Name of Island: Twilight Island
Size of Island: A very small Island, only houses one town and one port.
Location: Although I know the Nightmare Route is closed, I’d love to have this go there. If not, Reflection Route.
Log Pose Time: 4 days
Part of the World Government?: Yes
Flora and Fauna: Once a flourishing island full of both animals and plants alike, the now dying island is devoid of all plants and animals. All the food on the island comes from the large Marine supply ships that feed the island once a week.
The island is unique in one sense, there is never any light. The sun, although only out for four hours, never penetrates the many clouds that hang over the island. For the rest of the day, the moon provides the only slight glimmer of light, as the clouds only began to clear during this time.
Inhabitants: The inhabitants of the Island are one of three people; civilian, Marine, pirate.
-The civilians of the town are a scared and fearful people. With a corrupt Marine influence and pirates running amuck, they have all the right to be. Living day to day in fear of the growing threat of pirates, and not being able to rely on the Marine force there, the civilians tend to stay indoors only to come out during the delivery of supplies. Very few of the Natives exist.
-The Marine influence is present and quite formidable, but with the new Rear Admiral Edward in charge, the Marines have taken a fall towards corruption. Only interested in power and money, Rear Admiral Edward came to the island to take command after the death of the previous Rear Admiral. Sent by HQ, Rear Admiral Edward has taken Twilight Island under his complete command and is treating the Island as his own personal kingdom. Since the island is quite far from HQ, Edward has had free reign to do as he pleases. If you wish to get on his good side, bribery is your new best friend.
-With the Marine force corrupted, pirates have gained a foothold over the island and have increased in terrifying numbers. Although Edward is strong enough to keep the wave of piracy to a minimum, the islands corruption draws them ever nearer. Running amuck in the underground bars and downtown, the pirates are a force to be reckoned with. Many pirates have, however, bribed Edward large sums of money to be allowed to go unnoticed and free.
NPCS: Rear Admiral Edward: A large man, standing at seven feet six inches; this gun slinging brute is not one to be taken lightly. Ruling the island with an iron grip, Edward sees money as the only valuable item.
Town(s)/Village(s)/City or Cities: Twilight Town: The only town on the island. A dark, foreboding town filled with corruption and crime. The town sits on a large hill, with Edward’s personal Mansion, of course guarded, at the top of it. Below that lays the Marine base. Winding down the single dark road leads into the town itself; a large city filled with skyscraper buildings. Here a collection of shops and bars litter the streets. Along the streets are lamp posts to light the dark island. If one were to venture into the depth of the town, they would reach the Downtown. Filled with all sorts of pirates, this place is not for the faint of heart.
Moon Port: The single port on the island. A large port that houses the Marine ships. Very few pirates get through, without bribery that is. Once a week, a fleet of Marine ships deliver the weekly supplies for the island. Located on the western side of the island.
Secret Port: A secret port used from early times by the natives. Located to the south-west of the island, it is a secret cove used by those who know of it. Able to gain access to the island and the town, it is the cause of trouble that sparked the war of the island. Think you can find it adventurer? Beware! Navigating through the cove is tricky!
Missions: None as of yet, feel free to add any that you would find suitable.
Island History:
Twilight Island, the island wasn’t always called that. Back at the founding of the World Government, the natives that lived here called the island Sunshine Island. The natives, a group of wanderers that lived in small tribes, lived off the land. Back then, that was very possible. The fields were lush with fruits and trees and animals roamed the island freely. There were no skyscrapers outside of trees, no lamp posts as the sun shone brightly each and everyday, and there was no crime. The natives, a very religious group of individuals, were more than content with living their simple, peaceful lives. Although pirates sailed by quite frequently, the good-natured natives gave freely what they had and allowed the pirates to move on, peacefully. The island was in a perfect state of bliss.
That was, until the arrival of the World Government and their Marines. Seeking to expand their territory and their grip around the world, a treaty was struck. The natives would receive money, protection, and a piece of the land while a small town was to be built. At first, the natives became very suspicious. They had never seen money or technology of this kind. Holding little regard for material objects, the natives gave the money back to the World Government and had asked for only one thing; a portion of the land to be theirs and only theirs. The land that they had staked was far from the town and the port, so the World Government agreed and the new treaty was struck. Soon the large building became finished, the island (save for the natives land) was cleared, and both sides prospered. Captain Yoku was in charge of the island. A decent man that lived by the Marine Code, Yoku was satisfied with his portion of the island. His right hand man, Lewis, however, was suspicious. Far too often they had seen Natives down by the ports. As this was the only accessible way to the island, many Marines had thought they were fishing or swimming. However, the natives would soon cause the anger of the Marines to fall upon them. Lieutenant Lewis, while on patrol, saw a small canoe of the natives rowing out towards a ship. Although he couldn’t catch a good look at the sail, he knew by the black sail that it was a pirate ship. After some time, the pirate ship headed south of where the port was. At first Lewis thought they were leaving the island. But, after following the ship alongside the coast, he would discover the secret cove!
Immediately informing Captain Yoku, Lewis would lead a small unit to investigate. Astonishment and shock would greet them. Three pirate ships were secretly anchored there! Destroying them, Lewis would report to Yoku of the impending threat upon their newly established island. Confronting the natives about the danger of piracy and of aiding them, the natives defended themselves by claiming that the Marines had intruded on their land and were in violation of their treaty. Words flew and tempers raged; in no time at all a fight broke out. The natives primitive weapons couldn’t stand up to the might of the Marine forces and very few natives escaped.
Skip to present time. The Marine force has expanded their town over the entire island. Many different commanders and officials have ruled over the island after the destruction of the natives. Some have been decent leaders, however, more often than not, they were corrupt. Many people believe that is why the island is always dark and gloomy. Rear Admiral Edward has taken command here now. The strongest of the Marine’s to rule the island, who can liberate the poor island? Do you dare step on this island brave, foolish, adventurer. Marine, pirate, wanderer, none is safe!
