Dream Recruitment (Closed For Now)

Drew "The Legendary" had just read his name in the paper. He was in the paper! Dante Takai, a good friend of Drew was also within that same paper. Drew got a bounty of 5,000,000 and Dante Takai got a bounty of 12,000,000. Drew knew that marines would be on the lookout for him. But he didn't care, he had just bought his ship and was looking for a first mate.

Drew was at sea for some time now, he was chewing on a piece of meat. Drew desperately needed something better to eat, it would be cool if he could get a cook. But chances were very low, his bounty was very low, he thought that no pirate would ever join him. But, he was wrong. About twenty metres far away he spotted land.

Drew immediately stood up from his chair that he was eating the meat on and ran to the front of the ship. This place was on his map it was called. "The Holy what the...?" Drew said to himself. "The Holy Remunun Empire..?" It was a fairly large chunk of land he thought to himself. Even Jreum Island was not that big. He then was near the dock of the island.

It was time to recruit my fellow pirates.

Drew was walking on the land of this huge island. It seemed like it was part of the world government, he would have to be careful, he did not want to cause any trouble on an island with a lot of marines. About five minutes after Drew had docked Drew saw the city. It was a huge city, a beautiful city. Everyone roamed in peace.

The people looked normal and not much marines were there, but still he would have to take extra precautions. He walked down the hill and into the city. Right after that he walked into a Clothing Shop. He looked at the clothing, they were okay. He bought some black pants and a brown shirt. But he did not leave his other clothes there, he bought a bag and stuffed his old clothes into it. He still had the same shows though.

Drew then took it easy. He walked into a sake bar. He sat on a chair at the bar's counter and started drinking. But only one bottle, he would have to be ready to recruit. After several minutes of regaining his senses he noticed there was a fight going on. A man and another man. They both were fighting to the death, one cut there, one scar here. Everybody else was just watching. Drew watched until the taller man died. Drew then left the bar, disgust filling his mind.

Drew then reminded himself he needed something to eat and fast. Drew walked awkwardly to a Restaurant. Right when he entered he noticed nobody was there. It almost seemed as if the restaurant was abandoned. He thought to himself, it was abandoned why would they put it in the middle of city? He then realized it was not open yet. He rushed out of the store and into the city again. He then saw a poor man getting beat up by a rich man and a lady was crying. The crowd was just watching him. "Why are you guys just watching him die?!" Drew yelled at the crowd, anger taking over.

Drew stomped into the crowd, taking out his sword.

He stood in front of the man. The man was taller than him but he did not care. Drew looked at the man straight in the face. "If you harm another citizen you will face the wrath of Drew." The rich man stared at Drew "Are you Drew...? The one from Jreum Island?" Drew nodded. "Why yes I am." Then about ten marines shot bullets. Luckily all of them missed Drew. Drew started running like crazy. "I didn't mean thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!" He said.

Drew kept running and running until he was face-to-face with the same marines. He stared at them. They only had guns and he had two katanas and a sword. Drew let a sly grin engulf his face. "Well hello there." He showed his bounty poster that he had cut out of the newspaper while on his way to this island. "5-5-5,000,000 beris..?" The marines fear level was great, Drew almost laughed but held it in. He wrapped them all up in one huge bag. He then poked a little air hole in there and they were all squished. "Have a nice day." Drew left the marines in the dust.

Drew then noticed it was midday. The sun was shining bright, the sky was blue as if it was meant for him. The ocean water sparkled in the sun, the voices of people were as happy as they could be. It was a really good day. Several minutes after Drew had wrapped the people up he sat down on a hill and fell into a loud nap. Just like Luffy does most of the times. He woke up about an hour after. It was now 1:00 PM. Drew slid down the hill and landed on his two feet elegantly. His stomach growled at him. He then knew he was hungry.

Well, why don't you go to the restaurant Drew?

Drew then noticed the restaurant has to have been open by now. Drew could remember stuff very well, he ran very fast back to the restaurant. He then noticed a bunch of people were there. He sat at the chair at the counter of the restaurant so he could order. A man came up to him and asked him for his order. "Hey man, can you give me something to eat? Anything?" Drew asked the person that looked like a man. "I'm not a man! I am a lady!" The lady scowled at Drew. "Your a lady?!" Drew said in astonishment. "Yes, I am a lady."

As the needle penetrated the synthetic skin that made up her chest, the feelings were mixed. Pain and relief. Pressing the plunger down, letting her precious life source flow bak into her body. A whole day of life in just 200ml. The woman slowly drew the needle back out of her body, placing the syringe not in the usual bag at her hips, but in her waistcoat's inside pocket. She was gonna be late enough as it was.

