The barren once beautiful Island of Ohara, once home to the greatest historians in the world, now all that was left was rubble. The land still charred and only a few plants had dared to start growing there again after the World Government's justice and wrath had been unleashed on the poor people of this scholarly Island. The small rickety boat at the beach of the island suggested that the island had a visitor, a lone soul had set foot on ohara after the 24 years of the place being seemingly abandoned by all. Yet, these footsteps were those of a mere child, A child no older than ten years old. Iria's long brown hair and light pink eyes scanned the ruins of what must have, at one time, been a magnificent library and city.

She frowned as it didn't look like anything could survive such a mess. What had she expected though? She heard that the place was practically leveled to the ground, and seeing it now she knew that was no exaggeration. "Well... Time to get to work!" She told herself determined and pumping herself up. She rolled up her sleeves and marched into the rubble with a look of purpose on her face and started to heave and pull at the heavy pieces of wood and stone to move them. A task that wasn't easy in the slightest for a little girl, but Iria also knew that if their was anything to be found, it would be under the wreckage. "Mm...Rrrrr!" She uttered as she pulled with all her might, only the fly backwards with a loud thud and an "oof!" when the stone block finally came loose. "That's one..." She panted wiping sweat from her brow as she lay on her back.

All alone, as he awaited the return of his only companion as it searched for a meal. The pigeon was his child-hood companion and the only thing that kept him company on a lonely night. Not that he required much company for neither he spoke, nor required the comfort of a human voice. He had never cared for much apart from serving justice. For Lucci, justice was whatever he was told to do by his commanding officers. Whatever task he was given, Lucci completed to perfection. Even if it meant taking the live of another living being, Lucci wouldn’t think twice about it. In fact, it was something he had become accustomed to and soon it became a means of entertainment for the assassin in training. He aspired to become the best he could be. Weakness was frowned upon within the academy for young recruits and thus it had become a crime in Lucci’s eyes. His sense of justice was flawed but he was not to blame, for the boy had been born with a heart but bore no soul. God had set loose a vessel on the earth that knew neither good nor evil. In the right hands, it could have been a messiah but having fallen in the hands of dark justice, it became a destructive force no-one thought could be beaten. Not until he encountered the man who carried the ‘Will of D’. The almighty, Rob Lucci had fallen that day; a legend, a god amongst the cipher pol. Lucci could not understand why. Nobody had ever been able to stand equal to him. Nobody could take half the amount of pain he had inflicted upon the Straw-Hat boy that day but something carried him on. It was his will… His will to save that woman… NICO ROBIN. Since the hunt had begun upon Lucci and the surviving Cipher Pol agents from the Buster Call at Eniess Lobby, Lucci had started his own hunt for the man whom he had called ‘Boss’; The man who had betrayed him. At first, the ex-CP9 agents had stood by their ‘Leader’… however; they soon grew tired of being on the run all the time. They felt Lucci was chasing a lost cause in his pursuit of Spandam. The man was a highly ranked individual amongst the World Governing body, with his father having carried that position before him. Having the ‘Buster Call’ at his disposal was a sign of this. Lucci however had more resolve than the rest of his compatriots. He no longer had a commanding officer to follow. He made his own rules now. The ‘licence to kill’ was no longer a requirement. He could do what he liked when he liked for it made no difference now. He was a wanted man now, just like those he once hunted down for a living. However, before Lucci could carry out this mission, he needed to conduct some research. He had to become familiar with what his final mission had been about. Why had it been so important that failure had resulted in exile? Why was the capturing of the blue-prints so important? What kind of ancient weapon did they plan to resurrect? Why did they have to undergo 5 years of cover to attain this piece of information? And above all, why was Nico Robin essential to all of this? She had not been part of the initial plan. It was not until the Straw-Hats had stumbled across the island did it become a plot to frame the crew. It was time to revisit the past to where it had started with Nico Robin. Lucci’s sense of justice made no sense any more and to see light, he would have to start again. Arriving on the island, the first thing Lucci noticed was the smell. Even though 24 years had passed since the Buster Call had been initiated upon Ohara, it still carried an odour of gunpowder and blood. It was the grounds of a massacre, unleashed at the hands of the World Government upon the criminals of Ohara; or those who had been labelled as criminals. There was little knowledge of what crime they had been punished for, other than trying to resurrect the ancient weapons by taking part in illegal activities in trying to find the information of its location. Lucci settled upon a distance hill, taking into account, the surroundings around him. The island was no longer inhabited by living beings, barring the few brave shrubs of plant that dared to hope. However, the sound of movement managed to garner the attention of the ‘Rokushiki Master'.

