"Hey man, I'm Gavin Amadeus D'Arras."
Gavin Amadeus...he really ain't from around here, heh.
The musician standing before Nolan carried an almost stupefyingly aloof air about him. He seemed to be something of an adventurer, having made it all the way out to the Grand Line from God-knows-where. What was increasingly interesting was that the poor fellow had no idea how or why he got mixed up in...whatever it was he got himself into. He very much less knew where he even was.
"Not really sure why I'm here man... Didn't even know this placed was called Resinbar until a couple minutes ago."
What a character.
Even so, Nolan, feeling particularly bad for the clueless crusader, took it upon himself to introduce the young man to his modest island, a luxury that eluded most visitors.
"Whelp, you sure have wiggled your way into quite the pickle, Mr. Gavin! Like you said, you've managed to plop yourself onto the island of Resinbar: the Cattle-Wrangling, Agricultural capital of the Grand Line! We're tough as nails, and don't take too kindly to pirates n' the like."
Nolan could certainly talk the talk, but he most certainly could not walk the walk. He seemed to completely forget that not a few moments ago he had been hooting and hollering, making a fool of himself amidst the chaos that had shortly plagued the small saloon.
Quickly recalling the tussle that had only briefly dissipated, Nolan scanned the room for the green-haired warrior that made quick work of the horrifyingly huge fish-monster-man.
"We fell, scaredy-scarf."
"GYAH!"
Nolan threw his arms up, wincing, quite taken off-guard by the abrasive interjection. Through half-closed eye, Nolan realized that it was only the green-haired warrior back from her brief battle. Nolan quickly snapped back to his previously level-headed demeanor, sliding his hands into his pockets and blowing his hair out of his face.
"Fell, eh? Were you flying? Seems a bit strange..."
"Washed up, walked here.. Great welcoming party, seen better though."
"Yes, well, I could imagine, little lady."
"You did great too, the whole Guuh gyaaa guh huh aaah!~ routine was priceless."
All of Nolan's blood immediately rushed to his face, his skin resembling something of a ripened tomato.
"YES WELL LET'S NOT CHANGE THE SUBJECT, HMM?"
Nolan took a second to collect himself, though his recent outburst did little to quiet the green-haired girl.
"But seriously, dudes...how the hell are we gunna get off this island..."
"Aha!"
Nolan snapped his fingers.
"Now there's something I can help with."
Nolan's head turned about for a few moments; he was searching for a spot to post up, for he was going to need a good while to explain everything that was going on. A few moments of searching led Nolan to an overturned stool sitting under the front side of the bar. Setting it back to its proper position, Nolan assumed a comfortable position, and started to explain to Gavin and his violent mistress just exactly what was going on.
"From what I gathered from Mr. Gavin, it seems you two are shit-outta'-luck in the sea-faring vessel department. Fortunately for you, Resinbar's got a nice port on the Eastern coast, Porter Town, where you can accrue such a vessel."
Nolan rubbed his nose.
"Considering what happened, however, it seems there's a...small issue with getting to said town."
Nolan coughed, then whiped his mouth with his sleeve.
"Earlier today, I overheard some peculiar talk about some folks causing a ruckus over in Porter town; big, big guys claiming to be pirates n' whatnot. Like I said before, Resinbar doesn't take to kindly to those folks, and we usually do well to nip those kinds of problems in the bud."
Nolan let out a sigh.
"Unfortunately, it seems the rumors are true. Judgin' by the size of that fella' that you so brilliantly pulverized, the roughnecks over in Porter are probably as big as they say. A small group of them monster fella's could no doubt cause trouble for Porter. Why would they? God knows..."
Nolan looked towards the window, down to his feet, then back at Gavin and Green-hair.
"I could, uh...I could certainly show you folks the way on up there. It'll be quite the hike, considering it's on the opposite side of the island, but it's manageable. Shouldn't take longer than a day, and seeing as half the day's gone, we'd have to camp out for the night. We'd reach Porter a little later than this time tomorrow if you're up for it. Only thing I'll say is that once we're there, you're on your own. I'm...not really the fighting type, as they say."
Nolan smiled, hoping that he did his best to educate the young adventurers.
"Well? Whaddya' say?"
