He was nervous. Not for himself. No, Haunter was used to facing his fears and rushing into battle. He had taken on numerous criminals and pirates in the past. He had made it out alive because he never feared death. The only thing he feared with this mission was losing a soldier. It was a tough task at hand and without the consent of the higher up marines, they didn’t possess all the facilities. Haunter would have to take a single marine vessel and make it out to be a training run for his recruits. Nobody would know it was a sanctioned mission because he was the one sanctioning it. The deaths of these marine’s will be on his hands and he knew it but this is what they had signed up for and this is what they had to do. The combat unit of the marines had lined up before him; in gear and ready for action. Haunter stood before with his head up. He stroked his goatee as his eye travelled from one side of the room to the other. “Alright soldiers. As you guys are aware, both the intelligence unit and infiltration unit have already made their way to the island. The intelligence unit is working in the shadows and corresponding with Harvey at the base. Harvey will be relaying the information to me and Rebecca. The infiltration unit will be undercover until the operation ends. If all goes to plan, we should be able to take the bandits down with a surprise attack. Remember, our objective is to take the battle to them. Don’t let them establish themselves. We need to provide a distraction long enough for the Intelligence Unit to locate the Bandit Leader and the Infiltration Unit to infiltrate the hide-out. We are to enter the island and attack from the front. It should be a direct attack upon anybody who is suspected to be linked with the bandits. Make arrests where needed. Interrogation methods will have to be used. Make sure no information about this gets out before the mission is over. Are we clear?” Haunter asked looking around the group fiercely. He looked at Rebecca, nodding his head before pointing to the large marine ship he had acquired for the mission. “Climb aboard; we’re heading for Shivre Mountain. With the ‘Avenger’, it won’t take us very long. A very fine vessel she is.” Haunter informed the crew, using his hand to caress its frame before leaping onto the ship. Haunter was very agile, lifting himself onto the deck in one jump, showing he still had it in him, despite his age. All the marine recruits followed his lead. Most were carrying their own weapons although some had opted for marine blades and guns. Argo the fool was having some trouble loading himself onto the ship. Almost forced Haunter into a face-palm. Luckily some of the other recruits helped the big man on. Clearly he lacked hugely in the agility department. Hopefully from what Haunter had heard, he would more than make up for all his shortcomings in the strength and endurance departments. [OOC: Have a round of posting on the ship as you plan yourselves. Miles and Alexandros can help Rebecca organise. I might post with Haunter from time to time but feel free to use him in your posts.] |