The brunette managed to push the large stone slab off of her person with great effort. She then rested a little before getting up and patting the dirt and dust off of her clothes. Such labor was not something Iria was used to. Her family had often had machines and factories to help her mover larger and heavier objects when she was making things. The thought was saddening, her life had changed so drastically in such a short time. Everything she knew was gone, like she was tossed carelessly into another world. She knew that wasn't the case though, just hundreds of years had passed. Somehow that didn't make the pink eyed girl feel better.

Iria stared at the rubble a few minutes as she thought. She knew knowing what happened wouldn't bring her parents back, but it would help her survive and maybe find something to remember them by. Thus with renewed strength and conviction the little inventor started to march into the rubble once more only to stop at the sound of something moving. It was subtle, almost not there at all, but she heard it. It made her stop cold and look around slowly in nervous fright. Her body shivered and she fumbled for her flashlight. Wasn't Ohara abandoned? The people she had spoke too before coming her had said as much. They told her the stories of a people obsessed with history that had broke the law and tried to revive an ancient weapon. About a people that were punished for this crime by being wiped out to the point that the island was unlivable, even cursed some had dared venture.

The young girl had started to question if coming here was worth the answers she sought. The dark night skies only making things scarier for the ten year old. "H-hello?" Iria said with a timid voice as she turned her flashlight on and tried to look around. "I-Is anyone there? Um... I-I don't mean you any harm... I'm Iria." She said shyly as she spoke more to try to steady her own nerves than expecting anyone to speak back. After all ghost don't talk, or do they? She wasn't sure, but she certainly didn't want to anger the ghosts of such a violent group of historians. On the other hand it was possible her mind was playing tricks on her, but one thing she was sure of was that Ohara was much scarier at night when you were alone.

Even from the distance, he could make it out, a young girl, playing amongst the dirt. ‘Could it possibly be?’ the thought crossed his mind, ‘Survivors from the Buster Call attack?’ Upon carefully considering he decided to go against it. In fact, he couldn’t believe such an illogical and unlikely thought could even cross his mind. It was obvious this girl had ended up here somehow, probably lost. Maybe even dumped here by somebody who wanted her to rot and die. Lucci knew of the cruel this world was capable and it wouldn’t surprise him if that was the case. Anyhow, it would require further investigation. Flitting along the island from stone to stone, leaping from tree to tree, the ex-cipher pol agent crept closer to the young girl, witnessing her every move. He could see the determination on her face to get through to the bottom of the rubble. What in the world was she doing? Was she trying to dig something up? Something from the past? Lucci observed from a distance before edging closer. Although he was as silent as the night, the girl had a sharp sense of hearing and just like that, she became aware of another presence; the presence of Rob Lucci. He could sense her become tense and frightening, realising the sky had become dark all of a sudden and she was all alone amidst it. Her breathing had become erratic as she tried to break the barrier of darkness around her, her heart beating hard against her chest. Lucci could sense it all. There was no use in hiding now. She already knew he was there but Lucci still held on for a moment longer, before he revealed himself, wanting to witness what the girl would do in such a situation. Would she call for help, ignore the sound and continue with what she was doing; or would she do what everyone else did … Run! "I-Is anyone there? Um... I-I don't mean you any harm... I'm Iria.” The girl spoke with a quiver in her voice. She was scared but brave. She called out to him, something Lucci had not expected. Lucci admired bravery and he would reward it by introducing himself. “Hello young lady…” Lucci spoke in a gentle and tender tone as not to alarm the girl but it was bound to do so anyway, considering she could not yet see him. He revealed himself to stand beneath the light of the moon in his human form. “… My name is Roberto. I came here to conduct some research. Looks like you have beaten me to it Miss Iria.” Lucci continued, trying to talk as normally as possible as not to scare the girl. It was also a means to get more information out of her. When one reveals something about themselves, the other seems to do like-wise, especially in young children Lucci had learnt.