"And that was your morning pick-me-up Silvia, well done."

With that Silvia re-buttoned her shirt and coat, picked up her feet, and broke into a jog. The scenery was the usual beaten up establishments, dotted with the occasional civilian, surviving in their own way. There was however one interesting thing. A group of Marines, surrounding some poor fellow. Interrogation, perhaps? Silvia expected no-one to give a damn, or help, however she didn't expect someone to be coming from the other direction. Diving towards the roadside, and into a roll, Silvia dodged the on-comer. A blur of brown cloth ran past, followed by a swarm of Marine white. Seems someone was in trouble.

After brushing herself off and regaining her pace, the jog to the restaurant wasn't much further. Today, Boss had left Silvia in charge, running the restaurant by herself. The selfish prick was probably off chasing some mini-skirt. Anyway, it was time to open up shop. Donning the only clean apron, the one that she appalled. Kiss The Cook…

***It had been 3 weeks…

3 damn weeks… Silvia knew she was meant to be on a rescue mission. Now here she was, 2 weeks into a job, on some god forsaken island, in a completely different Blue, where even the Marines did a bit of crime. Pathetic. She used to work with them. Look up to them…***

The customers rolled in and out over the first half hour. Most were drunk already from the Sake Bar down the road. Then, a familiar shade of brown entered the door. Looks like he had escaped. This young man made himself comfortable at the counter seats nearby. So Silvia made her way around, prepared for yet another order.

"Hey man, can you give me something to eat? Anything?"

God dammit. Another oblivious customer, Silvia had hoped there was some sense to him.

"I'm not a man… I am a lady." she sighed. Knowing that the look on his face would be priceless. It truly was.

"You're a lady!!!"

Oh, this was gonna be fun. Silvia couldn't help but giggle to herself.

"Yes… I am a lady."

The customers at the nearby table began to smirk and laugh under their breath at the brown clothed stranger. However a quick glare in their direction quickly shut them up. It always did. Fearful cowards always bend to the slightest intimidation. After a quick stretch, Silvia turned back to the new face. It was time to do her job. So she smiled.

"Anyway Hun, what can I getcha? Meat, veg, fruit, dessert dishes. I'll cook any and all of what you want… all at a reasonable price. This is a business after all."

Drew looked at the cook with his hazel brown eye's. "Don't have to call me hun. Call me Drew, that's my name!" Drew said, in a deep but not scary voice. Drew watched as all the people looked like they were giggling but this cook shut them up. Drew laughed a bit. Right after that two people burst into the restaurant. Marines...

"Drew The Legendary! You are under arrest for sacking ten marines in a bag with a little air hole, you also scared Prince Chavi." Drew didn't look at the marines, he kept looking the other way, the way the cook went. Everyone gasped and started whispering. "Me? Under arrest..?" That same sly grin engulfed his face. Drew then turned and took out a newspaper. He put it on a table. "You, read this aloud." The man stuttered, scared. "O-Okay..."

The man read...

"The lack of security is becoming a problem at Jreum Island. It was recently reported former marine Dante Takai and Pirate Drew “The Legendary”, were part of a ruckus that erupted at the marine base. The two men attacked several marine officers including Ensign Jason who is being treated at the Jreum Island hospital right now. The marine’s are asking for those who have any information on these men to come forward. Bounties are to be released shortly with sources reporting 5,000,000 Beri for Drew “The Legendary” and 12,000,000 for former marine Dante Takai.

Commodore Haunter, who is in charge of the S.W.O.R.D project based in Jreum Island as well as a senior member of the base, was reported as being outraged. The security of the island is going to be strengthened following the attack according to him. Pirates planning to voyage to Jreum Island... Beware." The man gulped. Everyone stared at Drew.

"Thank you for reading that to us." One of the two marines said. "But now we shall arrest you. Drew The Legendary." Drew didn't take out his katana's or his sharp sword. Instead he rushed at the marines and kicked both of them in the face. One of the marines dodged and punched Drew. Drew staggered but punched the marine back, in the face. He then took both of the marines by their shirt and threw them out of the restaurant. "Well... That was easy.." Drew said.

One of the ladies' spoke up. "Oh, he was in the newspaper! He befriended a ten foot tall man named Dante Takai and caused havoc on Jreum Island! Our neighbor island!" Drew grinned. He then met a child's blue eye's. The child met his brown eye's. Drew smiled and walked up to the kid. Drew bent down and ripped a part of his shirt off. He then gave it to the little child. "That's for you little kid." He smiled at the kid and went back to the counter of the restaurant.

