessane is the strongest person on the island, fitting her title of Dokukiba. Not only does her speed match the animals assosiated with her title, but it has also been said that she could fell a tree with a single blow.
- "Shihoridi" Uerthe Boja: Male. 54. Uerthe is the current leader of the Flex Tribe. As such, this means that Uerthe is the most flexible man of the tribe. Uerthe is a kind man, though can be extremely gullible at times. Uerthe will often lie down on his friend, the shihoridi Iwe, as he travels through the tribe's residence and the island. The reason for moving about on his friend is because Uerthe, like most other members of the tribe, falls asleep during inconvenient times. Being older, Uerthe is likely to fall asleep more often. The current rumour around Uerthe is the degree of his flexibilty. It is said that he is so flexible that, on any ordinary day, he can make his back parallel to his legs. With the proper exercise, it is said that Uerthe can loop around his body at least once.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities:
- Takagi
Takagi is the area of residence for those of the scream tribe in the west side of the island. The houses are built on the trees found in their area, making them similar to tree houses. Though this is true, the tribesmen rarely stay within their houses. Mats formed by weaving lavender together are placed down during the day. From these mats, different items become for sale. The items for sale depend on what the owner of the mat is accomplished in making. One mat may have lovely headdresses made from different plants, another may have functional clothing. Rather than have any monetary value for these items, the tribesmen barter with one another and trade, rather than simply buy.- Shihoridi
Shihoridi is the area of residence for those of the flex tribe in the eat of the island. The area's name is shared with the crab-like creatures whom the tribesmen live in harmony with and with the large rock pool which the people of the tribe live around. The houses of the tribesmen are within the abnormally large rocks that encompass the pool. These are dug out with the help of the crab-like creatures. One of the average sized rocks is large enough to be able to hold up to at least sixteen people comfortably. Being drowsy, the people spend much of their time in their homes, sleeping. Though this is true, just by walking past the area, you will still see a fair amount of people. A small amount of these people will also be sleeping while still standing. The area is famous on the island for it's creativity. All of the rocks are decorated to a high degree with plants and also paint fashioned from ink.- Tsukiba
Tsukiba is the area of residence for those of the poison tribe in the north side of the island. The houses here are fashioned from the hides of animals throughout the island and held up with study sticks carved from trees (Looking like a Native American Tipi). Everything, at first glance, within the city seems to be extremely practical, the only non-practical thing being the fashion. Everyone in the city seems to always be continuously working. Everything used in the city in shared as a whole, with very little completely personal items. Tribesmen tend to keep the head of the most impressive animal they have killed. This is mounted on the centre beam in their living space for all to see that walk in. Currently, the most impressive animal caught by a man is a Dokukiba's head.

Island History:
War. In the beginning, that's all there was. War raged across the island as several different tribes attempted a grab at complete dominance. Several tribes were completely demolished, some were just absorbed into other tribes to then once more be wiped out or absorbed. After this continued for decades, maybe even centuries, perhaps thousands of years, trees began to disappear from the middle of the island. This was originally ignored, but as more and more trees began to disappear, the natives of the island eventually took notice. The Kamihimeis eventually began to migrate to the centre of the island. These birds, which were seen as animals of God, flew to the growing circle of disappearing trees. At this point, the four tribes that were left decided on peace, knowing that something of heavenly descent was about to arrive on their island. And so, the natives waited. They continued to wait for decades before any sign of what was arriving appeared. Eventually, a child of one of the tribes spotted a small plant in the centre of the now-dubbed holy area. With this news, the four tribes tried to get close to the plant but were always driven back by the Kamihimei. Knowing that it must be holy, for why would the Kamihimei protect it otherwise, the natives all began to dub the newly growing plant the Kamihana.
For some amount of time, the island continued with the tribes living in complete peace. They had no contact with the outside world, believing their island to be the entirety of the world. Anything past the range of mountains was no concern of theirs. This is why, when the first outsider came to the island, they were completely in awe. The outsiders arrived at the only known entrance to the island in the south. This was the area of residence for the fourth remaining tribe. Not knowing anything about them, the members of the fourth tribe immediately tried to capture them, thinking them weak. They could not have been more wrong. The fourth tribe was completely decimated. Those who survived joined with the other tribes and eventually evolved to become like them. The group of men who had invaded their home continued towards the centre of the island. It was here that the three tribes made a quick decision; they would place the life of the Kamihana above their own. All three tribes joined together for a final assault against the outsiders. Here, the tribes won, killing the men and destroying the ship. It was here that all three tribes learned of their ultimate purpose; to protect the Kamihana.