“Hello young lady…” Came a cool calm voice from out of the darkness and Iria nearly jump, lost her flashlight and screamed all at the sametime... yet she managed to only jump a little, fumble with her flashlight and make the smallest mouse-like squeak. "EEK! O-Oh! I'm sorry you startled me." She said with a sigh with relief as she looked up at him with her large child-like pink eyes. “… My name is Roberto. I came here to conduct some research. Looks like you have beaten me to it Miss Iria.” He had told her and she looked extremely relieved. "You too? What a relief... I thought you might have been a ghost! This place sure gets scary at night, doesn't it Mr. Roberto?" Iria said in a trusting and relaxed manner. She somehow felt... safe around this man and she couldn't explain why, maybe something about him reminded her of her father? He did seem to have a feel of professionalism about him that her dad did.

"I heard the people of Ohara where really horrible... but I also heard they knew a whole bunch of things... like... about the past... I thought I could find out more about my parents here..." Iria said a bit bashfully, "But I can't even lift anything up... What about you Mr. Roberto? What are you researching? I know! We can help each other! I don't know if your interestedinthevoideraornot, but! Ifyouarewecanworktogetherandgetthingsdonesuperfast!" Iria said slowly and a bit timidly at first until she got excited and quickly started talking faster and faster until it was almost impossible to understand a single word she was saying. The long haired brunette in the light blue hoodie seemed to be almost bouncing up and down with excitement. Not only for the fact that he may have help, but also for the fact that she wasn't alone anymore now that 'Mr.Roberto' was here... to the point that she forgot that few could understand her when she was talking at the speed of soru.

Lucci blamed her naivety for being a child although he himself never experienced such a thing, having grown up; trained to be an assassin. The girl was weak in body and didn’t seem to possess anything of extraordinaire ability which is why Lucci was intrigued to find such a girl all alone, trying to dig up the past. What was she seeking? Had someone put her up to this? "You too? What a relief... I thought you might have been a ghost! This place sure gets scary at night, doesn't it Mr. Roberto?" A ghost? She was truly a child, not realising that humans were far scarier than any other being on this planet and he was one of the most dangerous people she could meet. However, he was no harm to this girl; no longer having to kill anybody in the name of the World Government. Trying to conduct some research was no crime but this girl, she was searching for something in particular. Although she spoke very fast, Lucci did pick up the word Void Era. “Did you say something about the void era little girl? Who’s been telling you stories about the Ohara people?” Lucci asked in a calm and probing manner. He didn't want to come out too forcefully. It was important for the girl to feel he was an ally and could be trusted. “Perhaps I can help you a little. What are you trying to find about your parent’s? They couldn’t have had anything to do with Ohara. It’s been 24 years since this island was blocked off from the rest of the world.” Lucci felt this girl would be easy to crack but was a little afraid with what he might come to know from this girl. He didn’t want to believe this girl could be a threat to the world like Nico Robin but something was giving him that very feeling. Perhaps this girl knew too much for her own good. There was definitely something strange about her. She was completely out of place. He still couldn’t understand what she was doing here, all alone; at this time of night.