Drew sat down watching for the lady to come. Several minutes after she came to the counter, serving him a salad with some fruits. He knew she had heard what he did over there. Drew took a small bite of the salad. He bit into it, the saliva breaking down his salad. Then he took a bite of the fruit, his saliva breaking it down. Drew looked at the lady. "What's your name?" He asked the lady. He was considering her to be the cook for the Dream Pirates. But such a nice lady probably would not become a pirate.

Right after that he heard more footsteps chasing after him. He knew the marines were coming into the restaurant. If only Dante Takai was here. He would destroy the marines. "So what's your name lady?" He asked the man looking lady.

"Don't have to call me 'Hun'… Call me Drew. That's my name!"

Drew, huh? Sounded familiar… Ah well, the look in his eyes said he was just hungry, but not for anything in-particular. Silvia knew just what was perfect for the occasion. So she made way back to the open view kitchen and behind her heard the door swiftly open with the usual jingle of bells hanging by the frame. The accompanying sound of heavy booted footwork meant only one thing. Marines. But only two of them…

The two announced themselves and their intentions. That being Drew himself. Silvia ignored them, concentrating on preparing the meal for her newest customer. The fruit knife felt light in her hand. It flowed with her skilled hands as it carved away, one by one, the skin of the fruits she had prepared. Silvia swayed her body slightly, as it got into its own rhythm. First an apple, then a pear, and finally slicing through the banana and its peel. With some fresh lettuce leaves underneath, it was finished. A nutritious fruit salad on a bed of lettuce greens. A simple but elegant recipe that Mistress Suzy had absolutely ador… Mistress… Memories of the recent past flooded her mind, and silent tears began to run down Silvia's cheeks, fogging up her glasses…

A second jingle of bells awoke Silvia from her daydream. Quickly removing her glasses, she rubbed her eyes dry on the sleeve of her elbow. Turning to face any new customers with a fresh smile, Silvia was surprised to see, not customers, but rather those Marines from before sprawled on the pathway outside the glass doors. Beaten, bruised and dirty.

"Well… That was easy…" he sighed.

Drew retook his seat by the counter. The whole restaurant was in silence staring at him. However, the eyes slowly fell off him, as they silently cheered his rebellion. Silvia knew why, but doubted that this kid would understand. This boy was strong, crazy strong. Although he carried a sword with him, he didn't once use it. (If he had, he would be the one cleaning up the blood!!!) Hmm… As thanks for him clearing out the trash, Silvia wanted to give him a bit extra to his meal. A sprinkling of brown sugar… with a dash of lemon juice… There. Now it was ready.

Silvia brought the dessert plate round to it's consumer. The obviously hungry Drew, who stared eagerly his meal. He dove right in, yet he took his time. Eating with deliberate bites, letting its taste sink in, eating in quiet acceptance. She liked this guy, smiling satisfied to herself… Then, more footsteps echoed from outside. Seems that half the squad was here.

"So, what's your name lady?" he asked as he finished the last bite.

"Silvia, Hun… I mean, Drew…"

Silvia wanted to talk with this kid more. So she took the liberty of pressing the 'lock' button underneath the counter. Hearing the loud click of the glass doors locking was enough to let the customers know that they were safe, for now. A few substantial rounds of bullets from those Marines rifles and that would shatter those thick glass doors. Time would be of the essence. Silvia made her way around the counter and past Drew.

"Everyone! If you would…"

Pointing towards a back room, Silvia indicated the Safe Room for customers should they not want to get involved with any of large scale brawls, that could often erupt in Ottomaine. Everybody left for the safety of the room, but Silvia stayed keeping Drew in place with a firm hand on his shoulder.

"Listen to me, Drew…." Her tone was now serious, almost a different person from before.

"Things aren't alright on this island. That much I can see you don't understand. So that means that you're definitely new here."

Silvia pointed at the locked door, indicating the white flock outside. Talking with a wanted Pirate, disobeying and resisting a Marine raid. All were acts of rebellion that were going to put her on the Bullseye too.

"Now we're both gonna be the focus of the Navy forces out there. So tell me friend, how long ago did you arrive on this Island?"

If he had only just arrived then his ship may still be at the docks. A ship meant Silvia's way out... she definitely needed to leave.

Drew ate the last of his salad and looked up at Silvia. "I had just arrived on this island about five hours ago. My ship is at this island's Dock. I left it there with some man. He looked like a nice fellow, although I do not trust many people. Right after that he heard more footsteps. "Has anyone seen Drew The Legendary here?!" Everyone said "No." The marines continued. "If you do find him please tell him the marines have taken Drew's ship so he cannot escape." Drew was in a crouch position, hiding from the marines.