“Did you say something about the void era little girl? Who’s been telling you stories about the Ohara people?”“Perhaps I can help you a little. What are you trying to find about your parent’s? They couldn’t have had anything to do with Ohara. It’s been 24 years since this island was blocked off from the rest of the world.”

Iria gave a firm nod. "I'm sorry, I tend to talk a bit fast when I'm excited." She apologized and explained. "Well you see Mr. Roberto... It's actually a really long story, but part of what brought me here was my trying to find information on the Void era, but every time I mention it people would yell at me and get scared. They said "the demons of Ohara" were the only ones that knew anything about the Void era and that they tried to revive a weapon to destroy the world." The brunette explained seriously to his question. "They also said the World Government put a stop to them and destroyed the island, Which if they were really trying to hurt people is a good thing." The naive child stated adding in her opinion of the matter.

The young girl looked down cast as she thought about her parents. "My parents... your right, they didn't know the people here... but while the people here where researching the void era... they might have run across something about them... You see... until a few weeks ago... I was petrified in stone... A man with a big sword that looks like a scary vampire helped me figure out that I've been that way for over 900 years, which people call the Void era now." The ten year old explained. "I don't care about any weapons or anything... I... I just want to know what happened to them, I know their dead but..." Iria said softly trying to keep from crying, there was no sense in doing so and it wouldn't solve anything. "He said I shouldn't tell anyone, the Vampire Swordsmen man that is... But your here researching too, so... I think, I can trust you." She concluded with a forced smile. "I mean it's hard to think that someone with such a pretty birdy is a bad person." She pointed out with a more natural smile as she referred to Lucci's pigeon companion. Always seeing a love for animals as a sign of someones good nature as well as being very fond of animals herself, Iria naturally too this to mean that Lucci was good natured because he kept and animal as a companion.

His memory had its own storage unit and taking down notes was easy as long as he could understand what was being said. Now that the girl wasn’t on fast forward, it was much easier to make sense of what she was saying. Lucci didn’t interrupt the girl as she spoke. Just nodded to show her he was actively listening and maintained eye contact. What she knew was the simple cover-up story along with the rumour of resurrecting the weapon that can destroy the world. What intrigued Lucci was the Void Era. She brought it up again. What did she know about the Void Era and why was she so keen on digging up this information that she’s out at this time on such an island. "My parents... your right, they didn't know the people here... but while the people here where researching the void era... they might have run across something about them... Was this girl living in a fantasy world? Scary Vampire? 900 Years? Could it possibly be this girl was from the Void Era? No, it wasn’t possible… was it? Lucci’s expression had now changed. He was a little confused. Could he actually believe what this girl was telling him? He would have to ask some more questions but he would have to step delicately. "He said I shouldn't tell anyone, the Vampire Swordsmen man that is... But you’re here researching too, so... I think, I can trust you. I mean it's hard to think that someone with such a pretty birdy is a bad person." Lucci hadn’t even realised Hattori had returned to his shoulder after its hunt for food. Hattori had its uses and this was one of them. Lucci paused a moment, smiling and petting the bird whilst doing so. “It’s called Hattori. I’ll show you some of the tricks I’ve taught Mr. Hattori over here. I’m sure you will be amused but let us continue this conversation. I can assure you, you can trust me. I wouldn’t harm you,” Lucci told the girl. “What you’ve told me is quite fascinating. So you believe you were frozen in time for over 900 years which would make you be born in the void era. That is absolutely fascinating. If I were in your position, I would also want to learn about the past. Perhaps we can find out about your parents but first if you wouldn’t mind, what can you remember from the Void Era? And also, can you tell me anything more about this Vampire Swordsman friend of yours.” Lucci wanted to know who she may have been in contact with and where she got such information from. The void era was a subject not many people knew about. It was a taboo topic. It was dangerous. It was a World Government secret. If he was to take them down, he would need to know about their secrets. Perhaps this girl could help him unlock such secrets.