After the marines had left Drew stood up. Drew was stronger than he was intelligent. "Why would we both be navy focuses? Why are you a focus? I am supposed to be the real focus. You did not do anything, yet." He said, grinning. Right after that he realized the marines had seized his ship. "They have seized my ship... Now what shall I do?" He looked at Silvia. "What shall we do now..?" He asked Silvia. "I want to check if they are telling the truth.." Without asking Silvia if she wants to come he took her by the arm and dragged her by his side.

Drew heard the voices of people, all talking about Drew. Drew was now known around these parts, but only for a while. He would make his mark on this land, and set out on his pirate journey. He would form the best crew there was, is and will be. He would also find the best nakama ever. Maybe he could even become the Pirate King.

Once they had gotten to the dock and he had ignored all of Silvia's scolds he let her go at the dock. "So... They are not lying after all." He sat down and looked at Silvia. "It seems that you are more intelligent than me, but I am not dumb enough to barge into a marine fulled place without a plan." He looked at the cook. "So what shall I do now..?" He asked the cook. Trying to think of a plan by himself.

"I know better place to think." He suggested to Silvia several minutes after he started thinking of a plan. He took Silvia by her arm and dragged her again, back to the restaurant. Once he had gotten back to the restaurant, he noticed everybody had left. He took something out of his pocket and placed it on the counter, lots of beris. "This is my present to you for scaring all your precious customers away." He then sat down with her on a table for two. "Have you thought of a plan yet?" He asked Silvia. Looking around, for marines. He was still carrying the bag he had put his normal clothes in. Drew tapped his foot on the ground, making a soothing rhythm, his dear mother had taught him that song. He just could not sing at all.

"They've seized my ship�Now what shall I do? What shall WE do?"

How could he stay calm in this situation. Also Silvia didn't like the emphasis that he had put on 'we'�

"� I want to check if they're telling the truth."

Without warning, Drew took her wrist and ran outside, with Silvia stumbling over the bar stools he tipped over on their way out. They reached the Dock soon afterward. Sending Drew a variety of scolds and scowls, he eventually let go. The evidence of the missing ship was obvious. A few scattered barrels of foreign design littered the dockside.

"So� They weren't lying after all."

No kidding.

"You seem a lot more intelligent than me, but I'm not dumb enough to barge into a Marine place without a plan."

Drew met his eyes to hers. Why did she feel sorry for this idiot Pirate? Suddenly Drew grabbed her arm again and swiftly dragged her away, saying that he knew a better place to think. That place was the now empty Diner. Here she took a seat, rubbing her wrist although she never actually felt pain in her arms. Drew however dumped a load of Beri onto the counter. A present? Well it did make up for the lost customers. What kind of Pirate was this kid?

"Well, have you thought of a plan yet?"

This statement brought Silvia back into focus. The boat� That was the primary concern. The safety of Drew's boat meant everything to an escape. But the only way to get close was to� No. There was no other way� Surrender.

"Come on hun, otherwise we're gonna be late!"

Making her way around the corner of her counter, Silvia quickly shoved the Beli into the register. Grabbing Drew's collar she hoisted him off his seat, easily able to hold his light frame with one arm. Lifting him out of the restaurant was an easy task, locking the door behind her.

"I'll help you get your ship back, but we are gonna have to do something stupid. But first you should know about what happened here�"

Taking a deep breath, Silvia recalled the information she had gathered the past few weeks.

"The Marine forces here are corrupted beyond belief. However, they only take every single boat because of the insane Prince's Chavi's wish."

Setting Drew down Silvia indicated for him to follow her. Navigating their way through the increasing dense crowds, on the way the the central square.

"But the prince is just� mad. I'm told he wasn't a cruel person. The true terror here is the Marine Captain Ginko. Now he is cruel. Runs the country under the Mad Prince's nose. Enforcing his OWN law upon the population."

At last they arrived at the Square. It was filled with stalls of goods from the hard working hands of the community. Yet none were open. And everyone in the square was lined around it, in military formation. Silvia now stood hidden in the shadows on the edge of the Square. With Drew beside her she was whispering to him now.

"Right now it's time for the 'Morality Parade', Ginko's most enforced practice. Though of course he won't be here. No. His lieutenant is here instead, to reinforce the rules, and probably warn everyone about you."

Pointing to the uniformed man on an elevated podium, she indicated the target. Turning to face Drew, Silvia said with a smile.

"Don't do anything to rash, otherwise this idea will not work. The Lieutenant is a skilled fighter, but is still weaker compared to Ginko... So how about it Drew? Feel like introducing yourself to the Lieutenant?"
